However, in this scenario, are you murdering them specifically in retribution? Or for other reasons?

Probably not. I'd have a laundry list of grievances before resorting to that. I've been advised over and over again that murder solely for fun is frowned upon.

For humans, I suppose. No one ever frowns upon or questions a bear or a python devouring a human. I would extend that it should be the same for demons and vampires, but humans tend to want to see humanity in everything.

Something something mens rea blah blah... Humans always want to be the center of things. It would make the lives of demons and vampires a bit more comfortable if more humans thought like you. Alas, you already know I find you exceptional among them.

You just haven't met enough occultists, I feel. It is inevitable for us living in close quarters with one another to exchange habits, but ultimately, penalizing demons for acting demonic is ridiculous.
