Acts of nature, vicious monsters, merciless enemies, and treacherous worlds. These are circumstances which put your skills and your wit to the ultimate test: the struggle to survive. Maybe you're fit enough to make it on your own, or maybe you're in over your head. Either way, can you afford to help a friend or stranger in need? That's a decision you'll have to make in the moment.

scenarios

1. wilderness
Whether you're stranded, adventuring, or simply camping, the wild has been known to turn on those who would appreciate her splendor in an instant. Wild animals, inclement weather, hazardous territory, and food that fights back are just some of the things you'll need to contend with to survive.

2. natural disaster
Earthquakes, floods, avalanches, and more. These forces of nature are hard to predict, and even harder to control. You may need more than just your own wit and ingenuity to make it through this.

3. post-apoc
The world has met with some disaster - be it war, a climate event, an invasion - and for most, all the comforts of modern life are a thing of the distant past. How have the stragglers survived so far?

4. alien planet
You've landed on a strange and unknown world, and you have no idea what dangers could lurk ahead. The very air could be poison, and on some worlds, even the plants have teeth!

5. zombies
Whatever you do, don't get bitten. No one can afford to spare your life when the virus takes hold.

6. robot uprising
Humanity has been pushed to the very brink of existence on their own world, as AIs rise up to take their place as the rightful stewards of the planet. Do you even stand a chance against intelligence and physical ability far superior to a mere fleshy being?

7. monsters
Take care and stay on your guard, for this territory is crawling with foul beasts who will come for you at any sign of... fear, sound, movement, blood... or what have you!

8. battle royale
In this nightmare, your enemies are the very people who are trapped here with you. Do you team up to survive, or do you take no prisoners?

9. enemy territory
This is your most dangerous mission yet: you're heading right into the enemy's lair.

10. wildcard

[ she knows the trial is off before it even starts, by right of the fact that she's at the campfire by herself, the three other spaces notably devoid of her teammates. that should be alarming, and maybe in the beginning it would have been, but she isn't particularly surprised by the Entity's antics anymore; anything can happen around here, and it seems like it's always just a matter of if, not when. great, Laurie thinks miserably, flicking her offering into the fire as the thick fog starts to descend, wondering what bullshit this place has managed to cook up this time, and if she'll escape with all her organs still packed neatly in place.

the fog begins to clear and at least the trial ground itself is recognizable, but that's a cold comfort, given that they're in Haddonfield. at this point, Laurie understands this to be some new, elaborate form of torture, punishment for dropping a flashbang in front of Jonah at the campfire earlier, or for just generally being unpleasant to everyone around her. if she's really, truly alone remains to be seen, but as she gets her bearings she doesn't really get a sense of anyone else.

there are no heart beats, either, which isn't entirely surprising. if this is in fact some new and improved form of torment, then it makes sense that the Entity would send Michael to make her suffer. but from her vantage point from the balcony of one of the neighborhood houses, she can see the entire realm; across the street, there's the whip of a black coat, tendrils floating in the air. and down by the rusted car, she can see the Pig crouched and ready. she sees the moment that they see each other, the moment the confusion -- that she's also feeling, thanks -- start to settle in.

what the fuck is going on? that's certainly the question of the hour, and Laurie really doesn't want to find out. ]

[It's taken them a few failed attempts to go back to realize what happened. Clarke Griffin and her angry vampire shadow were finally kicked off the Serena Eterna for being too annoying. The metal detector beeped mockigly every time Natsuno passed through, and red light flickered in what was probably mors code for lol fuck you.]

We should go. I don't think it's gonna open again.

( Well, this is awkward. Sure, Eddie spent a week on the run from an angry mob and their metaphorical pitchforks. There was whatever the damn cruise ship kept throwing at them, but to actually toss Eddie in the middle of nowhere with a compass and a drive to survive and his chances of making it out alive are minimal at best.

Is this what eternity in the Nothing is like? Who the hell knows. It would be just his luck to get stuck in a neverending nightmare rather than existing in a liminal space or finding himself trapped on the Serena Eterna as a ghost for the rest of his undead life.

Instead, he's surrounded by nature with no idea of where he is or how to rough it. What was it his Uncle Wayne always told him when they were camping? Find a spot near water? Which would be nice if he had a map or --

Palamedes wakes up lying on his back on a forest floor. The ground below his head is surprisingly soft, and the smell of earth and leaf cover is rich and unexpectedly pleasant. A breeze rustles the trees.

When Pal concentrates, he can feel the thanergenic and thalergenic hum of death, decay, and birth, something he has only fully experienced once before. He sits up abruptly as the realization hits him: he is no longer on the Serena Eterna, and neither is in one of the Captain’s sterile pocket universes.

Behind him, he hears the snap of a twig. Slowly, he turns his head.

A shaggy wolf is staring at him with three hungry eyes.

[Now, Rita would have claimed with complete confidence that she'd never let herself make an alcoholic fool of herself again. Once was enough, thank you, and who in their right mind would invite a hangover for a second time? But then the post-labyrinth vibes had been pretty bad, and maybe they'd both ended up letting loose a little much at the first non-sacrificial excursion under the new rules that they had.

All that to say: in a half-open hut on the border between a sandy beach and tropical jungle, Rita in her beachwear is sleepily cuddled up to Clarke and snoozing off a hell of a lot of partying from the night before. Maybe there had even been a mumbled beddy at some point. Now, the sun is up, the charred remains of a bonfire standing out starkly on the sand...and there's nobody else around trying to wake them up.

Rita stretches languidly, tightening the almost-chokehold she has around Clarke's neck, and mumbles in the other girl's ear.]

O...flickering blaze...burrrrn...

[Whatever Clarke's state, she's about to get a rude awakening: Rita is fully capable of casting spells in her sleep, and now the smell of smoke fills the hut as the roof starts burning.]

[ Alhaitham's liable to explore the wilderness, especially the sort that's got crumbling ruins and secret messages written on walls. He's incredible insightful as far as traps and the like go, and will help anyone survive as long as they aren't exceptionally burdensome.

For AUs, I'm most interested in post-apocalyptic scenarios-- Alhaitham would be a lone traveller, in that case, and while he's not likely to team up with anyone, maybe a dire situation requires some cooperation? Or maybe he's passed by a safe zone your character lives in/frequents and there's recognition and rapport there?

In any case, I'm open to ships or platonic interactions. Crosscanon and OCs definitely encouraged! ]

( ooc So I'm canonblind, but damn if I'm not intrigued nonetheless. I've got Tobi here who is also a Lone Wanderer, and generally inclined to thoroughly investigate just about anything he comes across out of excessive completionist curiosity. There are often consequences for that! He prefers stealth and one-shot kills, but if he's in a situation where that's not successful he'd certainly appreciate having someone tougher on his side for whatever comes of it.

There's precedent for alien abductions and crash landings in Fallout, lol, so I'm down whether you want to meet in my wasteland or yours. )

I play Michael as a mix of all his incanartions and having an instinct to protect at least one person he feels sympathy and connection within any scenario. So he doesn’t have to solely be antagonistic. Also, while (mostly) selectively mute he is hardly mindless. ]

[this is probably not the most convenient setup. Regardless of Mizu's opinion on the matter, rejecting Maya as an apprentice simply isn't an option. Where Mizu goes, Maya follows, now. It is simply the way of the world; when a Fey decides something is going to be true, nothing will stand in her way.

still, it's probably stranger still that Maya was not simply a court lady or a farm girl or anything like that— no, something even weirder and also in between. After all, despite being from a family of mediums, Maya had always been expected to participate in caring for the village she came from.

that at least makes things a bit less annoying, probably, when en route to their next destination. dressed as she was when they met and as unbearably bouncy as Maya continues to be now, she is at least determined not to give Mizu any reason to believe she can't hold her own while they journey.

so she's started a fire! Actually, as she withdraws her hands from the growing flame she almost looks a little too proud of herself for starting a fire in their makeshift shelter beneath a particularly large boulder. surely it's because of the survival skills and not some secret enjoyment of starting fires. It's cool.]

Here we go. That should do it for now...
