Baby, you’re perfect

find the word.
+ top level with your person. prefs/canon info/etc.+ other people will reply with the first word that comes to their character's mind to describe yours. it could be about their appearance (consider this an 'are they beautiful?' meme if you wanna), their personality, or the mystique that may or may not surround (they're...interesting). break out the thesaurus.
+ your person reacts.
+ thread.

( she frowns, looking at him, at the way he's telling her: it's yours to do with what you want, what you can, without saying it directly. he doesn't need to spare her feelings. they weren't spared before. )

Apophis wouldn't consider himself a kind person. Not when he's being himself, not even when he is wearing the mask of Djoser. But he used to be a guardian, once, and he has tasted way more than his fill of hurt and pain. Sometimes those two things are enough to keep him in check.]
Nah. You can go on losing and losing and losing and suffering forever, and it won't mean a damn thing. That's my experience, at least.

( it's said simply, but she means it. truly. )
At least I know there won't be anyone like her again. You only ever get one first of anything. The rest is just repetition and you get used to it, then. Eventually.
( so she really, really wants to believe, at least. she couldn't bear another eloisa. )

You'll find others. You'll think that maybe, maybe, this one will be different. But they never are in the end.
Such is Ma'at.
Such is Isfet.
[He has used the latter term before, back when he'd made up his last name for her. But it also carries a whole other meaning.]

Those two words, what do they mean?

Isfet [the other hand goes up as a symbolic counterweight is added] Injustice. Chaos. Violence, corruption or just "to do evil" in general.
It's an old belief in my homeland that those two sides make up the duality that shapes all existence. They are two things that can't exist together, yet neither of them can exist without the other, either.

( she looks genuinely fascinated. good and evil, as she's been brought up to know it, believe it, is a bit of a different matter. good has to win. evil has to be vanquished. although how do you destroy good? how is there any winning or losing between two equal things? angels and devils.
they will just tear down the heavens. )

He offers her a small grin at her question and drops his hands back to his side.]
It's about balance. Isfet needs to be present for Ma'at to overcome it and create a good order within the world. But too much order would be stifling and thus Isfet again, so the scales are swinging right back. You can image them like day and night. You don't need equal balance or strict rules, but if one of them were suddenly gone, it'd be fatal.
[Endless daylight. Endless night. No humans can live with that.]

( she likes the night well, because then charles is always out. and she likes the dawn even better, because by then, he's back. it would be a hard thing to decide between the two of them, choose one, leave one behind.
she couldn't, but there are greater people than her, of course. )
Do you have a favourite of the two?
