ANGST MEME


Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters can and will fall.

1. just depressed.
Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.

2. abandoned.
You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.

3. sick.
Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.

4. fight.
You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.

5. break up.
You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.

6. separated.
For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.

7. kidnapped.
You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?

8. beaten up.
Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.

9. jealousy.
You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.

10. cheated on.
This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?

11. apathetic.
You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.

12. addicted.
Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.

13. bad romance.
You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.

14. fear.
Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.

15. insanity.
You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.

16. guilt.
It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.

17. loss
You've lost something dear to you.

18. wild card.
Combine some options or make your own!

He's ripped one of the sleeves off his shirt and is using it to staunch the bleeding of a broken nose, one of his eyes is swelling up, and there are cuts and bruises on his arms, and slashes in the rest of his clothing where he's bleeding or bruised. He's limping in his left leg, and is currently trying to quietly get upstairs without waking Quinn.

She really doesn't need to see him like this.]

[ She stays in the bed long after they come to take him away - the tiny body of her child, with lungs not yet formed large enough to cry out. He'd been dead even before she'd given birth, the gods choosing to give him no chance at life now. She moves as if she is made of ice when the maids return to bathe her, to wash the blood from her thighs and the sweat from her body. Her breasts are filled with milk that will never be suckled, never be consumed. She gazes down at the flat plane of her belly and does not feel anything but anger.

The weeks that follow seem to blur together - condolences from the people, offerings made in their name, their children moving quietly around them, as if worried they may lash out in misdirected anger. Lagertha's womb aches to carry another child, but she is advised against lying with her husband so soon. She seethes, and waits for the time when it will be safe for them to attempt again.

She knows where he will be tonight, sitting on the outcrop of rocks that overlooks the water, likely lost in a bottle as he has been seen doing for the better part of these days. She approaches on silent feet, her skirt a whisper against her legs as the wind laps at her clothes, her face, and stands over him, observing his strong profile as she waits for him to say anything at all. ]

[When the genetically superior were invited firmly to leave the planet, all of them were sent, with their various spots and stripes and foibles and inclinations, an unlikely and ragtag crew bound together in only the loosest of genetic ways. Unfortunately they'll never know whether Steve would have fared a little better against Marcus, would have perhaps not gone on a brief killing rampage and succeeded in making enemies of Spock, Kirk, and the like. Khan was the one they woke up first, and Khan is the one left now, once the dust has settled, to revive the rest of his crew up. He's got them to safety, to a little M-class planet on the edge of space, and all Steve knows is that he's coming out of a deep sleep.

He comes to with a bang, and coughing violently, feeling as weak as he ever did when he was purely human, reaching up to grab the arm of the man who he somewhat suspiciously considers a teammate, a person who may be on his side but who he doesn't fully have a measure of yet. There is, however, a foundation of respect there, and then tentative beginnings of trust.

When he can get a lungful of air in, he asks;]
