Trent Ikithon was dead and gone, and once the rage and elation burned away-- it became replaced with worry over where Essek was and why he did not answer. There was only silence, not static such as when magic had slid into a period of instability, but silence as if there was no one picking up on the other end.

Against his forehead, he presses the sending stone and he feels the coolness of it as it touches skin.
