It tears me up inside that my son's father didn't want to keep either of us. Sure it would have been embarrassing for his wife and sure, it demonstrates that he never really loved me and just used my body for his own amusement until it became inconvenient...but it still hurts.

And while I've ensured I'll never bear another man's bastard, I am deeply aware of the fact that I have allowed that to happen again and again and again with men who are exactly the same way. Giving my body and my soul for their power, for the illusion of their love.
