THE SNOW DAY MEME



Looks like the weather forecast was right; it's absolutely freezing! Not only that, but your town/city/jamjar/wherever is knee-deep in snow. Schools are shut, roads are backed up for miles and the general quiet chaos of a snow day has taken over.

But forget those negative nellies! Just post a comment with your series name and character name as usual, as well as any other notes you wish to add, then pick a prompt using the RNG and get started!


1. OMG SNOW!!!

Snow is just the BEST THING EVER, RIGHT?! Well, that's what you think and you're determined to have a good time with snowball fights, snowmen, snow forts and every other conceivable kind of snow-related activity with your friends... even if they don't really want to join in.

2. FUCK YOU, SNOW.

Oh god, it's snowing. This just completely ruins your day. Maybe you were planning to go shopping but the roads are still blocked up, or because the school closed, you need to hire a last minute babysitter for your kids. Whatever the reason for it, you're not pleased about this snow and you don't care what anyone else thinks.

3. SNOW SIEGE

Oh lord, it looks like you're stuck inside. With the amount of snow at your door, you can't open it! Will you make a daring escape out the window or will you just give up and watch TV? But what if you run out of snacks? Or the TV reception dies?!

4. BUSINESS BEFORE PLEASURE

With all this snow around, people's drives and lawns are completely blocked up. Why not take the opportunity to make a quick buck and clean their front gardens for them? If you team up with your friends, you can become a snow-clearing machine and make massive profits!

5. A WALK IN THE SNOW

Nothing like the sound of freshly fallen snow crunching away under your shoes, right? You don't really care either way about the chaos and even though it's chilly, the one thing you want to do today is head out for a walk in the snow and maybe grab a hot chocolate on the way back.

[ She moves closer to him. ]

I was impressed actually. Shocked but impressed.

[ Wow! She's so laid back!! It's not what he's used to, especially with the kind of demeanor she carries, but he decides to take advantage of her patience and roll with it.

He will recoil if she gets too close however. It's been a very long time since he last spoke to someone that vaguely resembled a woman. ]

Uh -- you weren't following me because you needed something, were you? Because - because I'd love to help if you were!

[ He considers allowing her revenge for the snowball attack, but... yeah, nah! That's not necessary. ]

[ She frowns a little and shakes her head, her movements finally slow down to a halt. ]

No.. I do not need anything. It is just that... you seemed lonely. Perhaps I read things wrong, but I thought... perhaps this man needs some company.

Lonely? Not a chance! ... [ He crosses his arms confidently now that she's not edging closer. But his smile wavers... ]

[riffraff]

Wait. You're not going to leave if it turned out I wasn't lonely, right? [ Because he kind of DOES like the company. She's the first pretty face he's seen since... well, since he looked in the mirror! ]

[moonpowers]

Well after having a snowball thrown at me, I'm not certain you'd even like my company.

[ Her tone was teasing. She wasn't really mad, and she didn't plan on leaving him just yet. ]

[riffraff]

If it'll make you feel better, you can throw one at me! [ He thrusts out his arms with some dramatic flare, craning his neck and looking up towards the sky! ] Come on! Don't hold back!

[moonpowers]

I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to hit you that hard.

[ Despite that she starts laughing again and bends over to pick up some snow. ]

[riffraff]

Well, that's just not as fun, then. [ He gives a mock sigh, dropping his chin! He's busy bracing himself. He hates the cold! What can he say? He's from the Fire Lionturtly after all. ]

[moonpowers]

[ She starts balling it up but instead of throwing it at him she runs toward him and pushes the snow down the back of his outfit instead. ]

[riffraff]

[ Well... he certainly wasn't expecting that!!! Seeing her run at him, he throws his arms out, prepared to create a wall between them. But she flattens against them and all he can do is begrudgingly accept his punishment.

He still jumps about three feet in the air with a yelp when she shoves that snow down his robes, though. ]

[moonpowers]

[ She laughs more. ]

I couldn't help it, I'm sorry.

[riffraff]

Aahah. [ He shudders, rolling his shoulders in repeated circular motions. He wraps his arms around himself, rubbing his hands over his arms like he's freezing. ] I guess it's only fair.

[moonpowers]

Now we are even, yes?

[riffraff]

I hope so.

[moonpowers]

So... would you still like the company?

[riffraff]

If you wouldn't mind. Buuut, I can't promise you that you'll be safe from more snowball attacks.

[moonpowers]

I guess that is just the risk I am going to have to take. I would like to stay with you a little while longer if that is okay...

[riffraff]

Maybe I wasn't the one that was lonely, huh? [ NUDGE, NUDGE. He attempts to usher her through the snow so they can continue walking! ]

[moonpowers]

[ She flushes a little and continues following him. ]

It does get quite lonely sometimes. especially when not many travelers enjoy walking at night...

[riffraff]

You think they're afraid of the dark?

If they are, I am not doing my job very well.
