Run Away Together Meme The two of you have decided to run away together. Bottom line, you've come up with that plan and you've worked up the guts and the means to do it. The most obvious source of a desire to leave together is a romance you can't have until you're gone from this place. It's like all the eloping that happened in those epics of old. How charmingly beautiful! How romantic! Who says the old ways have gone out of style? But other reasoning behind the decision could be from the serious - you both want to escape imprisonment, an oppressive atmosphere, or a miserable destiny - to the more lighthearted. Maybe an adventure is just what you need, where you'll finally get to see the world...and, slowly, fall in love. Because that's what the crux of all this is: even if the escape started out as mere convenience, you both want to stay close and work together. In the end, when you've finally run where you want to be and the danger, if any, has passed, you may find you don't want to go your separate ways. Comment with your character, preferences, and why your character would run away alongside someone. Reply to others. Run, run away, and never return. Or do.

[ Being split up from her crew was definitely not an ideal outcome -- granted it wouldn't be the first time, but this was different. Fortunately luck was on her side for a bit, and a run in with Shou earned her some extra help. She didn't know his own circumstances, personally, but privately she was glad she'd run into him when she did. He could have just ignored her frantic cries for help, or even walked away after said help was given. But he didn't. ]

I think we lost them..

[ She all but collapses on the ground, tired from running. There'd just been too many to deal with before finding Shou in the first place. But being out in the open was no good too - so maybe they could find somewhere to hide out ..preferably somewhere with a bath but she knows she's in no position to be picky. ]

It seems so.

[ standing beside her, shou naturally takes a defensive position while she catches her breath, bright eyes keen on their surroundings. he'd slipped into this situation as if it was a second skin — someone had asked him for help, and his ability to protect had done the rest. it hadn't mattered that his ability to fight was what he was trying to escape; luckily, it hadn't taken too much violence on his part to free rebecca from her pursuers. from there it had just been sleights and running.

with a little sweat on his brow, shou finally exhales when he doesn't hear anyone else approaching. ]

I apologize, but we can't rest just yet. Can you stand?

[ turning away from the corner he'd been looking around, he leans over slightly, offering his hands. ]

[ She would love to complain - but she knew that he was right. They only got lucky so far. And as tired as she might be, he must be moreso since he's been doing most of the fighting. She didn't have any right to complain - especially when he was the one helping her. So when he asked if she could stand, she glanced at him as he offered his hands. Blushing slightly, she nodded. ]

I think so.. [ She was actually grateful for the assistance too, since her legs were a bit wobbly, but she took his hands and climbed back to her feet. ]

Okay.. [ She took a deep breath, then let it out again. ]

I know we can't stay out here in the open - I'm not that familiar with the area though... [ She glanced both ways with a small frown, hoping he hadn't spotted anyone. ]

[ with rebecca on her feet again, shou allows her to keep hold of one of his hands for stability if she needs it, releasing the other to lift his arm and look at the watch strapped to his wrist. a screen winks to life above it, but its contents are obscured. ]

I'm somewhat familiar. Luckily, I was able to map out a course beforehand... [ lettering for what looks like an address scrolls across the screen before it disappears. ] So I may be able to secure a safe space for a little while.

[ still hand in hand, shou glances downward towards her. ]

If you'd still like to follow me, that is.

[ he knows he's not exactly the kindest looking person when he fights. ]

[ Glancing in the opposite direction to make sure no one was coming that way, she almost forgot that she still had her hand in his. When she did realize - she had to fight back the blush, a little awkward. He was just helping her up! Focus, Rebecca! ]

You were? That's a relief. [ She could see the light at the end of the tunnel! Aaand then he looks at her, and she gets a chance to get a better look at him when they weren't running for their lives. Or he wasn't in combat. It was such a difference between his fighting and when he was calm like this. ... she felt that blush coming back, and quickly shook her head. Stoppit. ]

O- Of course I would - but.. I just feel bad about involving you with all of this, when you probably have your own situation. [ She gave him a small smile. ]

I really do appreciate the help you're giving me. And.. I should give you the same option. If you want to, you don't...have to stay and help me. We can get to whatever safe space you know of and..and I'll figure things out from there.

[ Although, realistically, she'd probably immediately get caught the minute she dropped her guard. He knew the area better than her and was a better fighter than her. But she didn't want him to be forced into having to bodyguard her if he had other options. ]

[ the words come smooth and assured, a quiet echo in the otherwise calm alleyway. his watch dims and the screen disappears, leaving his attention to square on her. though his expression is stoic, his words are sincere. he really doesn't like the idea of someone going unprotected so long as he has the ability to help. ]

If I placed you in danger once again by doing that, there would be no point in offering my assistance in the first place.

[ gaze flicking away again now that he's made his stance clear, shou gives another sweep of their surroundings before nodding as a cue to let rebecca know he was going to start moving again. without letting go, he gives her hand a tug in the direction his map specified. ]

So stay close for now.

[ She knew that he was only saying that as someone who was looking out for someone else, but the sincerity in his words, and the seriousness in which he said them still was.. enough to make her a little flustered. She almost missed the cue that they were going to start moving, startling a bit at the tug to her hand. Instinctively she tightened her grip on his. ]

. . . a-alright.

[ Stop thinking weird thoughts, Rebecca, focus on the situation! She cleared her throat slightly, but picked up the pace, glancing both ways as the followed him. She could tug her hand out of his at any point once she knew which direction he was heading, but she made no attempt to do so. ]

Once we get to that safe space you were talking about, I'd like to try to get in touch with the others, but those people - those cultists would probably be monitoring the lines wouldn't they?
