It's not even Thanksgiving yet, and already Barbie Land looks like an FAO Schwartz display, decked with dream cars, Festive wardrobes, houses covered in plastic snow and lights, and every possible shade of red, green, gold, and silver you could imagine. This was what Christmas time was in the dream world of toys.

Jim wondered, briefly, if there was a TV Christmas special for kids in there somewhere, before turning his attention back to the party. The full array of Santa dresses, winter fairy princesses, and "ugly sweaters" adorned with sleighbells or battery powered lights added a festive din to the noise of mall Christmas music and Barbies and Kens mingling around the massive plastic Christmas tree.

He smiled and waved at Barbie...well, the one of many whom he'd befriended in L.A. It was always fun to see her in full Barbie mode. And why shouldn't she be? A toy woman who lives in a deluxe dollhouse? Why wouldn't she love the holidays?
