Changes

childhood friends to more
As you age, you leave childish things behind. Somebody wise once said that, I think? Quote, unquote, all that jazz.
The big question's if you're ready to leave everything (everyone) in the past. Feelings don't shed so easily. You can't entirely forget where you came from.
Love remembers.
- Relax, this one's easy. Throw the prefs in the air. Catch some quality tags. Revist those hazy days of childhood and the emotions that brewed in the storm of life.
- Tag around!

SCENARIOS
1) Sleepovers were something we usually did back then. But now that we’re adults, I can’t keep my mind straight with your chest/back pressed into me like that, and your hair splayed over the pillows.
2) College reunions are bad enough alone, but it’s worse knowing that your childhood bully is going to be there with their spouse. I plead with you to be my plus one. Even if we’re mistaken as a couple, please?
3) We’re at a party and one of our other childhood friends won’t stop asking me to dance/buy me a drink. I almost agree, but you swoop into my side and pull me into a dance/take me to the bar.
4) You text me our codeword since we were kids. It means that one of us had a bad day at work and the other should try and repair it. After getting the text, I grab your favorite things.
5) I’ve never seen you cry. Not when you fell out of that treehouse and nearly injured your knee, and not when we fell off our bikes on the back trails. But now you are. Who did this to you?
6) Back when we were young, I remember you vowed to keep me safe. Even now, twenty years later, a few relationships gone by, and more fights than I care to admit between the two of us, you’re still here.
7) We’re going through a haunted house together, and I’m terrified. Last time I was in here, my ex thought it’d be a good idea to abandon me, but you grab my hand and tell me it’ll be all right.
8) I’m moving and trying to pack these boxes when I accidentally drop one. There’s photos of us in here. I can’t leave without telling you how I feel.
9) Since we were teenagers, we have sent each other good morning and good night texts. It’s a habit both of us have yet to break for (x) years. But tonight, you haven’t sent anything, it’s not like you.
10) We’re catching up over coffee after (x) years, since you’ve been out of town. We’ve been talking about this subject for probably two hours, but there’s no way I can even think about stopping when you’re smiling like that.
11) In the span of our friendship, we must have walked this path a thousand times, but only now do I trip. Of course, I took you down with me. Sorry?
12) You’re very cuddly when you’re tired. I’ve known this for years. I’ve planned around this for years. And yet, I still let you sling a leg around me when we’re curled on the couch for movie night. I can’t say no to you.
13) I never thought I’d get into a car accident, but I did, and now my car’s totaled. I know we haven’t talked in (x), but can you please pick me up? .
14) We used to lay underneath the stars and point out the constellations we knew. It’s been years since that and I can’t remember a single one—and you take me out and we go through them all over again.
15) There’s a hole in my heart from when you left—chasing your dreams in another town/country/state/city. I can’t figure out why though. It isn’t until you return and pull me into a hug do I realize that I love you, and I thought I lost you.
16) We promised to stick together through thick and thin. We promised that there wasn’t a single thing in the world that would remove me from you. But you don’t see how your new partner is ripping us apart. One day, I blurt out everything.
17) Every valentines day, we get chocolate for one another. A totally platonic. But this year, maybe I don’t want to be platonic. I just want you.
