Life is hard. You can go through rough patches and over bumps, and sometimes it feels as though you're definitely worse for the wear, both physically and mentally. It's nice to have someone - someone more than a friend - there for you in those times...even if you don't think you want them or deserve them. But they're here, and they'll take care of you.

How to Play:
* This is a shipping meme for more tender, soft moments, but a little more serious than your usual "fluff." It's for people who've been broken down by their experience and those who wish to heal them.
* Comment with your character/your preferences. You may also want to specify whether your character will be the one "cared for" or the one doing the "caring" + pertinent information, but for most effectiveness, it's best to be open to both.

1. Know You've Been Hurt By Someone Else: There are scars left on their heart from a past relationship or fling, and you have to let them know you're not the same way.
2. Can Tell By the Way You Carry Yourself: The person you have feelings for is one of those "cold stone wall" types who pushes people away. Can you get past that?

[He stands up, tugging her lightly with him. They probably shouldn't hold hands, not out there, not in front of the people and the cameras where Snow will see him, but what is one more person to hold against him anyway?]

And then you can be home.

[She nods, and it's extremely doubtful she's going to let go of his hand, even once they're outside. She feels like he's the only thing keeping her grounded, right now, otherwise she'll curl in on herself and hide where no one can find her for a very long time. In any case, she follows him outside, staring through the windows at the faces outside as they move -- but once they're there, she immediately ducks her head so she can hide, or at least try to.]

[He squeezes her hand gently as they walk outside, and there's definite murmuring. What's Finnick Odair doing holding Annie Cresta's hand? He doesn't even need to hear what they're saying to actually know. But once they're off the train, a ripple moves through the crowd. She might have won due to extraordinary circumstances, but Annie is still a victor of District 4, and a cheer goes up in the air for her.

Finnick leans down, mouth brushing over her ear as he talks.] See, they just want a good show. You don't have to hide from them.

[She looks slightly bewildered at that cheer, though it's hard to see -- except, perhaps, for Finnick, and her parents, if they're watching.]

I want to. [It's quiet, but surely he can hear it.] I just want to go, I want quiet, it's too much.

[He can hear her, and there's something that stirs within him, the need to protect this slip of a girl who shouldn't have even won. But these are dangerous thoughts, and he's committing dangerous actions.]

It'll be quiet soon. Come on, we can do this together. Just one small step at a time.

Stay with me. [She's very nearly pleading, but she does, at least, lift her eyes to look for people she knows. There are her parents, cheering, there are her friends, nearby, but she can't bring herself to go to them.]

[Stay with me. It's a simple enough request, and a dangerous one, and he shouldn't. He shouldn't have even gone this far. But he has, and they're here, his fingers wrapped up with hers.

He nods, smiling at the crowd and waving with his free hand.] I'll stay. I'm not going anywhere.

Thank you. [She squeezes his hand a little, then takes a deep breath and waves some, herself. She can't quite bring herself to smile, not yet, but it's a start, at least.]
