THE SEARCH HISTORY MEME

🔲 12:00 AM - Your character's search history has been publicly posted for the world to see
🔲 06:09 PM - STEP ONE: post a top level with some of the strange things your character has searched for. Feel free to use fancy formatting or just list them, it's all good.
🔲 4:20 PM - STEP TWO: react to what other people have searched for. That's it, that's the meme.

...I'm trying to understand the transition from looking up something with clear single-minded focus and then suddenly dropping that to look up tsukemono. Unless you were just hungry? Or something.

Researching always makes me hungry. All that reading. But it was late, none of the good places near me were open, so I had to keep working despite my growling stomach.

Above convenience store food, are we?

My fridge is my convenience store, most days! I wanted something nice, as a treat.

You'd want that, too. If you had to read another historical analysis of a Russian ballet plot.

I dunno, I do most of my studying while lying down, trying to sleep, and I still get a hefty amount done. Not that I don't maybe get a little hungry sometimes anyway, on account of my appetite, but I'm used to ignoring it, maybe.

Does it help with understanding the story? Wouldn't it be easier to just read it and draw your own conclusions?

It does help some. Historical context is important, if I have to understand the characters which is what I'm really going for.

I saw the ballet some time ago, our local company was staging it and a friend was dancing one of the soloist parts, so I went. That was before I knew we'd have to perform a version of it ourselves.

Are you hungry now? You shouldn't ignore it if you are, that's not good for you.

Ahh, okay. No, you're right. I guess I wasn't thinking in the perspective of performing. To embody something means understanding it as thoroughly as possible. That makes sense, then. Though it does make me wonder how you would handle conflicting written analyses. Would you choose one to prefer, then, based on your feelings?

Yeah, I know. It's complicated, though. I have a weird metabolism. Sometimes I think when I feed it more, it just gets more demanding, like a dog in a cage.

Hmm, it's a good question! I think I'd consider it in terms of what would have the biggest dramatical impact? If one interpretation would create more resistance in the character, I would probably pick that. Whatever would be more touching to watch.

Like a dog in a cage. It's a mental thing, isn't it? We'll have to convince your metabolism that you're free and not dying of starvation.

Ah, guess that's probably why I wouldn't be a great entertainer, haha. I'd likely just go with the path if least resistance, to make things smooth over for the characters.

Yeah, very much mental. There's... something like a panic, sometimes. Like I won't have the energy when I need it if I don't stock up or something.

Conflict and adversity make for great entertainment! We like to look at all the things we really don't want to have ever happen to us. People are funny that way.

Maybe it's not even about food in the first place. Besides the physical need for it, very few things in relation to food are actually about food. Like, hmm --- What's your favourite dish?

((Note: It is my thinking that this post is a plausible starting point for an online friendship which could easily evolve to a local one between two Tokyo residents in the future!!))

How shameful it is to me that I have never before introduced this ballet to my dear friend Iris... Although she is someone I used to dance with, she is more focused on modern dance than all fields and makes more time to round out herself with other pursuits - such as Egyptian mythology. I am sure she would have something interesting to say...
