The Body Heat Meme

Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

"I'll use one of the other blankets."

She goes back to the pile and picks another one up. It's pretty ratty, but it doesn't look like any of the others are in much better shape. She wraps it tightly around herself and bounces a little, hoping the motion will help. It's not doing terribly much good, though. It's really cold.

His teeth were chattering by now, pacing back and forth. It seemed like their freedom really did depend on Gregson figuring this out. He hated to think that, because while the captain followed their trails, the killer was getting away. They had a short window of time, and every moment was crucial.

She can hear his teeth chattering from across the container, telling her that he's just as cold as she is. Great. They need to do something about this, and they need to do it quick.

She comes back to him, stands in front of him.

"I don't think the blankets are enough on their own. I think we should share body heat."

His head just snapped to look at her. What are you saying, Watson? "What are you suggesting?" Because if it was getting naked, it was too cold for that.

Getting naked would be the most efficient way to handle this, but she's so far from suggesting that.

"Here."

She takes his hands, and pulls them from his body, spreading his arms wide, and steps close, against him, wrapping her arms around him.

"This."

So he knew what body heat was obviously, and it was the most logical thing to do, but the near surprise on his face is pretty genuine. He blinks at her, actually feeling some of the heat. Okay, Watson was right.

"This will do," he said, giving her some credit.

"We can warm up like this for a few minutes, then go back to looking for a way out."

She's feeling some of his warmth as well, which is good. She tightens her embrace slightly, making sure they're as close as possible, then turns her head and rests it on his shoulder.

In a gesture to keep her warm, he rubbed at her arms to gain some heat. He kept her close as almost unnatural as it felt to be this close to someone he wasn't sleeping with.

Joan was of course much more used to close physical contact with friends, used to hugging as a means of greeting and farewell. Still, it was weird to be this close to Sherlock. They had maintained the distance that was necessary for their original relationship as companion and client, and even a touch was noteworthy, much less an embrace like this.

She reciprocated, rubbing at his back.

He settled into the embrace, not entirely minding it. It was foreign still, only ever this close to someone when he was paying someone to be, but Joan was the closest person to him. She understood him better than most, and while there was still much he kept from her, he could bare this well enough.

So he kept her close, arms around her and focused on his own breathing and the warmth they were generating.

The warmth they shared was enough to keep Joan from shivering, which was a welcome result. Still, there were more issues to consider than their immediate warmth.

"We need to think about what to do if there really isn't a way to get ourselves out of here," she says quietly. "Gregson will notice that we haven't been in contact. Of course, with the time that will take, plus the time for him to figure out where we were going, and then find this container among all the others? We need a plan for long-term survival in this cold."

He knew. He knew all of that and had been mulling it over in his head. Trying to start a fire seemed like a good solution, but there was both the means to do so and the face there was no certain way to test if the container was chemically free. Whatever cargo was once in here could have left residue on the floor which could cause the entire thing to go up in flames.

"It's just you and I. What are the symptoms and stages of hypothermia, fully?" He had never seen it on a body, though homeless people did come through the morgue. Those bodies couldn't be touched though, and they were the result of the end stages of hypothermia.

Joan had worked in the ER, so she had seen hypothermia first hand to gowith her medical knowledge.

"Mild, shivering and possibly mild confusion. Moderate, violent shivering, marked confusion, cyanotic lips and fingers. Severe, confusion, hallucinations, organ failure, death."
