You're a pop star, or a royal, or maybe even the last of your kind who will bring about the Earth's redemption. Whatever the case may be, you're in a position that may be a bit dicey if you attract the wrong kind of attention.

And you're a bodyguard, a soldier, a knight - a protector. Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth.

Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy.

Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised?

How to Play

1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference.
2. Comment to others.
3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you.

[Who better to serve as a guide through the Darkwood than the Wolfman, after all! Maya was not a good fighter, she didn't have a lot of upper body strength... but hopefully having a bodyguard and being careful would suffice.

At least if she failed she'd be able to try again when her body pulled itself back together.]

Alright. I'm packed up and ready, let's take a gander at this place.

[ There really is few that know the Darkwood better than the man-wolf of the bog. She doesn't know it, since he's been lulled along by pretty eyes and the softest fur in all the lands, but the residents that are somewhat sentient will avoid their sight. He's not exactly the most hospitable neighbor. ]

[ It doesn't stop him from feeling worry for her. Whether if she can die or not, the dwellers of the forest were plenty capable off causing suffering, physical and psychological. Last thing hee wants to see is her pain. ]

I'll need you to stay close to me, the forest is not kind to newcomers.

I'm definitely not in a rush to get eviscerated again, so I'll be glued to your hip.

[She laughs a little, keeping some degree of levity. She'd left behind her steed, one less living thing to endanger or lose to the forest.]

I want to see this place and understand it, at least a little. See what stories are tangled and hidden in the roots.

Honestly, Lumine could be the bodyguard or they watch each other's backs.

[ no one expects Margaery Tyrell to have a bodyguard - and for the most part, Leon is forgotten, blending into the background somewhere with his solemn expression (she's called it a man pout to tease him on more than one occasion) while she demonstrates what it means to be the glamorous center focus at all times. but ever since she had a close call two years ago with a bomb threat that didn't just end up being a threat, Olenna has insisted on a constant and unwavering presence at Margaery's side at all times.

nothing but the best for her granddaughter, of course. Margaery hasn't missed the implications of having someone so attractive so close either; while she will eventually be expected to marry someone of her station or higher, her grandmother knows what it's like to be so loved - and so alone. ]

[ traffic is clear; the limousine is moving at a steady pace and Margaery adjusts her delicate bracelets, trying not to breathe too deeply to keep herself from straining at the whalebone corset. at her insistence, Leon's also dressed up in a three piece and mask. he'd almost be unrecognizable except for the way his hair still falls in the same way - she hadn't had the heart to put him through a full salon experience. but it's a costume masquerade they're heading towards, complete with a charity auction so partygoers can feel good about themselves after spending hundreds of thousands on their own appearances. ]

It's not a problem if you don't. I'll just be sure to take a moment to teach you when I can. That way you don't have to worry about staying by the fringes of the crowd if someone asks me to dance.

[ there's a glimmer of mischief in her eyes as she shoots him a wry smile. ]

( does he know how to dance. it's a somewhat condescending question, if he didn't know they're headed into something entirely outside of his comfort zone. he knows at least 2 dozen ways to kill a man silently, but Krauser never bothered to teach him a waltz. this sort of work is simply not what he was made for, but it's the work he finds himself in now.

you'd think he'd be grateful, to be dodging socialites instead of shambling infected. and he is, to a point. he can see Sherry and Claire more. he's shipped out of the country less. doesn't make it a job he chose for himself, no matter how good at it he happens to be.

his attention is out the window, tracking even the weaving of traffic around them as they barrel towards destiny in an unmarked car. his eyes do not have to flick to Margaery to know she's teasing him. it seems to have become a hobby of hers, trying to ruffle his feathers. ) I know the prom shuffle. ( if he needed to know something more specialized, Hunnigan really failed him on debriefing. at the mention of having fun, there's a barest hint of an upward quirk at his mouth, because they're traveling into a well defined bit. she's been tirelessly fishing to find out what exactly he finds fun. honestly, avoiding the answer is more fun than the actual truth. (which is he does not do a lot for fun.) )

I'm working, ( he reminds. having fun is not for working hours! as the work he is meant to be doing, she of all people should know this. )

[ she wouldn't tease so much if he wasn't the type to respond well, but he does, in his own way. and Margaery is ever so grateful that Leon has a sense of humor because she thinks she might go insane otherwise. he's an excellent listener too, even if it's mostly because he's confined in this small space with her. ]

You can't tell me that dancing with me would be an excellent way to keep me safe - maybe even the safest, since you'll be right there if anything happens.

[ there's still a bit of fear there, where her voice quivers ever so slightly; she's had to learn the difficult way that things like trauma and survivor's guilt are very real things that don't just go away because you throw a lot of money at them. but Leon's kept her safe before, from the most aggressively friendly puppy that doesn't know its own strength and size to overzealous fans who don't understand the concept of personal boundaries.

the fact that she can tease him at all is testament to her faith in his abilities. ... and his impressive resume against the white walkers also helps. ]

I don't think the Lannisters will be in attendance tonight but they've made surprise appearances before. [ - he's been with her long enough to know she doesn't mean the strange, sniveling cousins no one cares about. ] And rumor has it that Tywin Lannister is looking to marry his kids off yet again. Which lends credence to the other rumors that say their wealth is ... unstable, at the moment.

( he is tempted to correct her. he can see more, track the crowd better, if he watches her from a distance. isn't jumbling his job with the right footwork to blend into a crowd. the sort of blending he's good at has nothing to do with keeping pace on the dance floor. expecting him to do both at once means he'll be worse at both. but the slight hint in her voice, a quaver that reminds him his untouchable charge isn't quite the fearless socialite she presents herself to be, softens the rebuke. )

Dancing with you would just make my presence stand out. I'll dance with someone else, if you prefer it. ( his tone implies he does NOT prefer it. Marg, pls don't make him dance. he will not have much in the way of skill, and inflicting that on a lesser lady to please her and remain as close as she likes will just make his job harder.

he frowns, which is usually what happens when she's right and he doesn't exactly like it. there is a chance of a Lannister at this event, he's well aware. though, ) You're safer if they do. ( not safe from interacting with them, to be fair, but knives in the crowd at the very least. a chance of violence when the key players of their family could be at risk would be truly stupid. and Twyin, at the very least, doesn't seem to be that. )
