The Final Battle Meme

THE FINAL BATTLE MEME

It's been a long road. Your adventure, your journey is finally coming to an end. But, before that, you just have one more thing to wrap up. Before that, you need to defeat the Big Bad; the final boss. Only after they're defeated can you clearly say that you've won, and your journey can FINALLY be finished.

How to Play:
1) Post, you know this part of the drill.
2) Either the poster or the replier may be the final boss! It's up to you.
3) Final Round! Ready? Fight!

And if you need it, here's some scenarios for you.

1) Platforming Boss:- All your running and jumping skills have really paid off! You've even probably done some puzzle solving and have powered up quite a bit. But now, you have to be exhausted. One life left, no continues, but on the bright side, you have a full life bar. Unfortunately, here comes the final boss of the game! Maybe they take 8 hits, or 10 hits, but either way, get ready for the end!
2) Adventure Boss:- An epic adventure, but there's just one thing standing between you and your treasure or your goal. Maybe it's a rival of yours, or the evil enemy you've been trying to keep from getting there first.
3) Fighting Game Boss:- After fighting seven other people and even a midboss, you're now staring down the final fight. The guy at the top of the tournament. The boss in charge. Are they an SNK boss? An MK Walker? THEY HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU
4) RPG Boss:- You know how at the end of a lot of RPGs you and the end boss just have a one on one epic LIMIT BREAK VS. LIMIT BREAK MOST POWERFUL MOVE VS. MOST POWERFUL MOVE battle? Yeah, that's what this is. No, you don't get EXP for winning this one.
5) Puzzle Boss:- Someone's been threatening your land and you're finally confronting them. How are you going to stop them? A good ol' game of Tetris. Or maybe something else. Whatever floats your boat.
6) Monster Battlin' Boss:- No, you weren't the one who fought their way here. Be it a team of Pokemon, or monsters you've been able to summon, you and this boss aren't going to fight directly. Instead, you're going to command your monsters to the final showdown between you and them. Can you two (or more) pull it off?
7) Misc. Boss:- The finals of a card game tournament? Maybe the final game of 1 on 1 basketball to save the rec center? The World Champion Boxer/Wrestler? A huge robot that you have to go through an obstacle course to fight in only a truck? Something else I may have forgotten? There's only one way to win, and it's to go at it head on. So get to it.

"I think you know why we're here."

Of course. Everyone did, right? Whoever thought it would be a good idea to let Rita Mordio pilot a mecha condemned the whole world to ruin. With her magitech reactor that required immense power drawn from the environment around it, weapons capable of leveling a city in a single blow, and lots of other general bad news, Rita's Psychedelica was a force to be reckoned with. Or not, if you valued your life.

And, of course, she's been trying to deal with Nanoha for some time.

"Give up now and I won't have to hurt you! Seriously, it's a good offer!"

"...I do."

The TASB had sent Nanoha and the others out when they discovered the world was in jeopardy due to the effects of a giant mecha. While her friends went to deal with the weapons that could level cities, Nanoha was left to face the one responsible who was the pilot of the aforementioned mecha: Rita Mordio.

"It doesn't have to be this way! You can just shut it down and we can fix everything that's been destroyed."

"Yeah, right! And then what? I rot in dimensional prison for all eternity? Or worse, I get drafted into the Goody Two-Shoes Bureau? No thanks. I've got research to finish, and you're in the way." Rita sighs dramatically. "I know you guys are fond of trying diplomacy first, but can we just get this over with?"

"...Being part of the Bureau is better than being stuck in prison!" Nanoha insisted. "At least, you'd be on parole first." After a long moment, she whispered "Raising Heart, onegai!" and transformed, her chosen weapon of choice appearing.

"Master."

"Mmn. Can't you do your research without...without bringing the world to an end? What would your friends say?" Fate would call this a 'last-ditch effort' on Nanoha's part; Vita would say it's 'useless trying to reason' but Nanoha would do so anyway.

"I can't do what you people do. I get the whole business of fighting to save people. I don't do that. I research, and if things get dicey, I fight to protect myself and my interests first. If someone dies along the way, then they should have kept their nose out of it."

The girl's eyes narrow, and her robot seems to hum with anticipation.

"I don't end worlds unless they've decided I'm not worth keeping around, officer. And don't try to bring my friends into this! They're off, living their own lives, blissfully having forgotten about me this entire time! Hell, if friends are so great, where are yours? What idiot sends a single girl with a pink stick to take on a mecha!?"

To punctuate the question, the robot's face seems to come to life, and from its mouth issues a beam of an icy blue; annoyingly, it's actually cold.

"But, I have friends who do research too; you won't have to fight like I do to save people!"

Nanoha's eyes flashed briefly when her friends were mentioned in such a demeaning manner and was about to comment that Rita's own friends couldn't have forgotten her, but soon took on a defensive stance when the mecha suddenly fired an ice-blue beam in her direction!

"Flier Fin."

Instantly, Nanoha's feet gained a set of wings and up she went to dodge the attack, but...

"Flash Move."

...Nanoha zipped away in the blink of an eye, only to reappear right behind the mecha's head!

"Divine Shooter."

Magical energy balls appeared around Nanoha, only to shoot forward via her control to strike the back of the robot's head. Even still, it would take some time for Rita to turn around...hopefully.

"My friends trust me to do what I can to save you and stop this robot from destroying the world!"

"And when I hit a topic that's too progressive for your little overlords, what happens then? I get thrown out like yesterday's newspaper. No, I'm more than happy staying right here!"

Incidentally, the problem with letting Rita fly a mecha... is that Rita's also a mage. And planned for such things. "Guardian!" With that call, a green barrier flared to life for just a moment, long enough to catch the Shooters - well, all but one. Rita shook as the single hit echoed through the frame.

"Dammit... don't you people know when to give up!? Friendship this, friendship that - it's like I'm listening to a kids' book. Again. I got tired of those a long time ago. The only thing that keeps you alive is power. Power enough to change the world...!"

Banking on Nanoha needing time to recover from her spellcasting, Rita brings the hulking figure to bear on the brunette, firing a rocket punch in her direction.

Nanoha suspected that Rita would have to have some mage-like abilities of her own; why else would she be inside a giant mecha? Though she was wrong if she believed that Nanoha was completely defenseless.

"Protection EX."

A powerful barrier literally came between Nanoha and the flying fist, a determined look in her eyes as well. "What about your family? They'll be devastated if we keep this up! I want you to be my friend, but you have to trust me on this, please!"

"I don't have a damned family! There's nobody to worry about but me!" Rita's buttons are rather severely being pressed right now, and she's getting a little tired of it. "O merciless conflagration! Crimson Flare!" A huge red circle appears, trained on Nanoha, and a pillar of fire almost as big around as the mecha itself fires in her general direction. "How can I trust you as a friend when you're here to arrest me!?"

"...You're gonna destroy the world the longer you do this! I'm just here to stop you!" Nanoha's barrier barely held up against the pillar of fire, the mage pointing the tip of Raising Heart at the center of the mecha's chest.

"Let's shoot it."

"Eh? But, it's really powerful too and we're really close..."

"I trust you, Master."

"...Mm! Raising Heart Excelion! STARLIGHT BREAKER!!!" Before Rita could blink, a really charged up beam of intense power was fired from Raising Heart and sent right toward -and undoubtedly through!- the robot's chest.

Rita's mouth continues moving even as some primal instinct realizes - too late - that there's something coming. "Then just let me go with a warning or something! If this keeps up, we're going to-" She stops cold as the bright pink beam of death races toward the mecha's chest - and, incidentally, its cockpit. The green shield from earlier raises and immediately shatters, the lance of energy piercing the mecha and seeming to carry something through. Eventually, Rita gets a hold of herself and floats in mid-air, some distance behind the driverless pile of metal she was sitting in; as they watch, it falls to the ground, the red-clad girl's mouth open in shock, which quickly fades to anger.

"Okay, that's enough! You are going down right now, before someone gets hurt!" There's a bright flash and a sudden outflow of magic as Rita shouts out her intent: "Tidal Wave!" With no apparent charge time, a massive swirl of water rises from the ground, attempting to swallow Nanoha whole - or at least get in her way for a while.

"...Do you even realize what your research would've done if I hadn't destroyed that robot?!" Nanoha stared in equal shock as she watched the mecha fall to the ground, a look of disbelief replacing her shocked one when she heard Rita's declaration.

"Flash Move."

"You would've hurt everyone if I hadn't-!" Nanoha's retort was interrupted as Raising Heart went on the defensive the moment a giant swirl of water came up, the girl zipping away only to appear right in front of Rita with her hand raised up to point at her chest.

"Shoot the Bullet."

With no help from Raising Heart, though she did announce the attack itself, a magical-like bullet immediately shot out from her palm. Maybe this would be enough to knock her out, at least.

Rita opens her mouth, but elects not to use the line she had in mind; at the last second, she realizes that revealing this giant mecha was only a test model for the real deal she still had hidden underground would only invite more warships.

Instead, coldly: "Don't assume I don't know what I'm doing. That's the first step to pissing me off."

With a casual sideswipe, the bullet is deflected into the remains of the Psychedelica, and Rita raises a hand to the heavens. "If you feel like living, I'd shield this. I, who stand in the full light of the heavens, call upon thee, who openeth the gates of hell! Come forth, divine lightning!" The sky darkens almost instantly, and electricity arcs as sigils appear in an arc that describes a target of... pretty much the whole battlefield, kicking up a sharp scent of ozone.

"This ends now! Indignation!"

With that, a terrible crash of lightning descends from the skies above. It's the strongest spell she knows - and it's probably up there on the list of 'things not to be trifled with' for the Bureau, too. Granted, Rita's wide open right now, but you'd be facing near-certain death to try and take the shot.

Nanoha seemed to float back a few meters as Rita rose her hand up, watching with wide eyes as the sky darkened around them.

"...Do you really wanna kill everyone?" Screw 'going to prison' or even the thought of joining the Bureau; if Rita did succeed in this and was caught regardless, it was the death sentence for her.

"I will protect Master." Instead of a defensive pose, Nanoha actually took on an offensive pose as the lightning descended down toward them. Not to mention, she also took aim at the lightning at the same time.

Raising Heart...

"Ready. Target locked."

"Divine Buster...!!"

"Extension."

"SHOOT!!!" A particle beam literally shot out at that second, going past both girls and directly targeting the lightning without fail. The sky might seem to brighten up at this moment in time.

"I don't, but you're forcing my hand!" She was pushing her control to its limit to bring this down... and yet Nanoha wasn't even defending? She was... attacking the bolt!? Rita had to shield her eyes from the titanic flash, but that didn't save her from the shockwave of the clashing energies, which threw her quite some distance away and into the ground.

Looking back up, she could only stare at her opponent in disbelief. "You can't be human... what are you? Some kind of demon?"

Nanoha would've replied back, possibly with the statement that she was only acting on what Rita was doing and it was Rita pushing things beyond that point which caused her to do likewise, but she chose not to. Plus, the shockwave from the two energies shook her a bit but her control never wavered for a moment as she pressed on with her attack doing likewise.

"Ehhh?! I'm just me, Takamachi Nanoha! I'm not some kind of demon!" Despite her control not faltering, her expression might've said otherwise once hearing Rita's question.

[Bring it on. Amazi-Girl is immune to criticism. :| ]
