Life is hard. You can go through rough patches and over bumps, and sometimes it feels as though you're definitely worse for the wear, both physically and mentally. It's nice to have someone - someone more than a friend - there for you in those times...even if you don't think you want them or deserve them. But they're here, and they'll take care of you.

How to Play:
* This is a shipping meme for more tender, soft moments, but a little more serious than your usual "fluff." It's for people who've been broken down by their experience and those who wish to heal them.
* Comment with your character/your preferences. You may also want to specify whether your character will be the one "cared for" or the one doing the "caring" + pertinent information, but for most effectiveness, it's best to be open to both.
* Comment around.

[To be honest at first Pogue thought Reid was just going to pester him about notes or something..now though. Now the older teen was worried. Had something happened between them that he hadn't seen that was pushing Reid away?

Was Reid breaking up with him? No...okay he needed to stop with those sort of thoughts, right here and now he needed to push that away. instead he nodded and waited for Reid to be ready to talk. He couldn't really say much, seeing as he didn't know what it was the younger teen was trying to tell him.

So instead he'd wait, the silence slightly eating at his brain before he finally broke it, so sue him he wasn't good at waiting like this.]

Reid, it can't be that bad can it?

Huh? What?

[He looked up, confused for a moment before it dawned on him.]

No-God no, it's not something bad, I just.

[Talking about this sort of thing wasn't even any easier because it was Pogue; it was harder, somehow. Maybe he shouldn't even be doing this, maybe this had been a stupid idea. Stupid because how was he ever supposed to get the words out?]

I care about you-a lot-and I...

[Nope, the words just weren't coming.]

[hearing the tone in Reid's voice and thinking about the others words, Pogue realized what it was that the blonde was trying to say.

He couldn't help but smile at that. Who knew Reid Garwin was having so much trouble saying three words. Then again...Pogue could understand.

So, instead of letting the other flounder about trying to say it Pogue reached forward, grabbed the underside of the office chair that Reid was sitting in and pulled him forward, till Reid's knees bumped against Pogue's.]

Reid, I get it. You don't have to say it.

[The fact that he was Reid Garwin should explain everything about why it was so hard for him. He was a tough guy-or he tried to be, at least-he flirted a lot, but he never got tied down by anyone. This was a first for him, and because it was Pogue, well, that made it even more special.

He'd been looking down again, so he was surprised when Pogue pulled him closer, even more surprised when he apparently knew what Reid was trying to say. Considering that Reid hadn't been doing a very good job of making it clear.]

You do?

Yeah Reid, I get it. Don't worry so much.

[Resting his hands on Reid's knees Pogue couldn't help but smile at the others surprise. come on Reid, Pogue wasn't blind. Plus he'd known the guy for ages. It was easy to see the slight changes, in fact he was pretty sure it was obvious to the others too.]

Is this what's been bugging you so bad you had to come over so late?

[Well, Reid wasn't quite as subtle about a lot of things as he thought he was. And, alternately, wasn't as obvious about others as he thought. But right now he didn't care how obvious he'd been about it and if everyone had been able to tell, because Pogue got it and that meant Reid could stop floundering around like an idiot.

He nodded.]

Yeah, that's...it. I just wanted you to know.

[Pogue couldn't think of what else to say other than:]

I feel the same way...

[Even as he said it he understood how hard it had been for Reid. His own heart began to pick up a few beats before he felt an unexplained wave of nervousness wash over him. shaking his head Pogue reached up and ran a hand through Reid's blonde hair, his thumb tracing along his temple a moment before continuing into the short hair.]

[Reid smiled. Somehow he wasn't exactly very surprised that it was hard for Pogue to say too. He sort of had expected it. But he was glad that Pogue loved him too, even if it was hard to say. Or maybe especially because it was hard to say.]

I could tell.

[But it was still nice knowing, for certain.

He leaned in to kiss Pogue, nice and slow.]
