STRANDED ON AN ISLAND MEME

How did it happen? Maybe your airplane was brought down by a mysterious electromagnetic pulse. Or your boat collided with a reef. Or your dragon pulled a muslce and had to make an emergency landing. Or the Love Boat decided you were a hopeless case and marooned you to die.

It doesn't matter, all that matters is you suddenly find yourself on a deserted island, with nothing but sand, sea, and whatever shipwreck/planewreck/dragonwreck washed up with you. What do you do?

How To Play

These are NOT the only options available, but a few suggestions to get you started:
1. Build a signal fire.
2. Forage for food.
3. Try to lasso a sea turtle.
4. Build a raft to escape.
5. Spell HELP on the beach.
6. Look for rum.
7. Get the sand out of your-- Look there's sand everywhere, okay?
8. Get your supplies back from the monkey that stole it.
9. Run away from the cannibals.

Yeah, Neku is not happy about this.]

[ Yeah, Roxas isn't too happy about this either. In fact, he doesn't even know how they got here in the first place. It's starting to remind him a little too much like Destiny-

Best not go there now.

It is a nice little island though, but still. ]

[ If only he could use the dark corridor, it'd be so easy to leave. ]

[~~Oh Neku, if only you knew...~~ He sighs, tugging on his hair.]

In movies, they always try and light signal fires or build signs or... something.

Yeah but. We're not sure how far from the mainland we actually are.

[ They could be days away for all they knew and trying to do anything like the movies sounds like it would be for nothing. ]

Could we even.. start a fire?

Uh...

[That's actually a really good question. Neku conceptually knows how. Sort of. It's just the actual doing it.]

We could try?

I guess it couldn't hurt to.

[ Not like they would have a lot to lose if they did try and it didn't work. But where to even start. ]

Think rubbing two sticks together will work?

[ Cause there's a vague memory of Hayner trying that once and it didn't work out so well... ]

[Yeah he has no idea.]

[ Roxas looks around and seeing nothing but white sands and clear blue water not too far away from the shoreline, he heads towards the patch of trees that the island has. Was there even any dirt for the trees to grow? Probably don't need to think about dumb questions.

Though for some weird reason, finding two sticks on the ground isn't easy either. He scratches the back of his head. ]

...Can you climb a tree?

Never really tried. But how hard could it be?

[said like a true cityboy, Neku. He'll just over and stare at a palm tree, trying to figure out the hell you'd get up one of those things.]

[ As far as Roxas recalls, he hasn't climbed a tree either, looking up at the same one Neku's looking at. There is that patch of forest in Twilight Town but he's never gone in there before. ]

I could, uh... give you a boost?

[ Yeah, he doesn't know either. ]

[ Good question. It just takes him a second to think before he bends down and laces his fingers together to make a stepping support with his hands. ]

Here. Just-- I'll push you up with my hands and then you can step onto my shoulders. Use the tree so you don't fall.

Ok.

[That... looks like it could work. Very carefully, Neku supports himself against the tree as he steps on to Roxas's shoulders. Lucky for Roxas, Neku doesn't exactly weight very much.]

[ Roxas is very lucky that Neku is as scrawny as he looks, doing his best to be steady so that the other doesn't fall off. He's never really done this for anybody else before so the weight is still a little unexpected but he is stronger than he looks. There's a tiny bit of strain though. ]

Can you reach?

Yeah, hang on.

[Neku manage to grab a couple branches (but since they're palm tree, it's mostly leaves), dropping them on the ground next to them.]

[ Roxas sees the "branches" falling from the corner of his eyes, wondering if the leaves would actually work but knowing that it couldn't hurt to try it. Still... ]

Those... aren't really branches, are they.

...Not really. But that's all there is up here.

[They're screwed, aren't they.]

[ Definitely screwed. ]

Ah, well. We could use them for the fire, right?

[ That's something at least. ]

Maybe we could try finding some rocks...

Yeah, that could work. And rocks should be easier to find...

[He manages to pull a few more off before getting down, looking at the... honestly kind of pathetic pile.]

[ Neither have clearly never been a boy scout.

Roxas scratches the back of his head, a little relieved that he doesn't have to be nervous about having Neku on his shoulders anymore. Even more so that the other didn't fall off... ]

They have to be a specific kind of rock, right? Or do you think any kind will work.
