Because is there anything better than a dangerous, potentially deadly stoic whose one weakness is their sweet, harmless object of affection? Especially if the latter has the former wrapped around their finger, knowingly or otherwise. To avoid tl;dr - suddenly, a wild weakness approaches! Their attempt to turn you into a puddle of goo at the knees, whether purposeful or not, is very effective. This meme is pretty shamelessly for fluff of the gen or shipping variety, opening up, dokis, and also more dokis. (Why did he let her talk him into this? He can't say; Kafka normally can get him to just about anything without much argument on his part. Most would have found it an uphill battle and he isn't quite certain as to what destination she has in mind. They weren't needed in the recent script and he had been mostly keeping to himself aside from when he was found in her room.

The annoyance one would expect from him isn't there aside from weak attempts at telling himself that her leading him like a puppy was only him doing his duty. He is her guard, her weapon. Her partner in an undying sense once he takes a moment to look through the sunglasses he's wearing around this metropolis area. Idyllic and free, happy.

(Her name remains unmentioned knowing that they could just as easily get caught if he did. However it still begs the question, what was it she felt need to drag him out for? There's nothing he can use as an answer yet but he likely will learn soon.

If she intended to tell him that is since it would be very like her to say nothing yet and leave it as a surprise. Not without him likely grumbling in some weak attempt to remind himself he isn't supposed to enjoy of it. A struggle in itself really, whenever Kafka sets her sights on something from him.)

Shadow magic, in my world, can attack the mind or the soul how yours did, but it does it with a corruption that yours didn't, and it felt like it was wrapped around some of the natural magics that druids use. How did you weave the magics together that way?"

From him, it was a genuine question asked with real eagerness, wanting to learn. Unadulterated appreciation and curiosity.

[ So Lucifer hasn't exactly taken a more active approach in the management of Hell and its inhabitants since beating Adam to a pulp and watching Charlie's weird little housekeeper gleefully stab him to death. He figures, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Look what happened the last time he tried that. Ha! One existence-altering change up of the world order at a time for him. His wonderful, darling daughter is all over this one, and he's not looking to step on her toes now that her redemption plan is growing some tiny but sturdy legs.

But he has been around more. Hanging around the hotel, socializing for as long as he can stand before awkwardly fleeing back to his workshop, making up for lost time with Charlie, losing time as that pesky interloper of a Radio Demon constantly sticks his grinning face where it doesn't belong— And certainly making himself more of a thorn in Heaven's side when they come looking for Charlie's precious head on a platter.

You'd think they'd figure out to stop throwing themselves against a (fallen) seraph's might, but no, those winged assholes are happy to send down periodic raids with leaders somehow higher and higher on the scale of sheer obnoxious jackassery every time. At least Lucifer's getting out more, stretching his wings. Keeping his daughter and her frankly bizarre but somehow endearing companions safe. From Heaven, at least. Charlie does need to learn to stand on her own when it comes to Hell's demonic hierarchy. That's why he told her not to take any shit.

This particular raid and its new general leaves Lucifer as intact as the rest of them — physically, at least. Emotionally?

Ha. Ha ha ha.

There's a reason he's hidden himself away in the darkest, dustiest corner of the hotel, i.e. his workshop, and has been ignoring every single one of Charlie's alarmed texts. A reason he's hunched over a table without turning on the lights, tools spread out, tinkering with a brand new rubber duck. A reason he's banished even adorable, sweet KeeKee from his glowering presence.

That reason has one name: Lilith.

And that's the same reason he very pointedly ignores the door creaking open at his back. If he doesn't acknowledge Alastor's existence, maybe he'll go away! Avoid kicking Lucifer while he's down! Not take every possible opportunity to annoy the everliving shit out of him for once!
