It's a beautiful, warm spring night out on the hills, and all the stars are out. Aren't they beautiful? You've decided to get out that checkered blanket from the back of your closet and put it to good use. Are you just lying down, staring at the constellations? Are you propping up a telescope, searching the sky? Are you seated on the blanket, sharing a starlit picnic with friends? Whatever the case, you're under starlight.

What to do

- Give a small set-up for what your character is doing

- Those characters are watching the stars together

[ another case, another wild goose chase, another motel in the outback of nowhere.

if someone had told scully that all the glory of working in the FBI would be translated into days spent driving rental cars halfway across the country and in economy-class aeroplane seats when she'd been poached out of med school, she wouldn't've believed them. then again, there were many aspects of their current reality she wouldn't have believed, she supposes.

the one benefit to being in a two star motel so remote from the rest of the humanity, however, was the lack of city light pollution - and after a long day of travelling (and being subject to mulder's latest mixtape, a consequence of him being in the driver's seat) they had found themselves outside on a warm, calm night. their room was blessed with a shared patio and tired deck chairs that scully's quite confident are older than both of them put together, and although they hadn't decided to run into each other ahead of time, dana's not surprised when she ventures outside with a mug of gritty motel coffee to find mulder gazing up at the stars in the night sky.

for a moment, it feels like it'd be churlish to interrupt - not when he looks so peaceful - but something gets the better of her, and she clears her throat as she approaches the empty chair. ]

[The best thing about being up in the mountains was the fact there was little to no light pollution. Up here out in the meadow, you could see the actual swirls of the milky way and if she squints hard enough, maybe a touch of the Northern Lights? Maybe? Maybe it was the mists coming up from the trees, though. She couldn't quite figure it out.

Never the less, she's parked in a lawn chair with a thermos of hot chocolate, her oversized hoodie tucked over her knees as she watches the stars, waiting for the current meteor shower to start up. ]
