labyrinth city orario

In the city of Orario stands the Tower of Babel, built long ago by the Gods and tall enough to touch the skies. But more impressive than this is the dungeon that lies beneath it — the only one known in existence. Brave souls gather from across the world to explore its depths, whether to sate their adventurous spirit, grow their skills as a warrior, or simply collect valuable materials that can only be found within its many floors.

Filled with magic, labyrinths, and a seemingly endless supply of monsters, the dangers of the dungeon are left to adventurers as the Gods themselves are prohibited from entering. Although their divine powers are limited in the mortal realm, they still hold great power and influence, able to bestow some of it upon the mortals who become apart of their Familia.

Mortal or divine, Orario is the city of opportunity for all who enter. Which role will you play?

ROLES

God/Goddess: The divine who descended from Heaven to seek more earthly pleasures but are prohibited from using much of their power in exchange. Each God is known for their specific influence, e.g. God of War, Goddess of Beauty. Once on earth, they are encouraged to form their own factions known as Familias with all members living in a shared residence.

Adventurer: People who explore the dungeon, consisting of low, middle, and high ranking members. They are required to join a Familia if they wish to grow stronger, as their patron God is the only one with the power to unlock potential abilities and update their status. When unveiled, all adventurers bear the mark of their Familia and status information on their backs, although it's written in hieroglyphics only decipherable by the Gods.

Supporter: People who explore the dungeon alongside adventurers. Their duties can range from carrying supplies, collecting dropped materials, providing back up, etc. They can be hired or in some cases, newer Familia members may serve as supporters to older ones to gain more experience in the dungeon.

Commoner: Those who decide to live a more mundane life, sometimes ex-adventurers. Although they may not receive the same fame and glory they still play a vital role in keeping Orario thriving.

Monster: The enemies of the world, born from the dungeon. Monsters on the higher floors possess lower intelligence than those in the deeper floors, as the enemies grow progressively difficult the further down you travel. Unbeknownst to many, the dungeon has evolved to create monsters unlike any other. More than intelligent; sentient, capable of speech and emotion. Some may even have developed more human features to blend in with human society.

PROMPTS
  1. Love Story: There's no actual rule against Gods and Goddesses loving mortals after all, even those within their own Familia.

  2. Familia Feud: Some Gods just love to stir up drama and might declare a War Game, a battle between another Familia. A public meeting is held to decide the rules and rewards and whoever loses must obey the terms without question. Are you adventurers on opposing sides? Or perhaps you're among the spoils of war after everything is said and done.

  3. Hired Help: Maybe you'd rather make a living helping out the heroes rather than becoming one. Or this could be a chance to see the dungeon up close without being much of a fighter yourself. Either way, it's a mutually beneficial arrangement. Or at least it's supposed to be.

  4. Harboring A Fugitive: You've been led to believe all your life that monsters are evil, but this one speaks, cries, refuses to attack. It might be a challenge finding a safe place for a monster but you're determined not to let it die by the hands of hostile adventurers.

  5. Out On the Town: You've got some free time and there are plenty of places to spend it. Bars, shopping, entertainment districts. If you don't have company to join you, you might just find it while you're out and about.

  6. On A Mission: Your Familia has accepted a new quest from the Guild and you've been chosen to accompany a team down into the dungeon. Whether you like each other or not, you'll have to depend on one another if you want to return home safe.

  7. Rich Or Poor: Not all Familias are created equal. Gods and Goddesses with larger Familias can live with ease because of their children's earnings while ones from smaller Familias may have to pick up extra work to support their members, including the members themself. For some, this might be a deal breaker but for others they will stick by their Familia and patron God no matter what.

  8. Personal Escort: Because of their limited power, Gods often rely on one of their strongest children for protection when traveling to potentially dangerous areas or events. You wouldn't have the heart to refuse them now, would you?

  9. Monster Festival: It's that time of year when the city comes together to watch brave adventurers battle against monsters brought to the surface. Food stalls are set up everywhere and the excitement is contagious. Even if something were to happen, surely there's nothing to worry about with so many powerful Adventurers about?

  10. Among Friends: As a rare intelligent monster, you finally find you aren't alone. Maybe it's best to stick together from now on. Who knows, there might even be more of you out there.

  11. Conversion: The process of when a person switches from one Familia to another. Having a conversion requires the consent of both Gods involved. Be sure this is what you really want, otherwise you'll have to wait a year before switching again.

  12. Newcomer: You're just a visitor from another town looking to see what all the fuss is about. Orario is a place for great job and business opportunities after all. Or maybe you're looking to become one of those great adventurers you've heard so much about.

  13. Plus One: The Gods really know how to throw a party. Unfortunately it's exclusively for fellow Gods and Goddesses, with the exception of a plus one from their respective Familias. Perhaps the most favorite of their children?

  14. Training: Someone has agreed to help you better your combat skills in the dungeon. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

  15. Divine Reunion: One of you has been reincarnated or has finally decided to give this mortal thing a shot. If you knew one another in Heaven this can either be a wonderful reunion or an unfortunate meeting, and if you've never really interacted before this could be the time to change that.

  16. Rank Up: You've been working hard in the dungeon and now it's time to see the results. You know the drill: remove your shirt and your God or Goddess will use their power to activate the hidden symbols on your back, revealing your updated status.

  17. Change Of Pace: After all your hard work fighting and risking your life in the dungeon, it's time for a much deserved break. How about a group trip to the hot springs or the beach or a day of pampering at the spa?

  18. Wildcard: Feel free to mix and match prompts or make up your own!

( lady saint-clair of the saint-clair familia, goddess of safety and salvation. or smth nature themed i'm not 100% lol. saint-clair is preferred in public settings while adrian is fine in private. their household will definitely be covered in all the plants/flowers regardless. i have a couple starters below but i'm honestly ota prompt if these don't work! especially interested in exploring something with fellow gods. open to gen and shipping. ♡ )

13 - PLUS ONE
[ Adrian has always been proud of all their Children, from the beginning when it just a little Familia all the way to now and for the Children they will yet to have in the future. So imagine their disappointment being told only one could be chosen to accompany them to the upcoming banquet. Fortunately for you, you just so happen to be passing by as the invitation is set down on the table. '...Say, will you be available next weekend?'

Fast forward to next weekend and the Lady Saint-Clair walks arm in arm with their plus one for the evening, donning an elegant gown and flowers in their hair. Warm waves and hellos are offered to familiar faces as they pass, the click of heels eventually coming to a stop as they near the dance floor. ]
I don't know about you but I'll be needing wine all night. Gallons of the stuff.

[ Just then, a waiter walks past with a tray of hors d'oeuvres and Adrian scoops one up, raising it to your lips to taste. ] Say 'ah'~

16 - RANK UP
[ They've been doing these all day it feels like. After their Familia's most recent expedition in the dungeon, it was only right they wished to see their progress. The clock strikes almost ten when a figure appears in the doorway and Adrian crosses their arms. ]

You're late.

[ Not that there was actually a time limit or anything, but they were in the middle of settling down in their robe with a nice glass of wine. Most everyone else had come earlier in the day but it's not like they have the heart to turn anyone away either. ]
