❧ Please remember to be respectful of others while you play
Warning: Be aware that this meme deals with dark subjects like slavery and may also contain non-consensual/dubiously consensual sex, violence, and kink.
SLAVES
1. The Newbie - This is your very first auction and you don't quite know what to expect. Hopefully you remember your training and don't disgrace yourself in front of your new master. Hopefully someone thinks you're worth buying at all.
2. The Oldtimer - You've been bought and sold and bought again so many times. You've seen it all before and don't think this time is going to be much different. In fact, the only real anxiety you've got is whether or not someone's going to pay for a more than slightly used slave.
3. The Pet - You're a pleasure slave. A bed warmer. A decorative piece of artwork. You're meant to look pretty and be pleasing and not much else.
4. The Guard - Your master hired you because of your ability to swing a sword or shoot a gun, not your looks.
5. The Escape Artist - Somehow you always manage to squirm out of your master's chains. Too bad you seem to get caught after a while. Maybe your next daring escape will be permanent. Then again, maybe your next master has special ways of keeping you locked up.
6. The Undercover - You aren't a slave at all, you're just pretending to be one. Why? Well that's up to you. Either way, your cover is blown if you don't act the part.
7. The Specialist - You have a skill that no one else has. Something rare and valuable. Something your master needs more than anything else.
MASTERS
1. The Customer - You've owned slaves before and this trip to the market is nothing new to you. Still, you're hoping to find something worth your while.
2. The Gift - Someone bought a pet for you, isn't that nice of them? Or maybe it isn't so nice. Did you even want a slave in the first place? Well you're stuck with one now.
3. The Giver - You're selecting a slave for someone else, and they need to be perfect. Perhaps you'd better test them out first to make sure you're getting your money's worth.
4. The Trainer - You specialize in taming unruly slaves and making them over into perfect, obedient, well-trained pets.
5. The Rebel - You hate the idea of slavery, but the system isn't going to go away any time soon, so the next best thing is to buy up any slave you can get your hands on and free them, right?
6. The Companion - You want someone to be with you always, someone you can talk to and depend on, someone who will never leave your side. It's a good thing that money can buy that these days.
7. The Undercover - You're not actually a Master. You're at the auction for an entirely different reason. Maybe it's special policework, maybe you're trying to hunt down a certain someone. Either way, your cover is blown unless you act the part.
As always, feel free to use a combination of scenarios or make up your own if you have other ideas.

As soon as they stop, he's picking him up and carrying him into the emergency room. This place needs more funding and he can see that before anything else happens. Steve can only lobby for it a little. He's always done his best to help behind the scenes but that isn't easy to do.
"I just bought him at an auction house," Steve explains, following the doctor and laying Bucky out on the table of the room they go in. "They had him on a bunch of drugs. I couldn't tell you what. Something that made him docile. He started coming down from them in the car, shaking and he looked like he might throw up. He's been out now for about fifteen minutes."

He pushes a supply cart, "Another one?" The blond sighed pushing his fingers through the doctors tangle of curls and that seems to calm the man.
"Yeah, third one today." He nods opening pulling out the supplies and starts putting a tube down Bucky's throat. "Wear gonna pump his stomach." He says flatly. "Should bring him too, we'll give him fluilds after, he'll need to stay for a few hours, and he'll go through withdrawls when you get him home." The doctor says seriously.
"You can not give him anymore drugs, no matter what he asks for, could take a few days." He says turning on the machine and hooking up an IV.
no subject
"Whatever is necessary," he replies simply, shifting so he's out of the way. Steve nods in understanding, "I won't. I don't keep drugs in the house anyway."

Dr. Banner smiles at him a little, "You're going to be alright."
"You shoulda let me die." Bucky mumbles and the blond helping in the clinic has a look of understanding cross his face.
"Things'll get better soon, you'll see." Banner says shooting Steve another glare.

Steve is relieved when James starts to come to. It's hard to hear the man's response to still being alive but it'll take time. It's enough right now that he has the chance to prove it to him.
The doctor shooting him a glare gets one back. Steve is here isn't he? He's doing everything he can to make him comfortable. Any other slave master would have taken him back or dumped him on the side of the road to die. Steve is at a hospital.
"They will," he agrees. "I already told you I'm not like the rest."

Bruce looks over Steve for a moment then goes back to Bucky, "You'll be fine, you'll have the shakes for a bit, but a good meal and some help and you'll be fine." He says softly.
"Yeah... things are starting to get better." Clint nods fingers tracing the collar around his neck. "In some places anyway."
"I haven't seen anything good." Bucky says voice dry and gravelly from having his stomach pumped, he takes another sip of water and winces.
"Here..." Bruce opens the cabinet and pulls out a throat spray, "Open." He gives Bucky a couple of sprays and puts it back in the cabinet. "It will be sore for awhile that should help, you'll need to stay overnight get a few rounds of fluids in you."
"Alright." He says he looks over to Steve to see weather or not the man is going to listen to the doc.
no subject
Steve nods at the doctor's orders, "Alright, no problem. I'd rather make sure that he's healthy."
Of course, that means that he's staying too because he's not going to let the man escape. He has a feeling this hospital would happily ignore one of their slave patients disappearing otherwise.

Bucky looks at Steve for a moment blinking a little. "Who are you..." He asks not believing this man could be a slave owner.

Steve shifts to pull up the rickety chair that's sitting in the corner of the room and he tries to make himself comfortable.
"Captain Steve Rogers," he repeats from earlier. "Not everyone agrees with the slave trade. Unfortunately, there's a lot of pressure from higher up to own. I figure they want to keep it around as long as possible. Most of the revolution cells are still in the lower classes. Those of us that don't want to own but..." he tilts his head from side to side, unhappy with his choices of words. "...essentially have to. It's complicated, but we do our best to treat slaves as equals. You won't be mistreated with me; you have my word on that."

Clint comes back in a few minutes later with a couple of salami sandwiches chips and a big glass of milk. "Eat slow, or you'll puke... trust me, I know from experience." He grins a little, setting the tray next to Bucky's bed. "You can shower after you eat." He adds nodding to the bathroom. "I can get you a pair of clean scrubs."
"Thanks." Bucky nods his thanks to Clint and picks up a sandwich taking a small bite.

He glances back toward the door as Clint comes in with a couple sandwiches and Steve keeps quiet as the nurse talks, more than okay with the two interacting. Some masters might have a problem with it but he really is trying give the other man as much freedom as possible. The only hard thing about the hospital scenario is keeping him from running off.
"We'll get you some clothes when you feel up to it," Steve adds on the end of Clint's comment. "There are a few shops I know that don't care who you are so long as you can pay for things."

Bucky rolls his eyes at the offering of clothes and focuses eating the food Clint brought in for him. He couldn't figure out this guys angel.

He just shrugs, "Alright, we're just going to focus on getting you healed up."

Steve is quiet as Bucky finishes his food and the empty plates are taken away. He drums his fingers idly on the chair arm and offers, "You can ask me questions if you want. I'll answer."

It's not entirely true but it's not entirely a lie either. Technically he had been orphan in the government's care. They had just sold him off and then the scientists had found him to turn him into this.
"And I don't support the government entirely," he adds. "If I did, I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't have saved your life. I wouldn't be trying to make you comfortable. We're not all bad."
no subject
"I would have rather died for the cause, then be someone's bed warmer." But with one arm he's not much help to the cause now.
no subject
He takes a deep breath, “And I told you, I’m not interested in that.”

Clint comes back in and sets a clean pair of scrubs on the nightstand in the room, and checks the fluid pack, removing it and the IV for the moment.
"You're gonna need another round of fluids in a few hours, but you can shower now though."
He looks between them and Steve before moving out of the room.
