It happens to everyone - sometimes, you have nights where you just can't fall asleep, no matter what you do. It could be for a number of reasons, or no reason at all. And this is what's happened now: you've been laying in bed for what feels like hours, just tossing and turning, and nothing seems to help. So what's left to do? Get out of bed and go wake someone else up, of course. If you're not getting any sleep, then why should they? i n s t r u c t i o n s • Post with your character (note the name and fandom in the subject). • Other people reply to you by generating a number from 1 to 10. • Have fun! o p t i o n s 01 • FEAR. Maybe you're hearing strange, indeterminable noises; maybe there's a severe storm happening outside; maybe you watched a scary movie before bed? Whatever the reason, you're terrified and it's keeping you awake. You just want to wake someone else up so they can protect you from the monster in your closet. 02 • HUNGER. Your stomach is growling and it just won't stop. Or perhaps your throat is so dry you could cough up a tumbleweed? Well, you've gone to the kitchen to remedy this and hey, that was a pan that just dropped on the floor. It was loud enough to wake the dead! Oops. 03 • PAIN. Your body is completely worn out, be it from exercise, battle, sickness, or what have you. Either way you're in enough pain to keep you from sleeping, so maybe someone else has a home remedy or something, or can at least help you take your mind off of it. 04 • SOLITUDE. For some reason, your bed just feels so empty at the moment. You're feeling terribly lonely and really just want someone to keep you company for a while. Maybe it'd be easier to fall asleep if you're with them... 05 • DISCOMFORT. Your room is an oven. Either that or a freezer. Or maybe this bed is just really uncomfortable? Who knows why you can't get to sleep, it feels like it could be anything. Why even bother trying? Maybe someone else can preoccupy you until you feel tired enough to ignore your discomfort. 06 • PENSIVE. Something's on your mind, and no matter how hard you try to focus elsewhere, it's just not going to work. Your body may be tired, but your mind is incredibly busy and it's virtually impossible to get to sleep. Surely, talking it out with someone else will help? 07 • SADNESS. Something terrible has happened that day, perhaps; or you could just be severely depressed. Either way you're trying your hardest not to cry yourself to sleep, and it's not working at all. Better find a way to get it out of your system somehow; you need a shoulder to cry on. 08 • ANGER. You are just... fuming. Who knows why - that annoying dog is barking again, or maybe the people next door are getting busy and keeping you awake. Whatever the reason for your ire is, you'd better put an end to it so you can get some damn rest already! Go wake up a friend so you can complain to them. 09 • RESTLESS. You're far too energetic to sleep right now. Maybe you're just trying to do so out of necessity - you have to be up early tomorrow! But you just don't think you'll be able to fall asleep for a while now, so why waste the time trying to sleep when you could be doing something else? Namely bothering someone else - you're totally jealous because they're getting more sleep than you. 10 • WILDCARD. Choose one of the options above, or make up your own scenario. |

[It's said with a touch of fondness and a shake of the head. Really, Lelouch, really?]
I would love to, yes.
[She laughs.]
He'll have to get to used to it, he's going to have an entire palace of aunts wanting to show him off.
no subject
I can go back to my room and come back with them in a few minutes, if you don't mind. [She began to stand up.]
no subject
Of course I don't mind! Did you want me to accompany you? I could use a break from reading.
no subject
Sure, I don't mind you coming with me. It's not that far anyway.
no subject
Then lead the way.
[She giggles as she gestures, but she wants to take this at Ryou's pace.]
no subject
[Though, after immediately thinking that, she feels horrible, thinking of Nunnally beside her and immediately shuts that thought up. Bad thought, Ryou. Bad.]
He might go to sleep sooner now that I'm walking again. [She hopes so, at least.]
no subject
I wonder which of you the baby will take after?
[For all they knew, the child was probably scheming away already in there.]
no subject
Well... the white hair in my family was a recessive gene that only showed up randomly in a few generations, so... he's more likely to have Lelouch's hair color, since his would be the more dominant trait. [Unless dark hair was also a recessive trait, but it usually wasn't, according to her book.
But this is anime after all. The hair colors are made up and the points don't matter.]But he could always surprise us, I'm sure...
no subject
True. Although Lelouch inherited our mother's looks, I ended up with more of Father's coloring, although Brother did get the same shade of eyes that Father had.
[She nods.]
That's true, I'm still not entirely sure where Euphemia or Cornelia got their hair color from, to be honest.
no subject
Didn't they get it from their mother, then, if they didn't inherit your father's colorings like you did? [Again, she didn't know much about the royal family, other than Lelouch and Nunnally having a lot of half brothers and sisters and that the former Emperor wasn't a very nice person, to say the least.]
Maybe he'll look like you, since the DNA is probably there from your brother's genes. [She can't help the smile and small laugh there. Wouldn't Lelouch like for that to happen.]
no subject
[Her voice is thoughtful as she thinks.]
Or it could be that she didn't like us. Most of the other consorts didn't, because of Mother's commoner background.
[She smiles, but shakes his head.]
I hope he looks like either you or Brother. Both looks are exotic, in my opinion.
no subject
[Though, she does blush a little bit at the exotic comment.]
W-well, he will be part Britannian and part Japanese. Maybe that'll influence his looks a little bit...
no subject
Perhaps. I think it's wonderful, honestly, that you and brother are having a baby. My own little nephew to spoil.
[Especially since she knows there's a very good chance she'll never have a child of her own.]
no subject
You'll definitely be one of the first ones, I'm sure.
[It wasn't a long walk back to the room, especially when she had someone with her for once. She turned on the light once they entered.]
Hmmm.... now where did I put those pictures...
no subject
Of course, one of the first, and the first of many.
[She keeps out of the way as Ryou flips the switch, staying by the door to allow the other some room. She knows her chair takes up some room, and she wants to keep herself out the way as the other looks.]
no subject
He definitely has a lot of aunts and uncles ready to spoil him rotten once he is born. [Not just Nunnally and Lelouch, of course. There was also Milly and Lelouch's academy friends, Kallen, C.C., probably a few dignitaries, both Britannian and Japanese, and probably a lot more she isn't thinking about just yet.]
[She finally does find the envelope in her desk, not as highly guarded as Lelouch's desk, but it definitely wasn't in plain sight for anyone to pick up either.]
no subject
Not to mention the rest of the palace staff as well.
[When Ryou finds the envelope, Nunnally slowly guides her chair closer to see.]
no subject
[She moves over to a chair that's close to Nunnally. She was still tired, but he still wasn't ready to give up the fight just yet. Stubborn little brat already, he was. She pulls out the pictures, handing them over to the princess.]
These are a few weeks old by now, almost a month I think. He's turned around since then, and is a bit bigger now, but I guess these are his first baby pictures.
no subject
She lets out a little 'oh' of surprise.]
Have you thought about creating a baby book for him? You know, something to tease him with to all his future dates?
no subject
[She hoped that that would never happen. It breaks her heart sometimes, thinking of that possibility. She hasn't told anyone about it since not many know about her being the Ring bearer. She might have an inkling that Lelouch might know, and that he would do everything in his power to prevent that from happening... but still, it kept her on edge and up at night when her son wasn't the one doing so.]
... Maybe not to embarrass him with it, but it could be something precious for him, something that I could give to him when he becomes an adult. [She doesn't have much to call her own since she isn't royalty like Nunnally and Lelouch, or even having a proper title like the other members of court, so the things that she could give him probably weren't going to be worth much in the future, if sentimental value counted for anything.]
Maybe on my next outing, I can look for a scrapbook of some sort. [Not a blue one because that would just be giving information away, if someone outside of the know was able to see the book before the prince was born.]
no subject
That would be wonderful. Brother and I... the royal children weren't allowed to keep commemorative artifacts, so other then a few paintings, we really don't have much left to remind us of Mother. The only other thing that I have is half of Mother's Knighting plate, that Euphie gave me.
[She smiles looking through the pictures again.]
I wish I could go with you, but I fear that I might be even more recognizable then Lelouch.
no subject
[Not that she was one to talk, since she doesn't have anything from her life previous to the Invasion... save for a photograph. She debates showing it to Nunnally, since it's the only piece left of her family, when times were happier and simpler, when Britannia was just a faraway fairy tale that had no place in her child mind.]
...I'm afraid all I have left of my family is an old photograph...where we were all dressed up for New Years, getting ready to pray at the local temple for a good year. It was one of the last times I've wore a formal kimono...[It didn't turn out to be a good year because of Britannia invading Japan, but they didn't know that at the time. Her and Amane do look adorable in winter kimonos, though.]
Y-you're more than welcome to help me make one, though, Nunnally. A baby book, I mean.
no subject
I'm sorry, Ryou.
[And she was, for all that Britannia had done. This like this, people's lives being torn part, families torn asunder, were part of the reason she wanted that kinder, gentler world.]
Really? I would love that.
no subject
[At least now the world was on that path to becoming gentler and kinder. So that everyone can start to heal from the wounds of the past.]
I might have to make a copy of that photograph... to put in the memory book for him. [Though, with what Nunnally said, she might feel bad about him not knowing about the Britannian side of his family and not having any keepsakes or anything about his paternal grandparents. Matter of fact, it was doubtful that he had any grandparents at all. Who even knows where her father is now...]
We can also find more current pictures of all of us to put in there.
no subject
It would be nice - to give him some idea of his heritage. I could see if I could find some photographs of Mother. I'm sure there has to be some in an archive somewhere of her Knighting ceremony at least. Especially considering the big to-do the Knights of the Round ceremonies were.
[She smiles.]
... do you think that perhaps we should add some others as well. Shirley and those that died? I'm sure he'll hear of us talk of them and I would hate... I would hate for them to end up forgotten.
