[ They have places to go, presumably, and plans to execute — but right now, they're not supposed to move. The Dreamscape is destabilizing, Black Swan had explained in her enigmatic way. I can take measures to fix it, but I will have to leave you two here to attend to the firmament. A word of advice... don't leave this room, if you don't want to get caught in the flood of memoria.

Then she'd just left. Caelus had questions, but he didn't ask her any before she disappeared. He's learned that it's not worth much, asking a Memokeeper about their work; they don't really operate on the same planes of existence as normal people, and anyway, he probably wouldn't get it even if she did explain.

The Trailblazer hasn't really said much, ever since he saw Robin. Hasn't really been in the mood to say much of anything. What's there to talk about? What could Aventurine say to dispel the horrible aftertaste of having failed to protect someone he promised to protect? Sure. Fine. He wants to know the truth. He'll cooperate with the IPC if he has to, he figures. He can play at being friends.

Caelus frowns at he looks at the bare patch of skin between his glove and his sleeve. He's got a nasty burn mark on his forearm, a parting gift from Sam. It's not... bothering him, exactly, but it definitely hurts from the exposure to open air, and for some reason, he rubs at it as if to aggravate the pain on purpose. ]

...You don't have anything to put on this, do you?

[ It's the first time he's said anything in several minutes. He gestures loosely with his injured wrist in Aventurine's direction, but it's not really like Caelus expects the man to look at his burn. It's not too ugly, but it's red and smarting with broken skin. ]

I'm not expecting, like, burn cream. Maybe a bandage.

[ He immediately feels kind of stupid for asking. Flashy gambler like Aventurine? Why would he carry things like that with him? He's surely not like March, who's got so many fun odds and ends in her bags and pockets that she's always losing things... ]

[ Coming to a halt, Nazuna narrowly avoids colliding with a stranger making a sharp turn out of an alley. The other doesn't pay him any mind, as if Nazuna isn't there at all, briskly walking past him. Standing in place long enough does have him bump arms with a person coming around that same corner. Despite him being much taller than Nazuna, the guy practically jumps with making contact as a third person brings up the rear of this little party. The last person is a touch more urgent, yanking at the second's arm only to walk ahead with a bid of, "Hurry up!" Supposedly they don't want to wait around just in case another one shows up.

Another one... ?

It'd be stupid to go around that corner. Wouldn't it? It would! But after that little display, it may be equally criminal to pretend nothing happened. So he has to stupidly go around that corner! Adjusting his school bag strap, he takes in a breath and peers around the building. Nothing suspicious is apparent; although common sense says he's likely bound to come across something if he makes it to the backstreet. He glances over his shoulder to assure those three characters are gone before heading up the short path.

As he gets to the opposite end of the alley, he's grows aware of the tension in his shoulders. Okay. He might be worried about what he is about to find, bringing himself to take quick peeks without stepping out into the pathway. Nothing ahead suggests anything. Nor does looking left. To his right, however... Someone is slumped against the wall further down the path. ]

— ?!

[ He's walking as fast as he can without breaking out into a run. Any fear holding him back vanishes and his attempt at being inconspicuous is completely forgotten. Is this related to those people that just passed by Nazuna? A fight? Three versus one? No, no — he is getting ahead of himself. This could be a setup with particular intent. They could be waiting for a friend. There's no way to know just yet. ]

Hey...

[ As he stops in front of the heap of a human, he doesn't see any blood right off the bat. Actually, he can't even see the person's face. ]

You okay?

[ A hand blindly pulls at his bag to guide it out of his way as he crouches down, trying to get on level with them. It's now he freezes. Their face remains unseen but he's grown familiar with the peculiar shaped glasses reflecting his own shocked face. ]

[Pom isn't one to swear normally -- Purl doesn't like it. However, his patron palico feline companion generally doesn't mind a bit of profanity when he takes a blow to his head so bad that he's having trouble walking straight.

In good news, he's in relatively good condition compared to everyone else: two of the bandits that jumped them suffered severe magical damage, one of them with a literal hole blasted through him; the bugbear took a thorough bashing to his ribs, the bard's reinforced lute doing enough damage to crush them. Purl managed to best another enemy all on her own, her sword sharp and steady enough to often surprise enemies twice her size or more.

And then, unfortunately, there's Thorntail. Pom stumbles over to his companion, looking over her injuries.]
