It happens to everyone - sometimes, you have nights where you just can't fall asleep, no matter what you do. It could be for a number of reasons, or no reason at all. And this is what's happened now: you've been laying in bed for what feels like hours, just tossing and turning, and nothing seems to help. So what's left to do? Get out of bed and go wake someone else up, of course. If you're not getting any sleep, then why should they? i n s t r u c t i o n s • Post with your character (note the name and fandom in the subject). • Other people reply to you by generating a number from 1 to 10. • Have fun! o p t i o n s 01 • FEAR. Maybe you're hearing strange, indeterminable noises; maybe there's a severe storm happening outside; maybe you watched a scary movie before bed? Whatever the reason, you're terrified and it's keeping you awake. You just want to wake someone else up so they can protect you from the monster in your closet. 02 • HUNGER. Your stomach is growling and it just won't stop. Or perhaps your throat is so dry you could cough up a tumbleweed? Well, you've gone to the kitchen to remedy this and hey, that was a pan that just dropped on the floor. It was loud enough to wake the dead! Oops. 03 • PAIN. Your body is completely worn out, be it from exercise, battle, sickness, or what have you. Either way you're in enough pain to keep you from sleeping, so maybe someone else has a home remedy or something, or can at least help you take your mind off of it. 04 • SOLITUDE. For some reason, your bed just feels so empty at the moment. You're feeling terribly lonely and really just want someone to keep you company for a while. Maybe it'd be easier to fall asleep if you're with them... 05 • DISCOMFORT. Your room is an oven. Either that or a freezer. Or maybe this bed is just really uncomfortable? Who knows why you can't get to sleep, it feels like it could be anything. Why even bother trying? Maybe someone else can preoccupy you until you feel tired enough to ignore your discomfort. 06 • PENSIVE. Something's on your mind, and no matter how hard you try to focus elsewhere, it's just not going to work. Your body may be tired, but your mind is incredibly busy and it's virtually impossible to get to sleep. Surely, talking it out with someone else will help? 07 • SADNESS. Something terrible has happened that day, perhaps; or you could just be severely depressed. Either way you're trying your hardest not to cry yourself to sleep, and it's not working at all. Better find a way to get it out of your system somehow; you need a shoulder to cry on. 08 • ANGER. You are just... fuming. Who knows why - that annoying dog is barking again, or maybe the people next door are getting busy and keeping you awake. Whatever the reason for your ire is, you'd better put an end to it so you can get some damn rest already! Go wake up a friend so you can complain to them. 09 • RESTLESS. You're far too energetic to sleep right now. Maybe you're just trying to do so out of necessity - you have to be up early tomorrow! But you just don't think you'll be able to fall asleep for a while now, so why waste the time trying to sleep when you could be doing something else? Namely bothering someone else - you're totally jealous because they're getting more sleep than you. 10 • WILDCARD. Choose one of the options above, or make up your own scenario. |
Of course, I need to play with *ALL* of your Geass characters :'D
[Since it was so late, she didn't know if any one else was up to help her, so she crawled out of bed and began to make her way to the kitchen for a glass of water and just that. Anything else would probably wake the baby up more, and she didn't want that. Slowly, but surely, she made her way down to the kitchen area, hoping she wouldn't wake anyone.]
I think the only left is Gino XD
It was the least she could, after all, everything considered.
A noise from the hall caused her to look up, closing the folder in front of her. She slowly backed her chair away from the desk, making her way through the door and into the hall, where she saw someone moving through it.
It took her a moment to recognize the other.]
Ryou? Is everything all right?
We'll have to find a meme for him eventually then XDD
O-oh, Nunnally. I didn't know you were up so late...
[Of course, the baby, somehow hearing Nunnally's voice, reacted with a kick. He knew her voice, at least. It made Ryou pause for a moment before looking back at her with an embarrassed smile.]
I'm afraid the baby is keeping me up and only seems to calm down when I'm up and walking. I hope I didn't disturb you.
no subject
[She waves a hand with a smile.]
I've been going over some things for the time when my brother's attention will be inadvertently diverted to something more important.
[Nunnally can't help it, her eyes travel down to look at other woman's stomach.]
Does the baby do that often?
no subject
[She's sort of gotten used to people openly staring at her over the past few months. They usually looked at her with kind smiles and warm eyes. She just had a problem with people she didn't know touching her and her stomach. That still made her uncomfortable, no matter what.]
Pretty much ever since he was big enough to be felt moving around. It's started off as light kicks and opening and closing his hands, but he's become a lot bigger and stronger since then, so-!
[And it was in that moment that she realized that she had just told Nunnally what she was having when it was supposed to be a secret, as tradition dictated.]
[Would Lelouch be mad at her, once she told him that she accidentally told Nunnally?]

Not to mention that being how young she had been, there were things she was re-learning all over again - thankfully she hadn't forgotten how to read, but it was hard to switch back over from braille to print again. And her handwriting, that had been horrible in the beginning.
The moment she realizes what's she doing, however, she'll tear her eyes away to refocus on Ryou.]
Well, it's only for a little longer, right? And then the little one will make a grand entrance into the world.
[She notices the slip, but doesn't say anything, instead quirking her lips into a small smile.]
Would you like to come into the study? We can talk more in private and I can send down to the kitchen if you need something.
[She knows her brother won't be, she suspected as much, after all, when he had said that he didn't know the gender. She had been holding his hand at the time and knew it to be a lie, but she never called him on it, respecting his wish to keep it to himself. She certainly wasn't about to tell him that Ryou had let it slip to her.]

Just need a glass of water. ...The baby tends to wake up more when I eat or drink anything else. [Anything with sugar, natural or artificial, anything spicy, anything sweet, anything sour, basically anything ever.] Fruits in particular make them particularly energetic, from what I've heard.
[Once inside, she takes a glance around the room, taking the chair next to the princess.
...About my... slip up, can we just keep it between us? I'm... I'm so used to calling him a 'he' around Lelouch, it's hard to stop myself from saying it out loud around others and we did want this to be kept secret.
no subject
[Nunnally nods and once they're in the room, she reaches for the phone and dials downstairs. There's usually at lest one person awake down there during the night.]
If it makes you feel any better, Ryou, I knew my brother was lying when he said he didn't know the gender, so I suspected for quite awhile.
[She gives the other girl a smile.]
But I won't tell him that I know, I promise. And I won't tell anyone else either. [And then her grin turns a little mischievous.] Although... I will ask to be allowed to see the sonogram pictures sometime? If that's all right, of course.
no subject
I'll definitely show you the set when he's closer to term when we get them done at his last checkup.
no subject
[She's giggling as she says it, shaking her head.]
Oh, that would be wonderful! I look forward to it, Ryou.
no subject
I still have the pictures when I had my last sonogram done a few weeks ago, if you want to look at those. [She felt a little kick inside, as if the baby was paying attention to their conversation.]
...Guess even before he's born, he doesn't want me showing off his baby pictures.
no subject
[It's said with a touch of fondness and a shake of the head. Really, Lelouch, really?]
I would love to, yes.
[She laughs.]
He'll have to get to used to it, he's going to have an entire palace of aunts wanting to show him off.
no subject
I can go back to my room and come back with them in a few minutes, if you don't mind. [She began to stand up.]
no subject
Of course I don't mind! Did you want me to accompany you? I could use a break from reading.
no subject
Sure, I don't mind you coming with me. It's not that far anyway.
no subject
Then lead the way.
[She giggles as she gestures, but she wants to take this at Ryou's pace.]
no subject
[Though, after immediately thinking that, she feels horrible, thinking of Nunnally beside her and immediately shuts that thought up. Bad thought, Ryou. Bad.]
He might go to sleep sooner now that I'm walking again. [She hopes so, at least.]
no subject
I wonder which of you the baby will take after?
[For all they knew, the child was probably scheming away already in there.]
no subject
Well... the white hair in my family was a recessive gene that only showed up randomly in a few generations, so... he's more likely to have Lelouch's hair color, since his would be the more dominant trait. [Unless dark hair was also a recessive trait, but it usually wasn't, according to her book.
But this is anime after all. The hair colors are made up and the points don't matter.]But he could always surprise us, I'm sure...
no subject
True. Although Lelouch inherited our mother's looks, I ended up with more of Father's coloring, although Brother did get the same shade of eyes that Father had.
[She nods.]
That's true, I'm still not entirely sure where Euphemia or Cornelia got their hair color from, to be honest.
no subject
Didn't they get it from their mother, then, if they didn't inherit your father's colorings like you did? [Again, she didn't know much about the royal family, other than Lelouch and Nunnally having a lot of half brothers and sisters and that the former Emperor wasn't a very nice person, to say the least.]
Maybe he'll look like you, since the DNA is probably there from your brother's genes. [She can't help the smile and small laugh there. Wouldn't Lelouch like for that to happen.]
no subject
[Her voice is thoughtful as she thinks.]
Or it could be that she didn't like us. Most of the other consorts didn't, because of Mother's commoner background.
[She smiles, but shakes his head.]
I hope he looks like either you or Brother. Both looks are exotic, in my opinion.
no subject
[Though, she does blush a little bit at the exotic comment.]
W-well, he will be part Britannian and part Japanese. Maybe that'll influence his looks a little bit...
no subject
Perhaps. I think it's wonderful, honestly, that you and brother are having a baby. My own little nephew to spoil.
[Especially since she knows there's a very good chance she'll never have a child of her own.]
no subject
You'll definitely be one of the first ones, I'm sure.
[It wasn't a long walk back to the room, especially when she had someone with her for once. She turned on the light once they entered.]
Hmmm.... now where did I put those pictures...
