Like they come to realise that they're each other's soulmates and they're BOTH a bit "...this is not what I wanted". Can be a slow burn eventual actual romance or not. (Also it's cool if Thomas was Flint's soulmate but it's changed because he's presumed dead, OR if Thomas wasn't actually his soulmate but they loved each other anyway in defiance of fate). Open to any version of the soulmate AU if you have a preference, but probably works best if it's the kind where it's not immediately obvious who your soulmate is, so they can find out when they already know each other?
