Or maybe you're up at a ridiculous hour in the morning because they're crying like crazy. 02] just married Congratulations! You and your loved (?) one are about to start a whole new life together! It's time for the honeymoon... 03] house hunting Are you seeking out an apartment? A dream house? Or just any old place, as long as you're with your other? They ward the bunker a little more, and Dean heals up, slowly but surely, the burn and cuts healing shiny and pink on his skin. More scars to add to the tons he has already but at least he's not dead.
Eventually, they get a lead on something to kill Abaddon - Crowley's grudgingly helpful, and it leaves them hunting halfway across the country to find the way to kill her. Pulling into the hotel, Sam hauls everything up and settles himself at the table in the corner, instantly getting down to research now that they're settled. Dean, on the other hand, glances over at Cas a moment, realizing they've been rolling with this thing between them, sure, but the whole hotel dynamics have changed. Hesitating a moment, he tosses the bag down on the bed and glances at Cas. ]

It's been different between him and Dean, mainly in small, private ways. Sharing a bed hasn't happened thus far, but they've reached for each other's hands when they knew Sam wasn't watching, or sat a little too close together while playing with Boots.
Castiel isn't prepared for Dean to make such a suggestion, especially with Sam right there. He glances up from his own bag, stunned for a moment, before nodding slowly.]

He's crashed in enough chairs, and if they're going to go hunting for something to kill a demon, they're going to be doing hotel rooms a lot and while it's not their money, this is dumb.
They're queens, anyway. Not like he hasn't shared a bed with Sam before. (Of course it's different, but.)
Sam, to his credit, doesn't even seem to notice the conversation, thumbing his laptop on while Dean starts sorting through his clothing. ]
Okay. I'm ordering pizza. We'll crash a few hours and hit the place in the morning and hopefully find something.

There's another part of him that's worried about Kevin and Boots, left to defend the bunker on their own, but considering one of them is a dragon who is capable of breathing fire, it may be that he's concerned over nothing.
Pizza sounds good, and so Castiel nods to Dean before unpacking his things and then moving to take a seat on the bed.

Finding this blade isn't going to be easy. Most didn't even believe it actually existed.

Yeah, well, it's gotta exist. We'll find it.
[ Sam glances over at the conversation, settling himself on his bed, long legs stretched out with his laptop plopped on top. Yeah, it won't be easy but they'll figure it out. They don't have any other option. ]
There's enough that we've found that'll get us started. From there it's just putting the pieces together. We have a starting location - that's a lot better than nothing.
[ Dean glances over at Cas, raising his eyebrows, mouthing, see? ]

That blade once belonged to Cain, after all. As the tool in the first act of human violence, it's no doubt extremely powerful.]
There's bound to be someone guarding it.
[Either that, or it will be in some impossible-to-find place. But if that's the case, then they'll need to find whoever has that information.
For now, though, what they need to immediately focus on is getting rest. Castiel eyes Dean, wondering when he's going to stop moving around nervously and settle onto the bed.]

[ not like it's that hard, okay, they'll figure something out. And yeah, he's planning on getting into the bed eventually, it's just - it's fucking weird right now, okay, give him a second. He'll get his shit under control eventually.
It takes a shower, dinner and a laptop in his lap but he finally does settle, and it's-- god, it's so fucking weird, okay, he's got his feet under the blankets, and it feels like he's some kind of old married dude, waiting for his wife or something.
Sam's already sacked out in the bed opposite, doing an impressive impression of a starfish in his sleep, taking up the whole goddamn bed, his soft breathing more soothing than anything else in the room. ]

Not that he intends on turning away or bailing out. He's here until the end with Sam and Dean, and he's even prepared to give his life if he has to.
Granted, that isn't exactly part of his plan, but the point is that his loss of power hasn't curbed his devotion.
Castiel goes through a few slices of pizza and then takes a shower after Dean, wandering out of the bathroom in pajamas and toweling damp hair as he goes to get on his side of the bed.
He peers at the laptop, speaking under his breath so as to not disturb Sam.] What are you doing?

Trying to find anything on it while we have an internet connection, mostly.
[ Killing time so he doesn't act like a fucking weirdo when Castiel finally crawls into bed. He finally does, though, and Dean slides the laptop shut and under the bed so he doesn't sit on it, stretching out on his back.
Normally, he's better at this. He hasn't forgotten how to do this - casual things like just laying in bed but it's not like this is the normal way. ]
You brush your teeth and floss and do mouthwash?
[ Teasing is easier, and it dodges subjects he'd rather not bring up. ]

Castiel's in the middle of trying to work his legs under the covers when Dean checks with him on his oral hygiene, as if he's a child who has to be monitored.
He's quiet for a moment, glaring at the wall before he confesses.]
... I don't enjoy flossing.
[Which means he's been avoiding it. Why does so much work have to be put into the care of teeth, of all thing?]

[ Dad had been super intense with regards to getting their teeth clean and keeping them that way when they were on the road. They didn't have time for cavities or poor hygiene in that aspect. ]
You'll like cavities a whole helluva lot less, though, let me tell you.
[ He stretches his arms up, wiggling in between the sheets and feels his back crack into place, a soft little mmm of contentment following. ]
Too bad you can't just angel squeegee them clean anymore.

What is it like? To get a cavity. Have you ever had one?
[It's true, hygiene and cleanliness had never been a concern of Castiel's before now. There's so much time of the day dedicated to it, between everything he has to do for his teeth and then showering. At least his hair dries on its own.]
When I try to get the floss between my teeth, my hands get in the way -- particularly with the molars.

Shitty. Got one and my dad got pissed.
[ It's not really funny to think about, not really, because he remembers at the time he'd been fucking crushed that his body had let him down when their dad depended on them for so much - when Sam did. It'd been barely anything at all but he'd missed candy and sugar a helluva lot after it all happened and his dad had practically outlawed it. ]
They gotta numb you up with needles and take a drill and drill out all the...stuff.
[ He rolls onto his side, daring to actually look at Cas. ]
We can get you these like- hell, I dunno what they're called. Little flosser things. Make it easier to get those spots.

At the description of what it all entails, Castiel puts a hand up to his mouth and frowns deeply, horrified at the very idea of being put through something like that. All because of tooth decay?
It's barbaric.]
I'll need to become more serious about taking care of my teeth. I'm willing to try these... flosser things.
[Whatever they are.]

[ Dean rolls over and gives him an appraising little look, his lips twitching into a smirk. ]
You'd probably like something weird like bubble gum or something.

[Castiel frowns, not certain he likes the sound of that. Things that are overly sweet don't tend to work well with his palette, something that Dean seems eternally bothered by.]
We'll have to find out.
[That's one of the decent parts about being human, he has a whole new set of things to learn. It isn't all bad, he'll admit that. For instance, being able to shift over slightly and rest his head on Dean's shoulder. It's a small thing, but something he finds he enjoys.
He's still getting used to indulging in the things that he likes, even when it's something like this.]

[ He knows Cas is weird about sweets but it's kind of funny all the same. He thinks he'd probably hate the bubblegum flavor anyway - wasn't enough like bubblegum for it to be good, no doubt. Either way, the talk about toothpaste and teeth care fades to the background when Castiel shifts over and puts his head on Dean's shoulder. Jesus, he's turning into a frigging chick over here. There's a brief pause of hesitation and then Dean reaches around and shifts, rolling onto his back so Cas can settle against his side, Dean's arm curled around his shoulders. ]
Smooth, man.
[ Though for all his teasing, he approves. ]

He shifts around as Dean re-positions himself , and soon enough they're lying side by side, flush against each other. Castiel has learned by now that Dean is very comfortable.
He makes note of the sarcasm and smiles briefly.]

Cas, thankfully, doesn't seem to have the same inhibitions; he curls up flush against him and Dean presses his face into messy, dark hair with a little yawn. ]

[He delivers it in that neutral way to make it almost impossible to tell if he's serious or actually teasing. He wouldn't mind getting some idea of what Dean likes, though, if only to surprise him with it later.]
