Chuck really doesn't see why there has to be a 'Its Not The End Of The World' fancy party. A celebration, yeah, most of the world has been partying since Chuck woke up a month ago, and he'd been asleep for a week after the breach had been closed.

It's not as if he could even manage to find a proper date for this thing.

Still. They'd wanted a party, honoring the job that they did, honoring the falling Rangers, so the survivors had to pretty up and make nice. Max hadn't been allowed, despite Chuck's insistence that he's basically Striker's mascot, so Chuck is...less than pleased. It's mostly political, anyway, no what Chuck would think of as your average citizen invited, and that's not sitting well. Partially because it means more politeness and less posturing, but mostly because it feels sort of off.

A few hours into this thing and Chuck's lurking by the windows, hiding and maybe pretending the sight of Becket in a suit isn't making his mouth go dry because damn. The blue is really bringing out his eyes, and the cut...Chuck keeps his eyes off of him.

[To say that Ronon doesn't handle having to wear a monkey suit well would be severely underselling the situation. He looks miserable, fidgeting constantly, his hands stuffed in his pockets to keep from reaching up and undoing his tie or pulling at his collar.

He also manages to look like a slightly terrifying model when he's standing still, though. The suit fits him perfectly and makes his already broad shoulders look incredibly intimidating.

[ hermann doesn't precisely understand vincent's routine when he gets ready for one of the endless number of parties, shows, and et cetera that he's often invited to. oh, he understands the motions, of course, and can catalog them neatly enough, but the necessity is often beyond him. he operates on numbers and equations, after all, and vincent most assuredly does not.

still, he finds it fascinating enough to watch as his brain finally comes down from that place it goes when he's working. despite his often incomprehensible nature and personality, vincent is nevertheless.. soothing, somehow. it's actually absolutely terrifying how much hold and influence he has on hermann, and if it was anyone else in the world, the scientist would be concerned about that. thankfully, he is precisely who he needs to be.

stripped down to shirt and trousers and socks, leaning heavily on his cane, he blinks mildly at vincent's back from the doorway. for a moment, he can't recall the date or why the other man is dressed so beautifully, but the details surface with a little prompting.

making a small noise under his breath, he limps across the room, stopping in front of the other man. he leans the cane against his thigh, then reaches up, brushing vincent's fingers away from his tie to finish it himself. ]

[Raleigh had no idea that he found a girl wearing a suit so attractive until right this moment and the ironic sense of humor side of him points out that he's been constantly surprised in a good way by Mako Mori since he met her. And completely in awe of her anyway.

He's actually speechless for a minute after she opens the door. It's a press thing or gala or he's not sure what is actually expected from them except to put on nice clothes and let people take pictures of them for saving the world.

And Mako is wearing a suit and he kind of wishes they weren't already running late because he kind of wants to grab her and push her into the nearest wall and kiss her until he can't breathe.]

Considering all the tumblr posts about julien and his tie-loss lately....

The tie is. Somewhere on his workbench. Probably actually rigging two pieces of his apparatus together so things don't fall apart. The jacket was tossed haphazardly over the back of his chair with the cuffs dragging on the floor. His sleeves are rolled up past his elbows, out of the way. Don't even mention how askew his collar is. At least he hasn't lost any buttons.

He has to be in the carriage for an Event in fifteen minutes.

Any interruptions of his Clearly Delicate Work That Can't Wait Another Moment Longer will likely be met with knives.

[ the thing about graduations is that people expect a minimum level of decorum from professors. given that this is his son's graduation, even prof hansen couldn't get away with his usual laid-back style and so luna got to watch him all evening long in a suit that fits far too well to the lines of his body. she's kept her hands to herself and it's been a difficult feat; instead of running them over his back, she's smoothing down her dress for the millionth time tonight.

she's here as his date; chuck doesn't even mind anymore most of the time that herc is dating again. hell, three days ago, he'd stopped by herc's place and found only luna in a long shirt of his dad's making pancakes and they'd actually chatted amicably. in as far as anything chuck hansen ever does can be described as amicable, anyway.

chuck and some others have already gone god knows where and they've almost made the round of people they're expected to meet and greet. really, luna likes parties, she just doesn't like having to keep her hands off herc in a suit. ]
