[Lindsey hesitated although to the eye, his arrogance remained unshaken. If the telepath was showing returning powers, he shouldn't still be here. But they needed to get on Xavier's good side, and damn if that wasn't going downhill.]

We need you. [He said, switching tactics.] That is the truth. We are aware that people who don't fit in this world sometimes get stranded here and we try to help them, but in your case, you have the ability to help us too.

[Glad the telepath was acting subdued, Lindsey stepped back away from the doorway and approached him again. He looked over him on the bed and tried to imagine that kind of power described in the files, all possessed by one man. He couldn't.]
