the intimate bathing meme
the intimate bathing meme; ![]() |
Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... HOW TO PLAY:

River Song || Doctor Who | Open
11 can't resist
The Doctor loved River's hair, and he'd take any opportunity he could to touch it, even if it was to wash it.
bless him

The Doctor loved doing little things like this for his wife. He found a cup and knelt behind the bathtub, planning on taking his time. First step was to wet all those curls, using that cup and the water from the tub.

River let out a soft sigh as warm water gently cascaded down her scalp and back, wetting and weighing down her chaotic curls.
"So how was your day, sweetie? Did you fix whatever you were mucking about with in the console room?"
no subject
He reached for her shampoo as he answered her question, "Pretty uneventful, all things considered. The Old Girl shot a few showers of sparks at me, so I'm not sure if it's fixed or not. I'm betting on not."
no subject
"Oh whatever am I going to do with the two of you?" She shook her head very briefly before tilting it back for his ease. "You know, it might have something to do with the thermocouplings you left in the bedroom."
no subject
Besides, what is it the business of the officiant which promises two people marrying one another make? They're important to them, that's what matters.
"That's where a I left them? The bedroom? How did they wind up in there?"
He squirted a bit of her shampoo in his hand and went to work massaging her scalp.
no subject
"Actually you left them in the hallway and I tripped right over them," River retorted. "So I put them somewhere I thought you'd see them."
They're sitting on his side of the bed, after all.
"Mmm, that's nice," she murmured, head relaxing as his fingertips worked on shampooing her scalp.
no subject
"I wasn't paying attention to them, I guess," he said as he kept at her hair. He loved that she let him do things like this. River Song, the woman that killed the Doctor, the woman that can make Daleks beg, was simply enjoying having her husband wash her hair for her.

River was quiet, thoroughly enjoying the soothing care he brought to her hair. It really was the little things that she loved most about their life. Unconventional and timey-wimey though it was, she adored tender little gestures that made her feel like she was the only woman in the universe. Her husband washing her hair was infinitely more pleasurable than having handsome Romans waiting on her hand and foot in 102 A.D.
"Would you really do it?" she finally asked, hair full of suds. "Marry me again?"
no subject
"I would. I'd marry you as many times as you'd like."
He reached for the cup he'd put on the floor and took his time rinsing her hair, taking care not to get any soap in her eyes.
no subject
"Ooh, does that mean I get as many wedding nights, too?!" River enquired excitedly, trying not to shift too much as he rinsed her hair. She kept her eyes shut just in case.
no subject
"If you want to keep going through the ceremony, I'd love the wedding nights."
Next step was her conditioner. He figured that was important for hair as curly as hers. His didn't behave quite right without it and imagined hers would be worse.
no subject
River chuckled and tilted her head back futher, smiling up at him despite the fact that he currently appeared upside-down to her. "We'd both love the wedding nights. Maybe we should just skip ahead to that bit," she teased. She closed her eyes and returned to her previous position as he began the conditioner.
"I do want a second wedding, though. Really."
no subject
"We could always do that."
Just like with the shampoo he worked the conditioner into her hair with the pads of his fingers, applying gentle pressure as he went.
"It's fine with me."
no subject
"Ohh, that is...excellent news," River murmured, a pleasant groan emanating from her throat just after. She was a fan of massage in general, but her scalp was the best way to get her feeling weak in the knees. She would only ever trust it to the hands of her husband.
"Can we keep the pyramid? I liked that bit."
no subject
"You liked the pyramid bit? I suppose we could."
no subject
"What can I say? Love a tomb." River chuckled. "Why, do you have somewhere else in mind? I'm open to suggestions."
no subject
He thought for a minute as he rinsed, "What about somewhere scenic?"
no subject
"Hmm...." River thought it over as the warm water rinsed conditioner suds out of her hair and rejoined the bath from which it came. "I'm not opposed to scenic. But what scenery are we talking? Grassy meadow, intermittently-erupting volcano...?"
no subject
"I was thinking something with an ocean this time."

He finished rinsing her hair before he got splashed, "I guess I'm lucky I'm not wearing my coat."
Then he bent around to kiss his wife.
SO GLAD I JUST SCRAPED UP THE MONEY FOR PAID ACCOUNT ICONS
She reached a damp hand up to his cheek, the corners of her mouth turning upwards with a smile.
