THE ANIMAL NATURE MEME

In this meme, someone has been involved in some kind of an animal transformation, either completely or partially. This can range from a character being forced to wear plush ears and a tail to a twisted science experiment to lycanthropy or any other option in between, temporary or permanent, played for crack or for drama.

The transformed character might have been forced into it, did it voluntarily, or were brainwashed into enjoying every minute of it. The "animal" nature might affect them at different levels as well, where one person might be completely unchanged mentally, a human stuck in the wrong shape, while another completely loses themselves in whatever they've become, being entirely taken over by base animal instincts.

Is this a prank? A dare? Did someone lose a bet? Did you get on the wrong side of a mad scientist? Is the other person a friend? Your new owner? Your worst enemy gloating over your plight? Pick an option or make up your own, and let the fur fly.

"Don't. Say. Anything."

Kon folds his arms tightly across his chest. The big, fluffy dog ears that have sprouted on top of his head flatten back in annoyance, and the tail that's poking out from his rear twitches and flicks angrily. In his worst nightmares, Kon never imagined something like this. Being turned into a cat? Or...half-cat? Cat-boy? He doesn't even know what to call himself. He just knows this is messed up.

"It's not funny."

Tim's eyes widened when he spotted Kon. His eyes moved to those ears and the tail that was twitching. His own cat ears, which he was trying to force back under his hair, stood up straight and his tail puffed up behind him. It looked like Conner wasn't alone at least?

"Y-You too?"

Kon's ears sprang forward in excitement, and he took in the sight of Tim sporting the same kittenish features he was. Well, at least they weren't alone. And if Tim had his brain on the case, Kon was confident that these pesky things would be nixed in no time.

"I hate to say it, but the ears suit you," Kon teases.

Tim's ears move back against his dark hair when Kon teases him. His tail lashed behind him, clearing showing his annoyance.

"They do not. What was the last thing you remember before getting your ears anyway?" Darn straight Tim was on the case. He wanted these ears and tail gone before anyone, especially Dick, caught sight of them.

Kon's gaze follows Tim's flicking tail. Actually, he can't seem to stop staring at it. The way it moves. Flicks. The way it just...needs to be grabbed. Or nipped at. Or something. It's taunting him, right? On purpose and stuff.

"Uh...." Kon visibly shakes himself, trying to concentrate on anything but Tim's flicking tail. God, if he could just...grab it... "I don't know. I was trying to make Mac n Cheese."

Tim sighed and started to pace, his tail whipping back and forth still. "Then it seems unrelated. I was reading something in my room. I can't think of anything that would cause spontaneous growth of animal body parts. Nothing science related. It could be magic but who would do this? And why?" Tim began to ramble off, not paying attention to whatever Kon was looking at.

Kon tries his best. He really does. He tries to listen, to focus on what Tim's saying, but his brain just keeps going back, his gaze swinging desperately to Tim's tail. Kon's pupils dilate, his vision honing in, and as Tim paces, he can't stand it any longer.

With a precision that surprises him, Kon pounces. On his knees, he reaches out and snatches Tim's tail, grinning in excitement as he catches it and stops it from twitching.

Tim continued on with his speculation for a moment. He didn't notice the change in Superboy until he was suddenly moving. He turned to say something but all that came out of his mouth was a started mew noise.

"Ah! K-Kon? What are you doing?!" Tim's ears were again at full attention. The tail in Kon's hand twitched and tried to pull itself free from the half-kryptonian's grasp.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Kon asked, his ears sliding back in agitation as his own tail flicked wildly. His hands were firmly grasping Tim's tail, not letting it out of his sight. "I caught--"

Kon pauses, as if it suddenly dawned on him that maybe this was really, really weird behavior. He gently let Tim's tail go, but his gaze continued to focus on it and his ears slid almost flat to his skull. "I couldn't help it," he says, stiffly. "Your tail keeps flicking. It's driving me crazy." He reaches out for it again, missing it, grabbing, missing, catching. He can't seem to stop himself.

Tim stared at Kon, his ears twitching and moving down against Tim's hair. His tail, as if alive, continued to twitch and moved faster the more Kon tried to grab at it. The young Robin stepped away, wondering if Kon would follow his tail if it started to move further out of his grasp.

... !!

[ Her hands quickly snap to where her tapered ears should be, but they're gone. Instead, her fingers wander a little higher to find the soft, plush fur that lines her new ears that come to a point atop her head. Cat ears. ]

What?

[ Breathless and alarmed, the goddess reincarnate releases the newly formed ears to glance over her shoulder, eyeing the swishing tale that sits right above her bottom. With a yelp of surprise, she blinks.

And realizes it could be worse. She tilts her head, trapping her tail between her hands as she twists to her side, brushing her fingers along the fur with a bright smile. It's only temporary, right? Some fixable mistake. ]

[This would probably mean Mokona was turned into a human? Could also do AU where she was human and turned into manju-ish form or another animal, Mokona cosplaying, or actual animal transformation. Open to lots of things, really, as long as it isn't smutty.]

Huh?

[Minako had been stopped in her way out of the costume party by an underclassman with a question about her famous volleyball serve, so if course she'd waved her friends on ahead, promising to catch up. As she hurried along the sidewalk she'd started to pull off the paw mittens she was wearing, only to discover that they were stuck.

Stuck? How could they possibly be stuck? But they were, no matter how she tugged and pulled. Wondering if maybe she just can't get a grip on them, Minako bites down on one paw, intending to pull it off with her teeth, but lets go again with a sharp yelp when it hurts. Maybe she caught a finger on accident. It's not like she can feel a costume.

She reaches up instead to remove the headband with ears on it, but finds no headband at all. Just a pair of floppy puppy ears poking up through her hair.

And has that tail she's wearing started to wag? No. Must be her imagination. Just... imagination.]

[ Sirius is more than a little used to being a dog. In fact, there are times where he prefers being Padfoot than he does being Sirius.

He's never been stuck in between, though, not since he was first training himself to make the shift.

He fidgets uncomfortably, trying to keep his tail low enough and straight enough not to poke out from under his robes. His floppy, shaggy black Padfoot ears still stick out from his mop of black hair, and after a moment he simply gives up on standing in favor of sitting and kicking at them with his scruffy back paws. ]

This isn't fleas, I promise.

Once again, Maki had come to collect on part of the debt Tohko owed her and had forced the book girl to wear a pair of black cat ears and a tail for three whole days. It was pretty terrible, but Tohko had no choice to comply, unless she wanted to pay an even higher price further down the road.

So, she was forced to walk to the bookstore wearing the things, and even though she would glare at anyone who gave her a funny look, she would sometimes get into character because she was a book girl and loved small flights of fancy.
