Some I liked-

1) Character X is trying desperately to keep Character Y from finding something embarrassing.
2) Character X has been ordered to assassinate Character Y.
3) Character X takes Character Y to go can smash stuff or get into a barfight.
4) One or both characters wake up somewhere... But don't remember how they got there.
5) Character X gets hired as Character Y's assistant, bodyguard, tutor, trainer, etc..
6) Both characters are unknowingly going after the same prize, target, or item.
7) Character X has been put in charge of a child, Character Y helps or hinders.
