LET'S GO TO THE FAIR MEME It's time to go to the fair! Food, rides, games, historical reenactments, the choices are endless! Go with your friends, your family, or if you're feeling romantic, go with a date! Don't run out of tickets.

LOCATIONS 1. COUNTY/STATE FAIR From the hokey to the bright and brilliant, you've been waiting for this all year! Are those rides up to code? Can you find the perfect fair food? Damn, those churros look good. 2. REN/PIRATE FAIRE Is something a little older your style? Try out a Renaissance or a pirate faire! You can dress up like the times or just be a civilian passing through. Mead, turkey legs, butt grabbing... 3. AMUSEMENT PARK Screw fairs, you want to go to Disneyland! Or Legoland, or Universal Studios... Whatever, you just want to go to the REAL THING. Elitest. You're not better than us. 4. HAUNTED CARNIVAL You thought this was a normal fair, but something seems... off. Are the ghosts fake or are they real? Does that guy have fangs? What the hell is this, Scooby Doo? 5. MUSIC FESTIVAL Who needs fairs when you can go to a venue and pay $40 for a t-shirt and watch thirty bands in one day and get heat exhaustion while drinking cheap beer? That's what we thought. 6. HOLIDAY FAIR It's Halloween! Or Christmas! You want to see pumpkin carving! Or Santa Claus! Whatever, man. You just like holidays. SCENARIOS 1. RIDES The Tilt-a-Whirl costs how many tickets? This had better be worth it. 2. FOOD Holy shit, you have to try this chocolate covered, deep-fried ice cream! We'll stand by with some paddles. 3. EXHIBITS You want to look at photography? Art? Some kid's ode to his dog made of popsicle sticks? Let's go for it. 4. ANIMALS Are those tiny pigs wearing JACKETS and running a RACE? We have to go right now. Alternatively, pay to see the world's biggest live alligator. Her name is Susy. 5. GAMES You really want to win that giant unicorn but for some reason, the pins won't fall over even when you hit them dead-center. Is this rigged? 6. ROMANCE Whether it's the tunnel of love, jousting for someone's hand, or just sitting around sharing a dessert, we've got you covered on the date front. 7. MASCOTS Maybe you want to meet Mickey. Or Santa. Or, I don't know, whatever the hell that dude over there in a suit is. Careful though, a lot of times little kids can be real scared. 8. CONTESTS Baking contest? Are there funny notes in the grading cards for some of them? Maybe you want to look at how some nerd set a table. Check them out, try to steal one of the blue ribbons, whatever. 9. SHOPPING Everything here is SO COOL. Did you see that light up headband? That shirt with an emoji on it? Seriously, what will they think of next? Just don't get swindled out of your money! 10. CONCERTS This is it, this is the good stuff. You wanted some music and now you've got it; what kind of music is your jam? Will you be sitting comfortably or are you going to meet someone in the pit? If your scenario doesn't match the location, make something up or pick a different one, we won't tell! As always, these are just suggestions. Make up anything you want, as long as you're having fun!

[Hawkins was pretty notorious for its fall fair. Which was pretty damn humorous for a shit, cursed town. Steve had been honestly surprised it was still happening considering the events of Vecna.

So many of the town's people had fled, moved else where.

Still, it was something refreshing to hopefully lift spirits of those still remaining. No harm in crazy rides and good food, right? He doesn't know how he allowed Nancy into talking him to attend with her.

Maybe it was the eyes? The fact she even asked him of all people?

The evening is perfect, the weather at excellent temperature. Really sets the mood for fall. The two walk side by side amongst screaming ride goers and flashing lights.

You can't beat the Franklin County Fair for sheer value. Entry is only 5 cents (children under 8 free), and you can stay all day without being hassled for loitering. Cricket has met Paul just inside the entrance, and he's dressed up a little for the occasion, inasmuch as Cricket dresses up. His clothes are tidy and hole-free, and he's wearing a sweater vest over the shirt. He's got a cane on him, fully expecting to be tired of walking by the end of the day, but for now he's fresh-faced and eager.

"We wanna see the cows first," he greets him. "They always give you free milk."

[ Marie's never been to a music festival, and she's only ever been to a concert once before her family... you know. She tries not to think about what her sister would be doing if she were here, instead focusing her attention on Jordan who's next to her as they stand in line for merchandise.

There's EBM music — at least that's what she thought she heard — blasting from the speakers overhead, and although Marie knows maybe one or two artists and one other band from tonight's lineup, she still wants something to bring back home.

[Is there anything better than a fall carnival?
Lights, rides, snack food that is guaranteed to give you heartburn! How can you resist such fun?

Yeah, sure. Fun.
Which is exactly what Carter is not having at the moment, he dragged himself here because he thought it might take his mind off some things but all it seems to be doing is reminding him of what an outcast loser he is.

The midway is busy with families and couples, so many young couples that it makes his heart ache a little. Especially when he happens to look up and see Billy walking around with some pretty girl from Hawkings under his arm.

He feels a dull ache in his stomach and he tries to convince himself that to feel like that, to feel jealous of that girl, is stupid. Really stupid.
But it doesn't work and when Billy suddenly looks up and their eyes meet he hastily looks away and turns to head blindly towards somewhere he can escape the crowd.

The place he picks by accident of course, is the Fun House.]
