You know who likes a good road trip? Everyone likes a good road trip! So aren't you glad you get to go on one now? Of course you are.

How it works:
1. Post with your character, with their name | canon and any preferences in the subject line
2. Someone else tags you. Congratulations, those characters are now on a road trip together! To where? Who cares! We only care about the journey here
3. Go to the RNG and get a random number between 1 and 15 to pick your scenario, or combine numbers or make up your own
4. ???
5. ROAD TRIP STYLED PROFIT!

Scenarios:
1: LOST You should have made a left toin at Albuquerque, or maybe you've been holding the map upside down this whole time! Whatever it is, you're hopelessly LOST. Will you make it back on the path to your destination, or will you find a new adventure? ~~Try not to open any hatches.~~

2: Tourist Trap Okay, you're all for seeing the sights, but World's Biggest Doorstopper? World's Smallest Chicken? World's Noisiest Whistle? Do we really have to stop here, too?

3: Car Trouble Maybe you got a flat tire. Maybe your engine's stalled. Or maybe you just overestimated how far you could get on a half tank of gas. Either way, you're broke down on the side of the road and the nearest station is miles away; better get behind it and push!

4: Bad Weather Driving in the rain? No problem. Driving in torrential downpours or a blinding blizzard? Big problem! Better find a way to get out of the storm fast!

5: When Ya Gotta Go... Didn't I tell you to go before we left? Well, even if you did, maybe you shouldn't have had that 44 ounce Super Big Gulp, because there's not another rest stop for miles. Maybe you can find an empty bottle in the back...

6: Road Delays Stuck in traffic? Stuck at road construction? Stuck in a funeral procession? Bridge out? Whatever it is, it's blocking your way. Do you wait patiently, or maybe find your own way around it.

7: Smokey and the Bandit Oh no, those blue lights behind you can't be good. Maybe you should just pull over and accept your speeding ticket like a decent citizen. Or, maybe you should floor it. High speed chase anyone?

8: Night Driving You decided to drive through the night, and now it's one AM and you're all out of coffee. Wake up a friend and make them help you stay awake; falling asleep at the wheel is dangerous!

9: Ghost Town Boy, this town sure is quiet. And... kind of creepy. Oh God, did something in those corn rows just move? I hear banjo music; DRIVE FASTER!

10: Roadkill Good going, you hit an animal. I sure hope you feel good about yourself. Now you've killed the poor- oh, it's still moving? What do we do now!?
10a: The I Know What You Did Last Summer Edition That animal you hit was a little more human than you care for... oh dear...

11: ROAD RAGE That jerk cut me off! How dare he!? I'll make him pay! Or maybe you cut off a less-than-friendly driver of your own, and now he's after you...

12: Carjacked Awww, that was a good lunch. ...Wait, I know this is where we parked... Dude, where's the car!?!?

13: Hitchhiking Who said you needed a car for a road trip? Stick that thumb out and catch a ride where you're going. Maybe you and a buddy are chillin' with the pigs in a trailer, or maybe that nice looking hitchhiker you picked up down the road is not as nice as you thought...

14: Fantasy Car Roads? Where you're going, you don't need roads. If you're in Doc's DeLorean, anyway. Or maybe the car is really Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Or a spy car. Or the Batmobile. Or a Transformer! Whatever it is, this car is NOT normal.

15: Are We There Yet? Roller's choice! Pick your favorite option, or two, or three, or just roll with whatever feels right!

[ Piccolo's life has always been very weird, and he mostly just goes with the flow of it now. In typical fashion, his first road trip to celebrate finally getting his licence is no exception. Picking up a little lost oni hitchhiker isn't even in the top 10 weirdest things he's done. ]

Hey, you're going to leave a mark, get your face off the glass! I just got this car, you know.

[ His Jeep is perfect for a guy who lives in the wilderness, though right now they're approaching a city. Part of the fun of driving is going somewhere, and while he could have gotten into town for supplies faster if he flew, he's doing it one step at a time. Unexpected oni in the bagging area or not. ]

[ Casey is not one to fall asleep in a car. It's only out of necessity or sheer exhaustion, which was the case for a while there. Not a long nap by any means. He leaned back and nodded off enough to miss when they crossed a state line before picking his head back up and grumbling about it. Neither of them were getting a lot of sleep. The plan was mostly get the hell out of that damn town. The good thing about the FBC being massively involved is they didn't have to do the insurmountable amount of paperwork that would usually follow closing a case. Everything's going to be locked up and classified for the most part.

Get your stuff and clear out before Kiernan stops being able to convince her coworkers that scanning his brain for any lingering traces of darkness isn't the best idea ever. They said they'd handle everything dealing with Wake and keep them clued in. No argument there. Just slide out before everyone else turns the place into a quarantine zone. Saga's got to get back to her kid anyway. He's frankly just as concerned and wants to see her with his own two eyes. Being fully convinced the sweet girl was dead for a while was harrowing to say the least. And whatever's going on with David. Well, he'll just stay by her side for a while to make sure everything's okay.

He shifts uncomfortably in his seat, readjusting the belt. Sitting in a car is not great on an injury. Who knew? She doesn't need to worry about that. ]

Why don't we stop at the next exit? I didn't see you eat anything before we left. [ A pause, like an after-thought so he can pin the blame on himself and not make it seem like he's overly concerned about her. He is. ] And we're out of coffee.

[It worked. They’d done it. Logan is safe. Alex is safe. And so is Alan. They’d done it. It doesn’t mean that her thoughts are any less tumultuous in the aftermath, but. They’d done it.

(Saga’s trying not to think. She’d made a choice. Her daughter. Her partner. And she doesn’t regret it. She could never regret it. She would make the decision again, without hesitation. ~~She HAD made the decision again.~~ But she wonders what it says about her, that her marriage, her husband had never crossed her mind. They’d FIXED things. The important things. And that hadn’t included her marriage. Hadn’t included David. That hadn’t been important. Hadn’t been necessary. … She could live with that, as long as her daughter is safe, and alive, and so is Alex.

Where does she go from here?)

For now, at least. She goes home. THEY. Go home. Whatever and however that ends up being. (That’s coming dangerously close to thinking about it.) Driving, at least, gives her something to focus on, even if it allows her a dangerous amount of time to dwell. And worry, with her partner dozing off in the passenger seat. Until he’s not anymore, shifting uncomfortably, and she worries a little harder. He’s been through hell the past few days (god, how many has it been?), and he can’t be comfortable.

She glances over at him, giving him a little lopsided smile. She doesn’t need to be convinced to stop. He could use the break, probably. Get out of the car a bit.] We can’t have that, now, can we.

[And when they reach the next exit she hits the turn signal on and takes it.]

We really can't.

[ He agrees, flashing a little smile her way. Hoping he's playing everything off well enough to not send her into an internal spiral (ha!) of concern. (She's always worrying. He always has to say not to. It's mutual but he thinks he's less obvious about it.) Knuckles rub into his eyes. A hand through his hair after, trying to put it back into place. Trying to look more put together. If all he can do is look put together when nothing else in his life is, that's what he does. Three piece suit all the way.

He's looking over at her after, this affixed sort of frown on his face. He's used to his life being maneuvered around like puzzle pieces. Fit into a certain mold. He's been dealing with it for years. New book says a character borrowing his name likes a certain drink and Casey wonders why he's been downing it months before it was published. Never liked it before. Must've started the same time it got drafted down. Coincidence? No. Never has been. Minor example of a simple switch among several devastating ones.

That she got hit with it bothers him more than any of that. It's not like him and Miranda. David's a nice guy. ...Thought he was anyway. ]

I've got a lot of time built up so I'm good loaning you some. I know you used up a bunch when Logan caught that bug.

[ He doesn't exactly have a choice in not going into the office. Can't exactly work with a hole through his insides. They'll probably call her Monday though. She's too good at her job not to. Stay home, Saga.

There's a pause and his eyes squint at the exit signs she took. ]

You in a pancake mood, Anderson?

[It’s too late for that, Casey. She’s concerned. And it could probably be called a spiral. But its better than where her thoughts would be wanting to go, otherwise. He’s been through a lot. Not matter how he tries to play it off. Her eyes find him again, briefly, as she drives.]

[That’s one less thing to worry about. They need some time off. Time to figure out where they go from here. Time to heal, too, in his case. And she doesn’t want to let him out of her sight. It’s irrational, probably, but she doesn’t care. She wants to keep him close. She’d almost lost him. So no. She’ll stay home. They both will. At least for a bit.]

Yeah. Yeah, I could go for some pancakes.

[ From some GUIDE TO AMERICAN HAUNTINGS, ROADSIDE EDITION, a cheap novelty gag book, obviously, right?: Spotted around roadsides, carnivals and quirky tourist spots all around North America, the apparition known first as the "Phantom Prom Date" began appearing in oral storytelling traditions tracing somewhere back to rural Michigan in the early 50's.
Most early known renditions of the story involve a young woman in a green silk prom dress flagging down a passing driver on an otherwise quiet road and asking them for a warm coat and a ride home. Most iterations have the girl disappearing at an impossible moment, with her borrowed coat now empty in her place.
She isn't spotted as often these days- at least, not in her infamous green silk gown. The Graveyard Rose and the Girl in the Diner variations of the tale imply she's at least had a change in wardrobe if not her penchant for disappearing acts.

So. Yeah. She's here to haunt your trip. Or to ask if you're going to eat the rest of that food. Possibly both. New or assumed CR, friendly or negative all welcome, but not feeling shippy/smutty stuff rn.]

[Western road trip for the win? Currently working my way through the show, so she's only current up to the season 1 finale. However I am... aware of certain large events that come at the end of the next season for her, and am always here for AUs where that doesn't happen, or other sorts of fix-its.

[ooc: This is Marylou from 'On the Road', movie based on Jack Kerouac's book by the same name. In canon she's 16 and married, but divorced the next year. I was thinking of the hitchhiking option but I could also play her pre canon and going to the same school as Shawn (with some assumed CR). I'm happy to write a starter if you let me know your preferences. I'm okay with all the prompts although not too keen on nr. 14 Fantasy]

[ooc: Btw, are you familiar with my canon at all? I'm not with yours but I did the quickest of google searches to find out Shawn's location is Philadelphia. I'm writing Marylou hitchhiking about two hours from there, but up to you which direction he is driving.]

Marylou had a fantastic time in New York with her husband Dean and his friends Sal and Carlo. They went to different clubs every night, drank, smoked and danced till they collapsed. She felt lucky to live a life of freedom, so unlike most girls who were waiting to become housewives. She got to travel all over the States and meet a bunch of interesting people. After spending Christmas in North Carolina they had driven up to New York to celebrate New Year's Eve.

A few days later they are heading back home to Denver and what do you know, she and Dean get into a heated argument. Sal tries to act as a mediator but soon enough Dean is threatening to dump her in the side of the road and Marylou's response is to jump out the minute they stop at the next junction.

Stupid, she knows, as she watches Sal looking back though the rear window while Dean speeds away. At first she imagines he will turn around and fetch her after he's decided she's waited enough (and had her punishment in that way) but it doesn't happen, and since it's winter, she starts to feel cold really fast.

She remembers them going past a gas station earlier so that's where she decides to walk to, all the while making sure her arm is reached out and her thumb up every time a car comes by. At this point it doesn't even matter which direction she gets a lift.
