You're a pop star, or a royal, or maybe even the last of your kind who will bring about the Earth's redemption. Whatever the case may be, you're in a position that may be a bit dicey if you attract the wrong kind of attention.
And you're a bodyguard, a soldier, a knight - a protector. Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth.
Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy.
Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised?
How to Play 1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference. 2. Comment to others. 3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you. |

"There has to be." It was the easiest answer, after all, and considering that they were gundam pilots, there was always a back way. Duo never liked to try and shuffle Wufei through a crowd, if he didn't have to, and at the moment was feeling a bit too irritable to possibly think about pushing through a crowd without punching someone in the mean time. He ushers Wufei into a back hallway, instead, thinking of back ways out of the building rather quickly.
"The car park is where they can't get to. Just gotta get someone to make sure we aren't seen in the mean time, right?"
no subject
"Building seems large enough to have a service elevator," he said, thinking over how much walking they'd done to get to the meeting.

There had been quite a few times that Duo had thought about doing the exact same thing, but had been given the same long lecture about keeping up appearances not only for Preventers, but for the fact that with Wufei's newfound fame, they both didn't need any more negative PR than they might have already garnered by even being together. Duo keeps a steady pace, grunting as Wufei suggests a service elevator, and then takes a sharp left, through a set of double doors, apparently.
"Should probably be able to find one, through here.." He sighs, and then slows down again, reminding himself to not get too wound up just yet. "And for once I'm not dragging you in to a back hallway to take your pants off, though I don't know whether I approve of that or not."
no subject
Wufei snorted, following close to Duo to keep from losing contact. Having to pull out his tapping cane would just slow them down.
"You can figure that out when we're someplace private again, like home," he said, resisting the urge to find Duo's braid and give it a good tug. "Not a dark corner."
no subject
"When we're home, we're gonna take a nice relaxing bath in that big ass tub we had to have." Duo got a little edgy, when they were being trailed by a hoard of reporters - but could anyone blame him, really? It went against everything that they had ever been taught to be known, to be followed and tailed as celebrities. In fact, that had been the exact thing that they had been supposed to avoid, and yet here they were. Thankfully, most reporters and paparazzi who liked to follow them the most often knew to avoid the braided pilot, who wouldn't quite punch, but wasn't afraid to shove right through their bodies if he needed to.
"I'm gonna need it, I think."

"I hope that comes soon, Wu." Duo sighs. He sure as hell won't give up on them because it's frustrating to be followed around like they're some sort of zoo show, but he'd be a liar if he wasn't honest enough to say that, some days, it was incredibly frustrating to have no time to themselves, and no space outside their home and their work place. He was determined, soon, to find them a place that they could go on vacation without having to spare a single second thinking of how to get Wufei from place to place.
He laughs, though, at the idea of Wufei picking up his gun and shooting. "I think you'd still be able to shoot pretty damn well, Wu, so don't make me curious. That's not fair to other people."

Wufei was pretty close to asking Quatre to go in with him on buying a private island with a no fly zone above. Or a colony.
no subject
"I'd love to see that, to be honest." He's smiling, laughing a little to himself and reaching back to give Wufei's hand a squeeze. They finally come to a service elevator, and Duo calls it up, checking out the buttons with his hand keeping the doors open, in case they had to abandon ship. When he sees a key labeled "b" he gives a short grunt, jabs it with his finger, and allows the doors to shut.
"Basement level should work. One flight of stairs and then there's the underground parking garage - and that's where your car is... "

"Well since I have permission.." Duo gives a little chuckle, watching the elevator tick down levels until they finally reach the basement, the elevator indicating that they'd reached their level with a small 'ding'. Duo is already prepared to shove his way through crowds with a car if need be, and he sets eyes on their car rather quickly. The key is already out of his pocket, clicking the button to unlock the doors, ignoring the clamor of unsuspecting press not far away who were waiting for them to appear.
"Let's make this quick, Wu."
no subject
Wufei followed the sound of Duo's quick steps, working around the car as soon as his hand touched metal and glass to get into the passenger seat and slam the door shut. "Go."
no subject
"I've got you, babe." Duo reassures as they cross the garage, and the buzz stays away, focused on the door where they've apparently convinced themselves the two are leaving. Thankfully, anyways, and as soon as Duo is in and buckled he's turning over the engine, checking the back up mirror and getting on the move. The car garners attention immediately, though most of the reporters seem to have the common sense to stay away from rolling tires and two tons of metal and engine.
.... It probably helped that Duo had revved the engine and made it very clear he wouldn't be stopping. Their progress is still slow, considering, and Duo growls in irritation.
"What part of I'm in a vehicle and you're breakable and human do these people not get?!"

He can't help a laugh at that, though his next move is to roar the engine again, which seems to part the seas so to speak, and Duo breaks out of the parking garage and turns in to the road, apologizing to the person behind them that he'd cut off in order to make the next light and get away. From there on they shouldn't be followed, but it doesn't stop Duo from going a back way in order to make it a little more impossible for them to be followed.
"Deformed hamster wasn't quite what I was thinking, but yours is much kinder."
no subject
"Knowing you, it's probably much less lewd too," he said with a smirk. Wufei leaned back in his seat, getting comfortable as they picked up speed, clearly away from the reporters even without needing to see it. If they ever found out their home address, Wufei was going to drag up some of his old wartime contacts to guard the place with heavy weaponry. Or let Heero redesign the security system.
no subject
"Why would it be less lewd? None of those reporters were remotely as attractive as you." After all, he wasn't trying to get home quickly but safely in order to get one of them naked and in a bath, was he? That and, well, if any reporter was as annoying in life outside of their jobs as they were right then, then god speed to anyone who had to put up with them.

Wufei shook his head, reaching back to pull the band from his hair so he could rake his fingers through it and start on soothing away the headache that'd been forming since that morning. "Flatterer."
no subject
Duo chuckles, as he finally finds a quieter, almost country road that may lead to their home if he chose to give it away. He was thankful they'd been able to find such a tucked away place, and a short check in the back mirror said that they weren't being followed. Thank God. He wanted to go home. He does reach over and place his hand on Wufei's thigh, giving it a little soothing squeeze.
"Not a flatterer, it's the truth."
no subject
no subject
"Or against the side of the tub, yeah." Duo smirks, hand drifting a little closer to between Wufei's thighs instead of resting on one, giving a fleeting touch as he continues to speed down the back road. Here's to hoping there's no cops in there as per usual, or else they might really be in trouble.

Duo just smirks, sidelong, at Wufei, pulling in to their driveway and into the garage rather shortly after. Before the inheritance news, he probably would have pulled right over, but now, he's a bit too scared that there will be paparazzi photos of him trying to pull his pants up and cover themselves up. So they'll actually get to wait, though not long, as Duo leans over to give Wufei's neck a little kiss before he gets out of the car.
"Let's go, or it might be over the hood of the car."
no subject
Wufei let out a small pleased sound even as he pulled away to get out of the car, not needing Duo's guidance now that they were home. That didn't stop him from seeking out the man's hand once he came around the car though.
no subject
Things that would no doubt drive him crazy, if it carried on for very long. It was bad enough to have all sorts of rumors flying about how the two of them even met, much less the nature of their relationship or why Duo was with Wufei as it was. The fact he was from L2 had never been better fodder than it was right then.
Duo gratefully takes Wufei's hand, giving it a little squeeze as he opens the door to allow them inside, locking it with a practiced motion before he swung the door shut, leaning in to nip and kiss at Wufei's neck again, just because. "We should keep moving, or we might just have to see how many times it takes us to get to the bathroom."
