It's the dream! You and your buddies get together in garage one day to slap some drums and sing a few notes all with the hopes that somehow, some day, you'll make it big. And who doesn't want to be a rock star? You get the money, the girls, the respect... Hopefully you don't get any of the tragedy that seems to come along with stardom, but that's for your future self to deal with.
For now, you're content with scribbling lyrics in your notebooks and strumming along to the greats.
how to play
Comment with your character, your preferences, and what a band with them might look like. Is there any particular genre they'd go for? Do they play guitar, or are they the lead singer? Is this a pop group? A death metal band?
There's also the most important part, picking the band name, but that's something your characters can decide together.
Plus, if your character wouldn't want to be in the band, there's plenty of other stuff for them to do. These bands need managers, accountants, tour drivers, groupies, stans...
Reply to others, shop around, try to get this band off the ground.

practice is in session! All of these prompts are following the classic rags-to-riches band narrative, but you can always throw a few more wrenches in these plans.
origins - How'd it all start? Who was the first one to throw the idea out there? Who decided on a name, and who veto'd it?
practice - How else are you supposed to get good? From your first practice to your last, you're going to have to find a way to get in synch with your bandmates, or you won't make it too far.
first gig- Someone wants your band to open for Papa's Pizzeria! Or maybe you'll get lucky enough that your first gig isn't embarrassingly low-brow.
business - Contracts, record labels, negotiating salaries, shaking hands, making deals. There's a whole side to music that some people prefer to stay out of. I just want to make music, man!
blowing up- When was the first time you heard your song on the radio? The first time someone recognized you out on the street? When did you know you'd made it?
breaking down - This band thing isn't working, but why? Is your drummer stealing the money? Has your guitarist gone from your best friend to your worst enemy?
tour - You get to see the world! Or at least you get to see the country. Whether it's small scale or world-wide, you're spending a lot of time on a bus being shuttled from place to place. When you aren't taking in the sights and laying down a killer show, what do you get up to?
rich and famous - By now, you've made it. Like, you've really made it. You could by a jet with your name on it if you wanted.
celebrity status - People know you. You're being invited to talk shows and podcasts. Your Instagram's blowing up with over twelve-million followers. You've made it, buddy.
drugs, sex, and more - Somewhere along the way, we knew this was bound to happen. Rock star life has a stereotype for a reason. Just how caught up are you getting in the world of drugs, sex with fans, and showing up to practices hung over?
writer's choice - Something we left out? Throw it in!
