If I look at them, they're subjected to an intense fear response. In some cases, I don't even have to look directly at them for them to be affected.

I've worn variations of this mask ever since. The tinted lenses block the effect.

Too serious! Even now, but... if Bashou's bringing it up, then it's bothering him a lot, so Buson can only feel sympathetic.]
