There is a first time for everything, after all, and they say you never forget your first.

First Kiss: Is there anything sweeter?

They wait for the car to pick them up for this mission. It's a nothing mission, a mission first years can handle. A waste of anyone else's time. Their teacher will be outside should it go truly wrong, but that could always be too late. Nanami's trying to focus on what they were told, but Haibara keeps talking.

If Haibara weren't also warming his frozen hands, he'd turn away. Instead the vein in his forehead twitches. "I don't know," Nanami says. "I know exactly what you do."

Nanami's never been good on these colder missions and it's become habit for Haibara to keep warmers handy, although he'd forgotten this time and it's absentmindedly that he starts trying to warm Nanami's hands with his own.

He's got them up, breathing on them to add a little more warmth to the process, gaze drifting down the road for any sign of the car.

"....Did they have an accident maybe?"

His hands must feel like blocks of ice in Haibara's, but Haibara continues to hold and breath on his hands. It's appreciated ever more the longer they are out here. Really, it shouldn't take this long to get a car.

"Between the garage and the front door? I would hope not. It wouldn't bode well for the mission." Nanami frowns slightly and shuffles ever so slightly closer to Haibara.

"It shouldn't take this long, though." He shifts slightly, moves so he's at least trying to block some of the wind.

"We should go back inside if it takes much longer. They can come get us."

Haibara is correct. It shouldn't take this long. Perhaps the wait itself is some kind of test? An impatient student might leave and go to do the job without the supervision they were instructed to have. Well, that's not Nanami.

"We can wait here," Nanami says. He knows Haibara is warm enough, unless keeping Nanami's hands warm is cooling him down noticeably. He looks down for signs of chill. Sorcerers need to be able to endure all kinds of environments. It's why he doesn't complain about the cold. However, Haibara is also his classmate, his partner on this mission, and... his friend. He might reconsider on Haibara's behalf, if it's necessary.

"If you're sure." He hesitates for a moment before releasing Nanami's hands and shrugging his coat off.

"Put this on. It should help."

His jaw drops open. "You'll get cold!" Nanami protests. He nearly shivers seeing Haibara without his jacket on, much less having his own off. Yet he knows he's the colder one at the moment, and Haibara has already taken off his jacket. The jacket will cool down without anyone wearing it. Logic dictates someone should put it on and fast.

He accepts the jacket, even as he regrets losing the warmth of Haibara's hands on his own, and sliders it on over his own. "We should stand closer, to keep you warm," Nanami says. He moves closer because Haibara might insist he's not cold, but he most likely will not insist Nanami steps back. His hands, his cold icy hands, come up to rest against Haibara's unfairly warm chest.

"I'll be fine." He counters, but steps in close, hands finding Nanami's wrists, tugging his hands down.

"Put those in the pockets, I'm not going to be cold and I'd rather see you not shivering than deal with a little cold myself."

Fine. Deal with a little cold. A little cold. It's freezing out here, temperatures opposed to human health and safety. Haibara's doing that. For him. For a moment, it shocks him into not thinking.

While in that state, Nanami leans across the short distance and presses his cold lips against Haibara's.

He'd been expecting more protests, honestly, but the kiss has him still before he kisses Nanami back, one hand curling around the back of his head as Haibara steps closer. presses himself against the slightly taller teenager.

Nanami shivers against Haibara entirely due to the cold temperature. He kisses Haibara back, hungrier for it now they're kissing, hungrier than he'd expect. His hands move to Haibara's waist before sliding under his shirt and around to his back, warm and warm, so warm.

He makes a quiet sound into the kiss, hands sliding over Nanami's back to pull him even closer, kissing him back with just as much need, completely losing himself in the moment, the feel of Nanami's body against his own.

And when it breaks, he doesn't pull back, breathing against Nanami's lips. "...Kento." It's soft, a little hesitant like he's trying it on to see how it sounds.

His mind only returns once the kiss is over. They're still wrapped around each other, pressed together, and breathing the same air. Nanami can tell. It's warmer. He... kissed Haibara. He kissed Haibara. Oh god, what is he supposed to—

His given name makes his brain short circuit again. It's so personal. He feels naked in the cold, but Haibara keeps him warm. In fairness, he should. "Yu," he whispers faintly.

His smile is quick and honest, Haibara just pressing another quick kiss to his lips. "We can talk once we're alone after the mission."

A sound quite possibly the prodigy of a squeak and absolute horror escapes. He flushes a tinge red but pulls back half a step.

"The mission comes first," Nanami agrees. He hopes his face doesn't give away the fact he forgot about the mission. For a tiny moment there.
