The NIGHT OUT Meme
It's gonna be a good one

The Premise:
Your character decided to go out to (or somehow magically up ended up at) a bar for a beer. Or maybe they smooth-talked their way into a classy cocktail bar. Or did they hit up a night club to do body shots off a stranger and dance the night away? Maybe the bar is underwater for no real reason! Whacky!

But the bar doesn't matter so much, as long as your character can have a good time. Even if they need a little arm-twisting from their friends to get there.

Instructions:

2. Providing a set up or a few ideas isn't necessary, but it might be a good idea!
3. Others respond.
4. I think we all know memes well enough to know what to do actually.
5. But I just like it to look like there's instructions.

Option Une: Samus had been stood up. Not by a date, but by an informant for her latest job. The night club made an excellent place to pass information. While the bouncers and staff were easily bought off, she usually had enough credits in her pocket that the only secrets that got out of these sorts meeting were ones she purposely allowed. Loud music and private booths made it easy to duck away to conduct some business and the rest of the patrons could dance the night away unconcerned and unaware.

Something was different tonight, though. Something felt off in the club tonight. Her informant not showing was just the start of it. Maybe it was paranoia, but she couldn't feel like a new bartender's eyes were on her too long. Was she being set up? She decides to get out, and get out quickly. It's entirely possible she knocks a drink out of someone's hand on accident as she pushes through a crowded dance floor.

Option Deux: Successful missions used to mean high spirits and celebrations, though Samus couldn't tell you the last time she walked away from a job with a smile on her face. Tonight wasn't any different, and neither was her post-mission routine. She parked herself at a bar. Perhaps a bit more crowded than her usual locale, but the background chatter served as a nice distraction to keep her mind from wandering too much. Obviously beer alone couldn't accomplish that, considering she'd left it untouched since she first ordered it.

Was she satisfied with the outcome of the mission? Oh absolutely. In a way. She had known about the private research lab for months, but only recently had the chance to strike. Funded by some eccentric billionaire and a few too many military contracts for her to be comfortable with, the lab's research drew from questionable resources and the results were too easily weaponized in her opinion. A bioweapon by any other name still needs to be destroyed, and while it wasn't usually customary for her to go stomping into people's private property she felt this fell within the realm of her self-assigned jurisdiction.

It left her feeling sour, though. More jaded than she was before she started investigating the lab. As if to rub salt in her wounds, the conversation that served as a much needed distraction lulls as the bartender turns up the volume on an urgent news report. There's her handiwork for the world to see. She finally picks up her glass to nurse the beer. Maybe that will block out the murmurs of 'Was anyone hurt?' No, she cleared the building before setting the self destruct sequence. 'What a shame, all those scientist's work destroyed' Their work could have destroyed much more. But the one that really gets her is... 'Was it an accident? Or a terrorist attack?'

She supposes the difference between a hero and a terrorist is sometimes only a matter of perspective. She signals the bartender once the initial shock of the report has dulled a little. Another beer, please.]

[There was a very good reason her informant wasn't showing up: he was currently being detained in the back alleyway just behind the night club.]

[To be fair, it wasn't much of a fight. Falcon showed up out of no where in his ridiculous trademark outfit, all flash and glam, and cornered the guy easily. He might've had to toss him up against the wall once or twice when he tried to run. They were the kinds of thumps and bumps that could easily be mistaken for the thick bass of the music, but a trained (or paranoid) ear might recognize they weren't coming from the speakers themselves.]

You're not making this any easier on yourself.

[Unaware of this guy's business with Samus, all Falcon cared about was that he had a criminal record and had a price on his head worth going after. The informant clearly knew who Falcon was, especially when he got desperate enough to aim a gun at the bounty hunter who came for his head.]

Don't even try it.

[Just as quick, Falcon whipped out his gun and a tense standoff ensued. What a pain in the ass. He'd rather not make a mess of the crook back here, especially when he'd be worth more alive then dead. He guessed some things couldn't be helped though. The sooner he got this over with the sooner he could decide if this was going to be the night he felt brave enough to give that mysterious probably-Samus's-phone-number a ring. He could brag to her about the scumbag he just nailed, it'd be great.]

He's so focused on the game and reading the poor saps he's swindling that he doesn't notice a short stack of angel in the road house. Perhaps because Gabriel doesn't want to be noticed, but that's totally up to him.]

[God what a mess.

He'd like to think he'd handled it well. As well as he could losing the last of his family, his friend, and watching the world spin on like Adam and Sam weren't trapped in a box with two pissed off archangels for the rest of frigg'n eternity. Everything that lead up to it and he can't, won't, talk about it. Not to Lisa. Not to Ben. He just. Sleeps in the spare room, helps her around the house, looks for work in the small town where she lives. It's only been a week. he doesn't have that much by way of credentials so it'll take a little time.

Lisa's practically angelic, the real kind, the right kind, with how she helps him. How she's patient. But tonight he doesn't want the kindness or the quiet night staying in a cozy bed that doesn't have a bad spring or wallpaper that actually matches the rest of the goddamn house.

He's out.

Drinking around Ben always leaves him a little tense. Remembers how much it screwed him up, watching his dad doing it. Different life, different standards. He keeps his drinking to the bars. Tries to keep how much he has to a minimum. Compared to his usual, it ain't saying much. He's off in a corner, shoulders hunched, leather jacket that still smells like dirt and blood and the singed air from the hellhole.

He shudders, slugs down another finger of whiskey, taps the bar for another. He'll be here awhile.]

[Well, now, someone with much the same attitude is there at the bar, as well. He'd be much more surprised to see Mr. Winchester if he wasn't so preoccupied with staying out from under Heaven's radar, himself. The Apocalypse wasn't something that was easy for an angel just to slip away from...

[The tavern is a dark, crowded place, filled with so many people muttering in low voices that the sound seems to roar in the air. The scent of alcohol was unmistakably potent.

One only has to look at Siegfried to mark him as a stranger here. The prince is perched uneasily on a stool, dressed "plainly" in a loose white shirt with gold buttons and embroidered leggings, neither of which will do anything to hide the stains of dark sauce that are guaranteed with this kind of food. His back is straight and shoulders square, perfect poise shining in contrast to how others hunch or lounge back. He's glancing around with the eagerness of a tourist, too; for all that he loves people, he so rarely goes among them like this.

Quietly, he speaks to his companion.]

This truly is quite popular, isn't it?

[Say what you will about Gotham City. Talk all you want about its crazies, the corruption in its police force, or that one guy who has nothing better to do than dress up in his overpriced Halloween costume all year round...

Nobody does the desperate, shady dive better than ol' Gotham. And, here, at Shooter's (which is totally not affiliated with that restaurant that has a similar sounding name), the assassin, known as Deadshot, ordered his usual nightcap of gin from the tap.

Floyd'd just finished playing his part, taking out trash for Uncle Sam, and his records were recently cleaned; even though he could probably afford to be seen in a less seedy part of town, he stuck to his guns and hung around his usual place. Nothing could beat Shooter's and its lousy atmosphere--and, when you drank like Floyd did, you needed a lousy atmosphere to really appreciate the drink.

Would there be a bar-fight tonight? Maybe a new face dropping by? Who knew.]

[Feda, like most professional adventurers, was naturally inclined towards looking for work in bars. It made perfect sense. When people were deep in trouble, they went to drown their troubles and could be convinced to spend some cash on something to fix the problem instead. Others knew that adventurers hung out in bars, and upon seeing a tall guy with no shirt and a machete the size of his torso it was clear he was the man for the job.

It helped that he quite liked the waiting process too. Bars were fun places. He liked a drink and had a few gone, sitting up a foot up on his table and his chair balancing on two legs in that exact way kids are told not to, keeping an eye on the crowd.]

[So he liked a drink. And sometimes he liked a whole lot of them at once, which was how he got into long rambling stories about long completed adventures. He'd picked up a drinking buddy, or possibly a girl he was hitting on, and had them cornered as he told a slightly disjointed tale of fighting a gigantic tiger made from steel on a frozen mountain. He wasn't completely sloshed as yet, but had simply glossed over a number of details.]

...So there it was, him and me, facing each other in this clearing... We'd been stalkin' one another for a week at this point- My sense o' smell was probably as good as his, yah know? So finally eye each other up, at long last we're eye to eye. Completely silent, you know, completely. He's got these pure blue eyes and we're locked, not moving a muscle.

[She's got a rather large table to herself in the corner of the dimly lite bar, a coldness rushing through the place anytime somebody opened the door to step in or out. Oddly enough, it was one of the only places Tara felt like she could actually get some work done and though it was perhaps not her best judgement to be working on patient charts in such a place -- well shit, work was getting done wasn't it?

With a foot propped up in one of the chairs across from her, the doc furrow her brow a bit while her fingers ran over the neck of the amber bottle by her side. Tara hardly drank, the occasional beer and perhaps if things were going horrible the hard stuff but, growing up with an alcoholic father it kind of steered her from making it an everyday thing.

Lifting her eyes up from the papers laid before her she slowly let them drift around the bar, same crowd it seemed - nothing changed around here.]

[Tonight, Natsuru's all dressed up, courtesy of her friends (or possibly one in particular), and has been dragged out to a club. She looks vaguely uncomfortable and unusually self-conscious, perched alone on a bar stool. Hoping none of the strangers surrounding her decides to chat her up before her friends get back. She hasn't even considered the plus side: maybe she'll get free drinks out of this...]

[... Or she's patiently waiting for Souko, in a not quite so crowded room. When the subject of 'practice' - or was it 'training'? - came up, she hadn't expected to be dressed up like this and dragged out to a club of all places. What could that girl possibly have in mind?]

[The night was still young by the time Souko was done dressing herself up. She was wearing a wonderful short dark gray dress that had different straps on the top of her shoulders; her shoes and choice of accessories were both modest, but proper for an evening out on the dance floor of one of her classmate's favorite nightclub to visit.

She can only assume her friend, Senou, would feel more comfortable at the chosen destination than the other types of similar establishments to visit from. The establishment was quite high class in the way that only the most fashionable and most desired would be allowed to enter. This way neither of them will have too many interruptions. Especially when Souko promised her friend to train her in the arts of acting like a proper young lady which includes the art of manipulation and seduction.

After being allowed to enter the club, Souko will begin to search for her dear friend through the crowd of people. Luckily the club was not entirely filled with people, so she was able to spot her acquaintance. A hand will lightly touch her friend's shoulder as she offers her one of her best smile.]

Senou-san, good evening. It is wonderful to be able to meet with you like this today. Did I keep you waiting by any chance?
