[Got a few scenarios in mind, I'm happy to plot things out or roll with some assumed CR. I'm also 1000% down for him being the platonic date so his friend doesn't show up alone.]

[Toying with the idea of her being a teacher acting as the general chaperone, and being asked to dance mayhaps?]

[Most definitely a chaperone.]

[He's gently knocking on the door with corsage in hand, fully dressed up and looking like a proper date. Sparing a glance towards his phone, Itachi's well-aware he's early, but he's hoping they'll be able to beat the traffic rush to the venue. After waiting a few more minutes and adjusting his bow tie, the man raps his knuckles against the door again rather than to ring the doorbell.]

( The gentle knocking on the door so early isn't surprising, and it was something that she had been expecting from him, so she had made it a point to try to be ready before their agreed time and made sure neither Neji or sister were otherwise occupied to keep any questions or glaring at the minimum, which the later tended to happen a lot since whatever this was started.

While whatever this was had started a couple of months ago, much to the mild chagrin of their families and whatever mild issues between them, neither had exactly put a label on it just yet and while she wasn't seeing anyone else still there was no label, due to that and how new this was she had been surprised when he had asked her to be his prom date— keyword his since hers was still a year away, and she had maybe stressed over it more than she should have.

But here she was now, apparently ready to go to prom with one of the most popular guys in their school and she was well coping with it as best as she could. The only thing she was more or less sure about was that she looked good enough, she could clean up nicely and all had fallen into place once she had found a dress, everything had gone smoothly since.

Taking a deep breath, she opened the door upon the second knock and tried her best to smile without showing how nervous she still felt. ) Uchiha-san, I apologize if I made you wait.

[There hadn't been anyone else to come to mind ever since this odd relationship of theirs had begun, who he'd have accompanying him to the prom. It had certainly taken some convincing towards both sides of the family for this to actually happen, Itachi had been vehement on his stance and his intentions. Perhaps that sincerity was what managed to win Hiashi over (even if only momentarily and somewhat, with a strict curfew) in the end, thus leading him to be able to stand at Hinata's doorstep without someone else driving him off.

As the door finally opens, his breath silently catches in his throat as onyx eyes drink in the sight of her dress--She's always been breathtaking, yes, but going through all this extra effort to look her best? There's a smile tugging at his lips.]

I don't mind. You look more beautiful than usual, it was worth the wait.

[Canting his head very slightly, he makes sure not to forget the still very much cold container in his hand. Within is the corsage he had made, a bundle of reddish-orange and red camellias--They'd go well with her dress.]

( Even with the strict curfew that her father had insisted on, which had made her a bit worried it would make him change his mind about all of this, but thankfully it didn't.

A small flush appeared on her cheeks when she took a good look at him and how handsome he looked— which he always was, and just because she wasn't as vocal as several of the many girls in school that were interested in him, it didn't mean she was blind and hadn't noticed. Her flush turned a bit darker at his compliment, still not being used to having such words aimed her way. )

Ah, thank you, Uchiha-san. You…you look very handsome too. ( And she had to fight the urge to play with her fingers out of nervousness, at least it reassured her that she looked nice considering despite finding something she liked, she has still second guessed herself a lot.

She blinked a bit, not having quite noticed the container with her corsage, and she peered at the bundle of flowers and smiled. ) Oh! It's so pretty! Ummm..a-are you supposed to put it on or…?

[Itachi was nothing if not persistent, despite his poor health. When he was able to be active, he took the initiative to enjoy it as well as to be there for Hinata as he should. This was the bare minimum that one should do for her, this was a sentiment he refused to budge on.]

I'm relieved that you think so, I wouldn't want you to have an ill-looking date.

[There's a pause as he hears that question, and an exhale through his nose akin to a chuckle. Really, she's still not very prone to asking for what she wants--And with that in mind, he's taking the liberty of giving her a gentle nudge to do so.]
