There are outliers, of course, but many societies have come to the point where nudity is a reserved affair. That's understandable though, isn't it? The naked body is like one big target, with all our most sensitive spots exposed in a most dangerous way. Maybe it's some kind of carryover from primitive times, but it's common practice to shield your body unless you're taking care of inescapable tasks, with someone you trust, or being intimate - with the last two often overlapping.

No matter if you're less than comfortable showing what you've been given or if it's next to normal with you, one situation is nearly universally awkward, however: getting naked for the first time in front of someone you intend on being intimate with. If social lubricant is involved, things may be different, yet otherwise, you may feel that uncertainty in the pit of your stomach. What if they don't like the way you look? What if they ask about your scar? They can say they love you, but does that mean your whole body.

Whether, the time has come to take that first step with this person, no matter what secrets about your body you're not sure you want to reveal or how confident you are with the situation. Now, you'll bare it all...

[ well, this surely wasn't the way he had expected he would first see the duke's cock.

but tighnari is nothing if not a consummate professional. wriothesley's injuries need attention, and so tighnari had requested that he strip to better be able to assess him and complete a physical exam. he probably should have said that it would be all right for him to keep his underpants on..

what's done is done, and tighnari arches a brow as wriothesley returns from divesting himself of his clothing, stark naked in tighnari's exam room now. it takes all of his concentration to not allow his eyes to wander, or remain focused below the belt, but it's certainly difficult not to appreciate the warden's body. he's cut and strong, rippling with lean muscle and old scars; tighnari is a professional, but he has eyes, as well, and this time of year is -

well, no matter. his job is his job, and wriothesley's already removed his underclothing, so there's no reason to have him put them back on. tighnari gestures to the table. ]

Go on up, and lie back for me.

[ oh, he hadn't meant completely naked? wriothesley is unfortunately too attuned to the standard, impersonal check-up procedures (meant for prisoners, not wardens, or, as it turns out, self-made men like dukes).

his own burgeoning attraction to sumeru's healer (who had been seconded to fontaine for a period of time) notwithstanding, he neatly sets his clothes aside and gets up onto the table, laying back. his eyes drift, once again, to tighnari's ears, before they settle on that pretty face. he doesn't miss the way tighnari's gaze lingers, however brief, and it occurs to him that maybe the good healer hadn't actually meant for him to get naked completely.

You didn't mean for me to get completely naked, right?

[ at wriothesley's candor.. tighnari has to laugh. ]

No, I didn't, but I don't mind.

[ he didn't mean that to sound flirty. but it sounded flirty, didn't it? ah. tighnari's cheeks tinge the slightest pink, but tighnari is a professional, he won't let this get under his skin. at least, not until he's completed his examination. ]

Do you have any concerns? Any more pain than last time? Signs of infection? Warmth and redness around the injury site, weeping wounds, foul smells, things like that.

[ the duke has been injured enough times in his life that tighnari is quite sure that he knows how to identify infection, but he elaborates anyway, if only to fill the space as he snaps on a pair of clean gloves and steps in near. for all that he'd been a little bit flushed, tighnari's expression is clear and crisp as he begins his work, examining wriothesley's chest, carefully palpating his abdomen. ]

Any pain here?

[ he definitely picks up on the flirtiness in the pretty healer's tone -- goodness, it seems the duke has a weakness, after all -- the same way he does the dusting of a blush on those fair cheeks.

a lesser man would have pressed his advantage (and perhaps earn the healer's scorn along the way), but wriothesley's a consummate charmer, his situational awareness honed into a fine point from years and years of necessity, of rough edges and blades sheathed in silk. the overworld is perhaps even more perilous than the underworld, all things considered.

still, he settles in and smiles, inclining his head. this latest expedition has earned him more than a few wounds, hastily dressed; more for utility than healing. but tighnari has seen to it that wriothesley's wounds are properly cleaned and flushed out (a couple of them had been in the starting stages of infection thanks to the punishing pace wriothesley's kept up in that mission), and now, they look... well, they look better.

the starburst shaped wound near his kidney is the worst; followed by the sealed up healing wounds on his forearms, the one across his chest -- shallow and ugly, cutting across a much older scar, a damn sight better than when wriothesley had first come in to see him. ]

Not yet. Although I suppose the soreness persists. There isn't any long lasting damage, right?

[ tighnari shakes his head. ]

No, once these wounds heal up you'll be right as rain again. Nothing permanently damaged, thankfully.

[ and like as not, that's due to the duke's own experience in battle. when you're in close combat often, you learn how to take a blow well - how to turn and move your body so that you receive the least amount of damage possible. even if wriothesley doesn't realize he's doing it, he is likely doing it.

nevertheless, tighnari looks over his wounds with a critical eye, examining not only the lacerations themselves, but also the bandages, to see how much blood is there, to check for pus, but all he finds is a a little blood and some fluid that isn't worrisome. the injuries all look nice and clean and they're healing well, already crowding with granulation tissue. that's what he likes to see. they don't need cleaning again, and tighnari doesn't want to accidentally abrade away any fresh new tissue, so rather than scrubbing them again, he moves away to pluck up a tub of antibiotic ointment. ]

I can give you something for the pain. You'll be back to normal in no time.

[ a warm, easy smile blooms across his face before tighnari begins delicately applying the ointment to each of the lacerations, making sure to coat them lightly but thoroughly; a wet wound heals better than a dry one. lastly, he unrolls some bandages. ]

Sit up for me now, please.
