Well... Except for a momentary glitch with woodpecker suit, it went alright.

Woodpecker suit? What happened?

[beingthecreature]

Uh-hah, well... [How best to put this?]

You know how actual woodpeckers have the spongy cushioning in their skull to prevent headaches and other damage? [He shrugs, rubbing the back of his head.] Well initially the suit... didn't. That was accidentally left out.

Oh...oh gosh. Are you okay?

[beingthecreature]

Oh yeah, yeah! [He waved his hands, nodding.] I'm fine now. Just came out of that day a little extra rattled, that's all.

Mmm...well, okay... [She makes a note to keep an eye on him anyway.] So what happened with the beetles?

[beingthecreature]

We collected them up, at least the ones that woodpeckers in the forest hadn't started eating, and carried the captures back home to China. It took a few days, but I think we got 'em all.

Well, that's good...it does sound pretty tiring, though.

[beingthecreature]

A little, but it wasn't too bad with Martin and a couple of the Wild Kratts kids helping.

[She smiled, sitting beside him on the couch.] And the woodpecker suit? Fixed, I hope...

[beingthecreature]

Oh yeah, no problems with it whatsoever, now.

[strengthinkindness]

That's good. That's another suit you're going to have to show me sometime...

Definitely! Still have to show you gazelle sometime too, and some of the other African creatures.

[strengthinkindness]

[She nods, trying - and barely able - to contain her excitement at the thought.]

I can't wait...

[beingthecreature]

Neither can I. [A little adjustment of his foot nudged his pack and brought his attention to it, and he smiled after a moment. His hands came together for a moment then came apart, fingers spread, with a little shrug.]

Speaking of 'can't wait', I... brought a little something for you.

[strengthinkindness]

[She blinks, surprised.] For me...? What is it?

[beingthecreature]

Well... [He gives her a broad, if somewhat bashful smile, dragging his pack over and opening it, reaching both hands inside.]

I saw this and it made me think of you, and that day those deer came right up to your yard while I was here. That was really special, and I remember you enjoyed it a lot, so... [He pulls out a plush fawn, turning and holding it out to her.] Here. For you.

[Her eyes positively light up when she sees it.]

Oh my gosh...! It's so cute~...!

[She takes it from him, as gently as she can in her eagerness, and she can't help but give it a little snuggle. Looking up at him, she gives him the biggest, warmest smile.]

Thank you so much...! I love it...!

[beingthecreature]

[He smiles, his hands resting in his lap when she took the plush from him. The light on her face positively lifts his heart, showing in his own expression.]

You're welcome. I'm really glad you do.

[strengthinkindness]

[She snuggles it a little more, lowering it just a bit to look at it. Then she giggles.]

It kind of reminds me of you...

[beingthecreature]

[He laughed a little, looking from it to her.]

Really?

[strengthinkindness]

[She nodded with another giggle, lowering the fawn to her lap as she played with a little tuft of fur on its head.]

Can...I name it after you?

[beingthecreature]

[He blinked, then found his face growing just the tiniest bit hot.]

You want to...? Uh, sure! Yeah, go right ahead.

[strengthinkindness]

[If possible, her smile seemed to brighten even more.]

O-okay...Thanks, Chris.

[Snuggling the fawn doll a little longer, she then hesitates, a thoughtful expression on her face.]

A-actually...I, uh...h-have something for...you too...

[He smiled, but her next words got a curious look from him.] Y'do?
