If you were mine

if you were ( M I N E )

No blank comments. (Or at least no blank subject lines.) In place of that, leave a comment using the format "If you were mine [x]."
• Fill in the blank with what your character would do/have/provide for a partner, good or bad. What does being their significant other entail?
• Thread!

If you were mine, I would shelter you from the dangers of Heaven and Hell alike.

If you were mine, I wouldn't be your Romeo, I'd be your Mercutio.

I don't like "mine"...too possessive.

But I take care of the people who depend on me, no matter what it takes.

Does that translate as saying you're more comfortable with the word yours?

I wouldn't have said so, but I don't know. Maybe.

Where I come from, it used to be too easy to own people. Trying to change that. I don't want to belong to anyone else, and I don't want anyone else to belong to me. For the most part, though, people don't last long in the Wasteland alone. "Ours" is a good word.

Ours is always a good word. I'd rather not own anyone or be owned as it is too easy to lose a sense of self tying yourself into one person or even one ideal. But you're right, humans by their nature need community, need a connection, and even the loners seek out that eventually.
