I wish I could, but we got some pretty big news almost right after we got back from the honeymoon. Ashley has a kid half-brother we're now responsible for.
He's ten. So far he's taking everything a lot better than I would. We got him enrolled in school here and I still have to figure out what's going to happen when the season starts. I was going to go to Boulder with Ashley, but obviously you can't just yank a kid out of school for a few months.
He's okay. Emotional, of course. He feels guilty for me being stressed out. But I have so much respect for him immediately stepping up and getting on a plane to get his brother, you know? It wasn't really a choice.
I bet you'll do pretty well. Of course you can. You don't even need to ask, come by any time you want. And hey, if you need a babysitter or anything, you can always call, okay?
I appreciate that. I'll let you know once we figure out how this is supposed to work, because right now all I'm doing is confusing myself trying to sort it.
Ashley's taking me out for a spa day tomorrow, so maybe by then I'll be able to brain correctly.
