train to the afterlife

THE TRAIN TO THE AFTERLIFE

Congratulations! your character is dead — for whatever reason, whether it be canon, au, what have you. it'll be a bit of a journey to the afterlife, though, so your character might as well talk to the other people. death knows no place: most of them are strangers, even from faraway worlds. but death knows no time either, so who knows, some of them may be familiar people, whether recently deceased or long so. maybe your character know how they died, maybe they don't. perhaps the memory is fuzzy, or perhaps it's crystal clear. maybe it was simply their time or maybe they weren't at all ready to go, but none of it matters. your character knows they're dead and the train is taking them to an afterlife.

oh look — here comes the snack cart.

[He probably looks a little shell-shocked still, occasionally running his fingers over his arms or knees, or checking his hands and arms for damage that just isn't there anymore.]

[He's just going to move around the train restlessly, smelling vaugely of ash and smoke.]

[ OG Gamora who died in Endgame, for max feels. ]

[There's a non-zero chance that he went down saving someone else.]

[Either he's used to very short trips on this train, or it's a place he never expected to see, depending on the desired level of angst.]

[He's been here a while, practically made a home of the place, none of the stops the train has made so far have been his, but that's alright, there's always people to talk to around here.]

[Hers was clearly not a peaceful death if the way she's wedged her back into the corner of the compartment so she can see the door and startles at any loud sound or talking is any indication.]

[ Tapping a foot a bit impatiently, Piccolo tips his head at another passenger. There's a lot, the planet just blew up. ]

[This is... definitely not what he expected. The fact that he doesn't have a mark on him now is something that he knows should be reassuring, but is actually a little distressing, no proof that it worked even though he knows it did, it had to.]

[Perhaps Eddie knows exactly what he's looking at when the Drow sits themselves in the seat across from him. Their skin is only a little lighter than the usual dark elf, presumably a result of sun damage, much like the white freckles dusting their cheeks. They lean forward, head tilted so they look up into his eyes.]

It might seem strange to say, but you are a little more preoccupied than the usual passenger I see. And their usual panic doesn't seem to be so...so without?

I have some impressive ears, if you wish for me to listen.
