Who said anything about a tragedy? Isn't that your area of expertise anyway. The Greek loved their tragedies.

I was a nurse in both world wars, I keep falling in love with mortals, I’ve had a bit of tragedy.

I'd say I've been around longer than most already. Few mutants have an enhanced healing factor like I do.

I heal really quickly too, and I don’t die, but I sort of pass out for a few hours or days.

Waking up in a fucking funeral pyre sucks very bad.

There isn't any "before". You're born a mutant. I feel pain the same as most do. But I grown a higher tolerance over the decades.

There's a big difference between mutants and other "superheroes". You'd be wise to remember that.
