( Owen's eyes narrow for a moment, like he's trying to determine if he's being made fun of... but it sounds enough like praise that he lets it pass. But only barely. Were he actually a cat, his tail would have flicked. )

... Hmph. Every so often. I'm not the only Northern wizard there is, even if I'm among the most powerful. And when powerful wizards meet, it's only natural that we want to kill each other.

( He seems annoyed by the unspoken implication: that this is how he racks up deaths, after all. But, just to make it very clear that he's not always the one who dies: )

I've killed plenty of other wizards myself. And, unlike me, when they die, they die for good. The second I set my sights on them, it may as well be over.

( Kill him as many times as they want, but he doesn't stay down; which means it's just a matter of time until Owen kills them in turn.

Well - usually. But he doesn't need to tell a stranger there's some wizards too strong for him to kill. Just thinking about it irritates him. )
