let's learn languages a meme for showing off all your bilingual characters     Some people speak two, three, four, or even more languages, and we love that for them! We should take the time to learn to communicate with others in their native tongue. Why? Because it's neat! No further reason necessary!  how to play 1. Create a top-level with your characters that can speak more than one language — especially fictional languages. We want Klingons, Vulcans, Valyrians, wood elves, and the French! 1b. Feel free to demonstrate some of those language skills in the TL using prompts, or going by vibes. 2. Tag around and learn! Note: Writing characters who know multiple languages obviously doesn't mean that players are also multilingual, so let's be kind about using Google Translate if/when needed!

fluent - You've been speaking this language for your whole life. You're a natural! duo lingo - You are... learning this language. Maybe some native speakers could chime in and help out? hidden - Speaking your native tongue could give you away. For obvious reasons, you keep it on the down low. anger - You ever get so mad, you start cursing someone out in German? Me too, queen. secret code - If you know this language, you're in the in-group. Think of it like Thieves' Cant. romance - Trying to impress a date? Try breaking out some cool, fancy phrases. Surely, that'll win them over! showing off - Like the meme says, you're only speaking in another language to show how cool you are. broken - It's not the best, but most people can get an understanding for what you mean. slip-up - Either you said where's the bathroom or where are the hookers. Those two are so similar... historical - You just find different languages fascinating! Knowing ancient tongues might not be particularly useful, but you just think it's neat! party trick - It's not something you often do, but speaking in a different language usually wows the crowd. sexy - Omlette du fromage. It sounds so much hotter when it's in another language! sexed up - When the sex is so good, you forget how to English. educational - You're happy to teach! hopeless - Trying to learn another language is hard! Where does the accent go, again? speaker's choice - Do as you will!
