The Abrupt Kissing Meme

 

 

Plain and simple: your character is being kissed. Abruptly. How did this happen? Were they talking too much to the point where it was the only way to shut them up? Was someone bidding adieu or just not able to hold in their feelings? Or was this some CPR class gone bad? More importantly—how do they react?

How this works:

[ It's easy to tell that this was all caused by an accident.

Makoto was a full foot above her, so purposely kissing him was out of the question. Still, that didn't mean that Mirai's sudden fall from the top of the stairs was some plan. She was a clumsy person by heart and, unfortunately, he was the one at the bottom of the stairs that she had landed on. And oops, their lips kinda sorta touched. ]

Bart froze when he heard the kitchen door creak open, and even as he looked up from the fridge the young man started to frown. He knew he really shouldn't have snuck in to his friend's place to grab a bite to eat, but she had once mentioned something bout him always being welcome...granted she probably never meant for him to help himself to every last morsel of food in her place, but the speedster had already spent the last of his cash on snacks a few hours ago.

When the kitchen light came on Bart panicked and wanted to run, but since she blocked his only exit he had to find another way of getting out alive. Quick thinking, though not the brightest, gave him an idea and with a broad grin he closed the gap between them and gently set his hands on her hip and neck. With a quiet voice he spoke up and put on his brightest smile as he silently prayed that his plan would work.

"Welcome home chica, been waiting for ya just like we talked bout."

Hoping to distract her from the complete lack of food, Bart quickly leaned forward and planted a kiss on her lips as he pulled her closer.

[ The first time she sees him, the familiar features of his face evoke memories of a man she hasn't seen in some time. It's not him, of course; she can discern the differences from simply observing his appearance and analyzing the way he speaks, the manner in which he carries himself. She should let the startling coincidence go, releasing the nostalgic sentiments it brings with it, but Rose Tyler has never been very good at keeping herself out of trouble.

As a shop girl, she thinks she would have laughed absurd amounts at the notion of vampires — but after her travels, fanged creatures roaming the streets and infiltrating the latest nightclubs seems a bit less comical. It's by chance and Rose's own investigative tendencies that have never dissipated that lead them to crossing paths again, and the continued pattern of colliding progresses from that point.

It's too dangerous for her to wander off on her own mission, that much she's aware of, but she plans to do so, anyway. A few words here and a few words there and she somehow has Peter Vincent tagging along beside her. The streets are as eerie as she'd expect at this time of night — desolate for the most part as stragglers stumble into their flats. She doesn't even have a plan, really, but her prime objective is to avoid being noticed by the vampire and his cronies she's chosen to follow for the evening.

It's a goal that's becoming increasingly more difficult to obtain when they're only drawing attention. She vaguely registers that Peter is in the midst of a sentence as the footsteps approach from behind them, and it's quick thinking that leads her to prodding him into the nearest brick wall and shoving her mouth up against his.

No sane individual generally wants to approach a couple cozied up to each other in the alleyway, after all. She withdraws as the footsteps began to fade, not yet completely out of earshot, and lingers close in the chance they'll only circle back around. When she speaks, she keeps her voice relatively soft, eyebrows arched. ]

[So. Aliens are a thing, on record. But there is a big difference between a few aliens attacking earth, and an entire federation of planets. There's some talk about time streams, and about how humans made first contact decades too soon. But if you ask Pepper -- first contact hit earth. With a hammer. So that's not earth's fault.

Which leads to a conference aboard something called Deep Space Nine. She's there as a representative of Stark Enterprises, because capitalism can go in where governments can't, and because she's the CEO on earth that is most used to weird crap.

Talks are going well. Then someone attacks her tailor. She walks into the shop, and Garak is knocked out cold.]
