It happens to everyone - sometimes, you have nights where you just can't fall asleep, no matter what you do. It could be for a number of reasons, or no reason at all. And this is what's happened now: you've been laying in bed for what feels like hours, just tossing and turning, and nothing seems to help. So what's left to do? Get out of bed and go wake someone else up, of course. If you're not getting any sleep, then why should they?   i n s t r u c t i o n s • Post with your character (note the name and fandom in the subject). • Other people reply to you by generating a number from 1 to 10. • Have fun!   o p t i o n s 01 • FEAR. Maybe you're hearing strange, indeterminable noises; maybe there's a severe storm happening outside; maybe you watched a scary movie before bed? Whatever the reason, you're terrified and it's keeping you awake. You just want to wake someone else up so they can protect you from the monster in your closet. 02 • HUNGER. Your stomach is growling and it just won't stop. Or perhaps your throat is so dry you could cough up a tumbleweed? Well, you've gone to the kitchen to remedy this and hey, that was a pan that just dropped on the floor. It was loud enough to wake the dead! Oops. 03 • PAIN. Your body is completely worn out, be it from exercise, battle, sickness, or what have you. Either way you're in enough pain to keep you from sleeping, so maybe someone else has a home remedy or something, or can at least help you take your mind off of it. 04 • SOLITUDE. For some reason, your bed just feels so empty at the moment. You're feeling terribly lonely and really just want someone to keep you company for a while. Maybe it'd be easier to fall asleep if you're with them... 05 • DISCOMFORT. Your room is an oven. Either that or a freezer. Or maybe this bed is just really uncomfortable? Who knows why you can't get to sleep, it feels like it could be anything. Why even bother trying? Maybe someone else can preoccupy you until you feel tired enough to ignore your discomfort. 06 • PENSIVE. Something's on your mind, and no matter how hard you try to focus elsewhere, it's just not going to work. Your body may be tired, but your mind is incredibly busy and it's virtually impossible to get to sleep. Surely, talking it out with someone else will help? 07 • SADNESS. Something terrible has happened that day, perhaps; or you could just be severely depressed. Either way you're trying your hardest not to cry yourself to sleep, and it's not working at all. Better find a way to get it out of your system somehow; you need a shoulder to cry on. 08 • ANGER. You are just... fuming. Who knows why - that annoying dog is barking again, or maybe the people next door are getting busy and keeping you awake. Whatever the reason for your ire is, you'd better put an end to it so you can get some damn rest already! Go wake up a friend so you can complain to them. 09 • RESTLESS. You're far too energetic to sleep right now. Maybe you're just trying to do so out of necessity - you have to be up early tomorrow! But you just don't think you'll be able to fall asleep for a while now, so why waste the time trying to sleep when you could be doing something else? Namely bothering someone else - you're totally jealous because they're getting more sleep than you. 10 • WILDCARD. Choose one of the options above, or make up your own scenario.

[Nunnally smiles and shakes her head once.]

No, of course not. I've been staying up late for the past few nights anyway.

[She wanted to ask what was wrong, why she was staying up so late, especially if it's been a 'few' nights. But then she remembered why and she looked down, a little embarrassed. But there is a tiny bit of a smile after a minute.]

Does Lelouch know you're up this late?

[She giggles softly.]

I haven't said anything to him and he hasn't said anything to me, but I can't imagine he doesn't. This is Lelouch we're talking about.

[Lelouch did have a way of knowing things, after all. Sometimes, it was almost creepy what he knew and how fast he thought of things.]

Do you get to sleep in though? [She needs her rest as well. Don't turn into your brother and not get any sleep unless forced to.]

I do, yes.

[Although at times Anya has to come and forcefully put her to bed, but yes, she does.]

[That was relieving at least. She didn't feel as bad if Nunnally could sleep in later after staying up late. Unlike her who just gets woken up whenever she gets kicked in the ribs. Speaking of which, still doing that. Brat.]

Since he's so active right now... do you want to feel him moving? He seems too excited to sleep right now...

[Nunnally looks slightly startled that Ryou offered. Even though Nunnally had wanted to in the past, she's seen how annoying it can get when everyone and their cousin sees a pregnant woman and decides to feel their belly. Nunnally hadn't wanted to add her name to the ranks.]

Oh! May I?

[It was just annoying when people just assumed that it was okay to touch her without asking first. She a bit more compliant when people asked, but not by much, since she really doesn't like being touched by strangers, especially the extra touchy-feely ones.]

[At least an unkind or stern look from Suzaku or Kallen usually turned the touchy-feely ones away after her saying no wasn't enough.]

[She stood up and moved the chair closer to Nunnally, so that she had an easier time reaching. This might be more special to Nunnally, she thought, since she used to be blind and had used to use her hands to 'see' for most of her life. She tested to see where he could be felt from the outside.]

Yeah, it's okay. I just prefer people asking me first before touching.

...Kallen actually had to step in one time and punch a guy because he wouldn't take no for an answer. [Granted, the guy was also a pervert with a kink that had wanted to lift her skirt and rubbing the belly did have a tendency to move her clothes around, so...]

[Nunnally reached out, just stopping short when Ryou started talking, raised her eyes in alarm.]

... and that's all she did?

[She has a hard time believing that, actually, knowing Kallen. And she wondered if Lelouch knew about this as well.]

[Well... she was keeping it to the brief version...]

... There was a lot of yelling, Kallen standing in front of me, telling the guy off. ...Now that I think about it, she kicked him in the stomach too. He had given up by that point and just left. Kallen apologized to me and got ice cream for both of us. I don't know if she reported the incident to your brother or not, he hasn't said anything about it if he does know. [She doesn't get that bad of a problem when she's out with Suzaku or Gino, as rarely as she's put with those two. Maybe they just assume that one or the other is the father and just naturally backed off. It does help that both of them look as if they could kill a man with their bare hands if given the incentive. Who knows, maybe they have.]

[Nunnally nods. That sounds more like the Kallen she knows.]

I haven't heard a word about it, but then again, this is Lelouch we're talking about.

[She wouldn't be surprised if he and Suzaku tracked the guy down and Geassed him into never touching a woman again. As much as Nunnally loathes to admit it, she can't deny that that would fall under the 'don't use it unless you are protecting us.' And she knows Suzaku would have let him do it without an argument.]

[Yes, this was Lelouch that they were talking about. Kallen could have told him about it, but that was a big if. The big scene that was caused with Kallen had scared her more than anything and the guy was kind of gross. Maybe she forgot about it and just didn't tell Lelouch or Suzaku about it.]

[Then again, she probably could have bragged about it and that's how they heard about it. You never know with these things.]

So... one or both hands?

[She blinks in surprise at the question, but holds out a hand. She'll let Ryou guide her, because even though Nunnally does want to feel the movement of her little nephew, this is Ryou's personal space we're talking about.]

[She holds onto Nunnally's hand carefully, keeping in mind what Lelouch and Suzaku had told her about Nunnally being able to tell if someone is lying by holding their hands. Not that she has anything to lie about since she's just letting the princess feel her stomach, but still, she was careful.]

[She gingerly led the hand over her, searching for the best spot. She feels a familiar kick in the ribs, so she starts on the top, moving down the side slightly. Yep, there he was. He was eager to find the hand that was touching him, his arm and hand touching hers.]

...Feels like he's trying to say hello to you, Nunnally.

... oh.

[Nunnally voice is soft and full of wonder, her lips curling into a delighted smile. She leans a little closer, not close enough to try and encroach even more on Ryou's personal bubble, but just so she can say:]

Why hello there, little one. I'm your Auntie Nunnally.

[Since he is old enough to hear sounds now, his response is naturally to reach out more towards the voice. It was different than his mother's voice and what he assumes is his father's voice with the first outside touches. Ryou smiles.]

He really likes you.

[Nunnally glances up at Ryou with a delighted smile.]

Do you really think so?

He does the same thing when I talk to him, or when Lelouch does. He hasn't gotten this excited for anyone else, save for the three of us. Guess he's figuring out who has my permission to touch by the way I feel and move and he'll respond accordingly. He doesn't move around as much when there's strangers touching us. But, if it is someone that I do know and if they ask first or I ask if they want to, then he will move around, if he's feeling up to it. [He still is a baby, after all, and not even born yet. He does get tired eventually.]

[She glances back down at her hand with a little fond smile.]

So young and already you have such a personality.

...He has a lot of energy too, from what I've felt. [It's getting tighter in there for him, so he might not be able to move around as much as he would like until he's born.]

Energetic and a strong personality. He's probably going to break a lot of hearts when he's older.

Well, hopefully he inherits his stamina from someone other then my brother.

[There's a giggle as she says it.]

If he's anything like Lelouch, he will be, yes. Left and right.

[Yes, let us both laugh at Lelouch's inability to be good at any sort of physical sport ever. That will never not be funny in any sort of way. She rubs the belly again, feeling like he's starting to settle down finally.]

How many did he have, if you know? [Might as well get all the dirty secrets of Lelouch's love life... or lack there of, since he didn't seem to care much for women outside of family and close friends.]

[Apparently, it all went to his mind.]

Lelouch...? I lost track, honestly.

[If only that worked the same way for the rest of us.]

Did he ever get love letters or chocolate or anything? [Again, might as well ask Nunnally, since she knew Lelouch the best for this kind of information.]

[It takes her a minute, thinking, before she lets out a quiet 'oh.']

... I bet that's where all the chocolate came from. I used to wonder, but he always assured me not to worry about it. Sayako-san never seemed concerned, so I never pressed.
