1. new addition: from having a baby, fur baby, or adopting to being introduced to your new home or sibling and everything in between.
2. celebration: time for decorations, gifts, food, and plenty of alcohol for the adults! could be for the holidays or some other big event, but the whole family's invited.
3. arguments: no family is perfect after all. is your sibling getting all the attention? or maybe your spouse is spending too much time at work? something is bothering you and it's time to get it off your chest.
4. quality time: it could be something as simple as watching a movie together, going shopping, or something more intimate like bathing or seeking some much needed advice.
5. family vacation: is it relaxing or filled with adventure? a trip to a beach resort or disney world? whatever you choose just remember the most important thing is to have fun, or at least try to.
6. emergency: hospital visits, natural disasters, a missing relative, etc. they say nothing brings families closer together than tragedies.

[ Sometimes, a guy just wants to have a movie night this his best "bro", and he doesn't say anything weird.

This is not one of those nights.

Which sucks, because the movie night was John's idea in the first place, and it had taken a long time to settle on roasting Trolls World Tour! And yet here they are, sat in the living room of the old Egbert family household, with the absolute weirdest question he could think to ask just on the tip of his tongue. ]

Hey Dave? [ He sets the popcorn bowl that he was cradling on the coffee table. ] This movie sucks. I was just thinking...

[ He trails off, hoping that maybe Dave just won't acknowledge him? Or maybe he'll be super into the movie, and tell him to shut up... ]

[Living with John has provided Dave with a sense of happiness and security that he hasn't had much of in his living situations. It makes it all the more apparent that there's something that seems to be missing, but its something he and John seem to swivel around without ever really touching.

It is best illustrated by Dave's socked feet creeping towards his friend, resting on his thigh and occasionally tapping the rhythm of a song against him. Only Dave knows that he's hoping for some sort of physical acknowledgement beyond being tickled, and even he's barely cognisant of the fact that he's touch starved.]

[Dave sits upright, kicking his legs over John as he doe as casually as possible. As if pinning him in place.]

It is tempting to tickle Dave's feet since they're right there. Except he did that yesterday, and he does not need anyone getting the idea that he has a foot fetish, least of all Dave. He would never live it down. So he just pats Dave's shin, for lack of anything better to do. ]

Well yeah, but not right now. I was just thinking... wouldn't it be messed up if people thought we should get married and kiss or something like that and so they wrote stories about it? Not that they would or anything.
